I have been taking my 13 yr old son to Dr. Shaham for a few years now and she is very kind and gentle with him. She cares about his well being in general and asks him about school and certain games and sports and gives tips on social media. Everyone in the office is very friendly and making an appt is easy to do. I like to park at the rite aid nearby and walk over. It's not a far walk and parking is free! Overall nice office, nice staff and Dr. Shaham is awesome! read more

Dr Shaham is the pediatrician for the sick waiting room patients and second-string to Dr Efron when is he unavailable. We love Dr Efron and trust him implicitly. When Dr Shaham assessed our son in an emergency situation, she was completely unprofessional. She was condescending and belittling in aggressively commenting that our son should be taken to the ER and she was not properly equipped to assist him. In our panic, I was in absolute disbelief over her insensitivity and Emergency Room nurses/physicians always ask if we went to the primary physician first and he/she is aware of the problem. To add further insult to injury, Dr Shaham started to provide directions to the Emergency Room and spoke slowly and articulated each word. I asked if she was giving directions to Cedars Sinai and she replied yes. I gave birth there twice. I don't know why she wanted to assume my aptitude level, but then again, I don't know why Roxbury Pediatrics employs her and how she works with children. I wanted to give ZERO stars, but Yelp considers the review as incomplete. read more

Last night we had an emergency situation with my 2 year old after hours and I called my pediatrician (in the same group as Dr. Shaham). Unfortunately Dr. Shaham was on call and returned my phone call. When I explained that my daughter split her head open and asked for advice going to the hospital she very abruptly and condescendingly asked me how my daughter "supposedly split her head open." It seemed to me that she was insinuating that I was overreacting and suggested I just "take her to an urgent care center." Well, 5 stitches later on my 2 year old little girls forehead, I am glad I trusted my gut and brought her to Cedars Sinai. The plastic surgeon that came in did a beautiful job stitching her up with the utmost care and compassion. They said it was good we came to the ER vs. a urgent care center when dealing with a laceration like this, especially it being right on her forehead. I've also seen Dr. Shaham previously when my regular pediatrician was not in the office and she was just as dismissive. Not something I want from my pediatrician! I've already called to complain and am strongly considering going elsewhere on the chance I would ever have to deal with her again. I take my 2 daughters to Roxbury Pediatrics. They are 4 and 2.5 and have been going there since they were born. I have seen Dr Shaham for sick visits and spoke to her on the phone in various circumstances and she has always listened and answer all my questions. She is very kind and cares about all her patients. She is a mother herself so it is easy to speak and relate to her. I would recommend her to families and overall the practice is amazing! read more

I take my son (3.5 yr) and daughter ( 4m ) to Roxbury Pediatrics and have a had the pleasure of having the kids be treated by Dr. Shaham many times when Dr. K was unavailable, and couldn't be happier or more comfortable with Dr. Shaham taking care of the kids. She is professional and knowledgeable, and can get silly with the kids which puts all of us at ease. She takes the time to answer every crazy question I have without making me feel crazy for asking them and leaves me feeling confident and comfortable. I am sure that Dr Shaham is quite competent, but she has no bedside manner. Whereas Dr Effron will cajole our kids into doing what he needs them to do, Dr Shaham asks once and if she doesn't get compliance out of the toddler, she resorts to brute force. That's not how we treat our kids. We expect more from their pediatrician. read more

Dr. Shaham is an amazing pediatrician. She's caring, loving, knowledgeable and sweet. I have taken both of my daughters (ages 3 and 6) to see her multiple times, although Dr. Efron is their pediatrician, and she has been super helpful every single time. One of my daughters has asthma and the other constant ear infections. I don't know what we would do without Dr. Shaham. Dr. Shaham is an attentive and wonderful pediatrician. My family is currently stationed overseas, but whenever we are in LA we drive 1+ hours just so my daughters can be seen by her. My daughters have seen Dr. Shaham for well visits, which included the crucial newborn period (had 2nd daughter in LA) when we have to be on high alert for issues such as weight gain and jaundice. We never had to wait too long for our appointment (if we even have to wait at all), and we are never rushed during it. In fact, we always have a little chat afterwards to ensure we understand everything and ask any lingering questions. Dr. Shaham also always send us home with a little decorated note that summarizes the visit for the day and stickers for the little ones. Even if I can't make it into the office, I can email Dr. Shaham with any questions and she responds very fast (within an hour or two). I would highly recommend Dr. Shaham to anyone looking for a good pediatrician that listens to parents, give you enough time to discuss your child, and responds promptly to any concerns you may have. read more

Dr. Shaham is truly stellar! She is a physician that goes the extra mile-she spends the time to explain everything and is not short when she calls you after hours. She also happens to be a fantastic diagnostician- she figured out what was wrong with the grownups by talking to us over the phone quicker than the dermatologist could following two visits! We have been taking my niece to Dr. Shaham since she was a few months old. She just had her four year check up and actually has come to love going to see Dr. Shaham! She started out typically terrified of the visits and shots, etc. To our amazement, Dr. Shaham has won her over! Her "bedside manner" is terrific with toddlers and adults. Dr Cigal Shaham is a very devoted and caring pediatrician who takes her time to address each concern thoroughly. She is not an alarmist and is very calm putting parents at ease. I also love that she volunteers her time on a mommy blog answering the questions of parents. She is a busy pediatrician but finds the time to answer medical questions and correct some of the misinformation provided by people without medical degrees. That takes time and patience and above all it shows that she really cares about the well being of our children. My wife and I have been taking our 1 1/2 year old to Dr. Shaham since day one. She's very sweet and funny with our son. I especially like that Dr. Shaham spends time with us in her office at the end of every visit to go over the examination, make suggestions, and answer our questions. My son is 3 years old and we've been seeing Dr. Efron and Dr. Shaham since he was born. Reading these reviews, I think Dr. Shaham is getting a bad shake. I've found her to be knowledgeable, good with my son, helpful and she always takes time to answer questions or discuss issues even when the office has squeezed us in for a sick visit and I know she has a long line of patients to see. Dr. Efron is a great doctor and a big personality that everyone loves. That's awesome ....but I don't pick my doctor's based on their personality. I pick them because they're good doctors and I know i'm going to get the best of care. Shaham is not a big fuzzy personality that's going to tell you jokes all day but she's nice and more importantly, she's a great doctor. Although Efron is technically our doctor, we have seen Shaham for every ear infection, cold, respiratory issue, etc. and she's been fantastic. read more
