Tyler Krohn is the best, most caring pediatrician I have ever met. My childen have been seen by 9 different pediatricians between 3 different practices in the last 3 years and Dr. Tyler is the first one who really cares about my kids and not about how fast he can finish the visit. He has really gone out of his way to form a personal connection with our family and seems to really empathize with us when our kids are sick. We first met Dr. Tyler when my son was 2 weeks old. Our regular pediatrican at the time was too hard to schedule an appointment with so we decided to see Dr. Tyler instead. What a blessing! In the midst of a very busy day in a very busy office he walked in and met my baby as if my baby was the most important baby in the world. YOU CANT FIND DOCTORS AS GENUINE AS THIS! Now that Dr. Tyler has his own practice, the office environment is a lot more relaxed. It is also a LOT easier to make an appointment same day. Dr. Tyler embodies our own ideals of what a pediatrician is for: "An advocate for children and a partner for parents!" It is so nice to not feel judged for the decisions that I make for my children, Some of our past pediatricians would berate us for some of our parenting coices and would coerce us into decisions we did not support. Its so nice to instead have Dr. Tyler assisted along the way and actaully listening to us. When my wife and I told our older son that we were having a little boy, he immediately instructed us that our "doctor better be "Dr. Tyler". We couldn't believe that our 18 year old was so enthusiastic about his doctor, but he was absolutely right. Our son was diagnosed with a genetic heart defect called "tetralogy of fallot". As he will require surgery in a month to correct the condition, our vetting process for pediatricians was extreme. We were impressed with how Dr. Tyler had studied under the leading cardiac surgeon at Children's. Without reservation, I can say how very much I would encourage everyone with a child to meet Dr. Tyler. From the moment we met Dr. Tyler, we knew he was warm and caring, but when we visited us in the NICU, examined our son, and responded to our nervous emails during the wee hours of the morning, we felt that being under Dr. Tyler's care was one of the most fortunate gifts we could have received. As exceptionally busy professionals, I want to add how very much my wife and I appreciate how Dr. Tyler utilizes every conceivable form of modern technology to communicate with his patients (emails, his blog, Facebook page, and Twitter page). Dr. Krohn is an amazing doctor. As first-time parents, we interviewed several doctors. After meeting Dr. Krohn, the search was over. His approach was one of partnership with us as parents rather than one of authoritarian and patient. He was so caring with our daughter and provided incredible personal attention. He was always available to us either by phone or email (at no extra cost) and really took the time to answer questions. I never felt rushed at our office visits and always had a sense that he genuinely cared for our daughter's well-being. He was also very flexible in working with us in terms of our specific health care wishes with our daughter. He is very clear about presenting information and providing you with options, but understands that it's the parents who make the final decisions about their children and works with you to provide the best care possible. After finding this pediatric gem, we were heartbroken when we had to switch doctors because of insurance. We started the interview process again and had a very hard time finding a new doctor. Dr. Krohn set the bar so high for us that it really made it difficult to find someone who could match his level of care, understanding, accessibility and personal attention. read more

Well what can I say about Dr. Khron, I can't say enough as far as I am concerned (good things that is). He was my pedeatrician in the hospital with the birth of my first child and immediately I was super happy with his service. He has at all points in our daughter's life (a year and some change) been a caring, available, reasonable, humble, open hearted doctor. That's why when he went out of network I did what I had to do to continue having him see our daughter. He has a new born and so he is living a lot of the things we as new parents are going through which I think is a great resource for our kids. You don't ever feel rushed in his presence, he has the right attitude towards his practice as he understands he is in a service environment and he does all he can do to show that he cares and that he is appreciative that you have chosen him to care for your children( done in a very genuine way). Ok, I'll stop rambling ....I'm torn as this review may make him much busier than he is now and therefor less available, but I have all the faith that he will continue to give the kind of service he gives now even with more clients. Dr. Tyler is the best doctor we could ever ask for our 9-month old son. We had originally signed up with another doctor from his prior practice. Because he was not available at the hospital when our son was born, we had the good luck to meet Dr Tyler. He took the time to come visit and check on him everyday we were at the hospital, and answered very patiently all of our questions. Ever since, he goes above and beyond his duties, asking lots of questions and following up on issues we discussed. He spends all the time necessary in every appointment, and you never feel he is in a hurry. He is always available by email and responds very quickly, which as a busy professional and new mom I really appreciate. He is very knowledgeable about the latest studies and information on all topics, and we certainly value his well informed but open minded advise on any parenting issue when we request it. I would definitely recommend Dr Tyler to anyone who cares about both a more personable and involved approach, and a well informed doctor they can truly trust. read more

We think Dr. Tyler is as fabulous as it gets!! Over the years, I have found myself wondering why many doctors have chosen their profession, as I plead with their staff for a return call or I'll ask the doctor one last question while he/she shifts their weight at the door, eager to exit the room. I find if I don't go into the appointment with a list, I'm bullied into wrapping it up before I ask my questions. But then there's Dr. Tyler. From the moment my husband and I met Dr. Tyler, he made us feel as though we had his undivided attention. Also, as the stellar pediatrician he is, Dr. Tyler always checks in with my health and well-being (!), because he knows I wake up with my infant to breastfeed at all hours of the night. He always responds to our emails in a timely manner, and genuinely loves what he does -- I can tell by his devotion to his patients. He's like that great shortcut off Wilshire - I'm afraid to tell too many people about it in fear it'll become all the rage, but then I remember he'll always have a spot for us. read more

Tyler has been a fantastic find. He has taken care of our son since birth - literally since the first day in the hospital. I note that he took the extra time to come every single day we were in the hospital to check in us and our son - this is Dr. T's standard practice and less common these days from what I understand. Dr. T takes extra time with both his patients and his patients' families/parents which we have always appreciated. He is responsive to our questions on a very prompt basis and very knowledgeable as to how to properly answer our questions or address our concerns. So far wait time has been very minimal at the office and we have never had a problem getting in to see Dr. T if necessary. Dr. Tyler is clearly there for his patients and his patients' families and cares about them both from a physician and personal standpoint. We would highly recommend Dr. Tyler. read more

Before we found Dr. Tyler, going in for our daughter's well-baby checkups was so stressful! As a first time mom, I was already stressed out enough, and was counting on our pediatrician visits to calm me down a little and give me some guidance. That never happened. I am SO glad I kept looking for the right doctor, because we totally found it in Dr. Tyler. He takes his time with us, is SO accessible through email and phone, and is just a caring, nice guy. The first two pediatricians we were with never really acknowledged that our daughter was in the room, but Dr. Tyler always makes eye contact with her and interacts. It is obvious that he loves what he does and knows how to connect with people. Plus, he's a younger doctor, so I love knowing that our daughter will have this doctor relationship for a long time. Dr. Tyler is a wonderful pediatrician. We started with him at UCLA Peds when our son was born in 2011 and moved with him when he decided to establish his own practice. When my son suddenly stopped breastfeeding at 6 weeks, I went to see several local lactation consultants who could not give me a straight answer as to why this was happening. One local "expert" even went as far as saying that I had a difficult child! Knowing something was indeed wrong, I brought my son to see Dr. Tyler and explained what was happening. Dr. Tyler then quickly, confidently, and most importantly CORRECTLY diagnosed my son. He spent the next 15 minutes answering all of my new mother questions and calming my fears. Dr. Krohn is the best. Moving from Colorado where my son was a third generation baby of our pediatrics practice, there were big shoes to fill. After our first meeting, I knew Dr. Krohn was not only an excellent physician clinically but also excellent with people. His ability to spend the time with the patients and parents and really listen are rare in medicine today. He is thorough, diligent and follows up! And he emails! We began seeing Dr. Tyler when our pre-mature daughter, Eden, was released from the hospital. He was available to see her when the pediatrician we had chosen was out on vacation. We were so impressed with his care that we stayed with him. Dr. Tyler has shown a genuine concern for our daughter and has given her excellent follow up concerning her premie status. We followed him to his new practice and LOVE the unrushed and very personal care he gives. Recently, he took a call from us at 1:00 AM and discussed with us, at length, what to do for a stomach virus our daughter was suffering through. He answers e-mails within a reasonable amount of time and has even been known to answer the phone personally when I call his office. My dad's a doctor in a smallish city, so growing up, getting medical care often meant seeing physicians who were family friends or knew my father professionally. Then I moved away and had to face the cold, hard facts: finding a doctor sucks. Especially when you are new to town, pregnant and overwhelmed. I met with a handful of pediatricians before giving birth, and Dr. Tyler was the one with whom my husband and I felt immediately comfortable. He's kind and thoughtful, with a genuine warmth that easily quells the fears of new parents. We've never felt rushed in an appointment, and he always answers all our questions thoroughly. Dr. Krohn is a wonderful and caring pediatrician who clearly loves what he does, as well as being extremely good at it. He has been our pediatrician since my first son was 18 months old and from the birth of our second son. Each time we visit him, whether for a regular check-up or sick visit, he spends a great deal of time with us answering our questions and gives our boys a high level of care. He always follows up with us on any issues and clearly cares about the well being of his patients. Dr. Krohn always returns calls and is also readily available by email to answer questions, which is more than I can say for the other two pediatricians we saw before him. I love Dr Tyler and so do my kids. I have a 4and a half year old son and a 6 month old daughter. I've seen 4 or 5 pediatricians before I found Dr. Krohn and just wish I had found him 4 and a half years ago. My son loves him and wants to jump in his lap when we see him. My 6 month old daughter smiles when he walks into the room. I feel comfort and peace of mind when my kids are sick knowing that Dr. Krohn is just a phone call away. Dr. Tyler is a fantastic doctor! We met a couple months prior to our daughter's birth and knew immediately that he would be her doctor. You can tell that he cares for his patient's well being. He is gentle and provides a comfortable environment for parents and children. He takes the time to explain procedures, recommendations, and what to expect. I saw two other pediatricians before meeting Dr. Tyler. He is an amazing doctor in terms of his knowledge, expertise and bedside manner. Moreover, he really takes the time to listen to my concerns and explain things very carefully so I understand. He is very sweet with my son, and in general has an enthusiastic energy about him. He is also very responsive to e-mails (very important in this day and age!). I recommended three of my friends to him and they love him too. I cannot say enough good things about him. Dr. Krohn became my children's pediatrician when he first started practicing at Santa Monica UCLA Peds Group. Not only is he an excellent doctor, but when your kid is having health issues, you need someone connected to the best specialists in the city. He was able to more mountains. Having come from Children's Hospital prior to UCLA, he knows the best doctors to reach out to and got my kids in quickly when it became necessary. I appreciate Dr. Krohn's bedside manner and follow-thru. He manages your childs care beautifuuly, becomes their advocate and stays with the medical issue until your child is out of the woods and back in good health. I have seen this young doctor in action and can tell you that he is the real McCoy! I know he started his own practice so he didn't have to rush patients and parents in and out in a matter of minutes. He seems to enjoy getting to know and understand the family. He loves his patients and the area and I expect to see him here for a long, long time. I could be mistaken but I believe I saw the same negative comment one of the posters put on here in another doctor review almost verbatim. It says a lot about a doctor when my child got hurt and I tried to help him and he said he didn't want me to take care of him he wanted Dr. Tyler!!!!
