    Nature trail

A beautiful place to spend an afternoon! The park is huge with several entrances and parking lots. The black top roads go through the whole park. It's possible to drive through the park. There's a playground near one of the meadows. The bathroom near the playground was closed on a Sunday in February. There's a large parking lot near the river. The river has a bridge walkway. There's a large house here with bathrooms. A fire pit is located in the front. Kayaks are available in warm weather. Many of the walking trails can be accessed from here. There are lots of easy walking trails on blacktop as well as on dirt. Horses are allowed in some areas. Dogs are allowed. Tyler State Park is an oasis of nature.

Beautiful park! There's lots of shades and has a many benches for picnic area. This would be the place to take your family and small children out for a hike and explore.

We came to Tyler park in the middle of January and it was so beautiful in the cold. We saw 2 bald eagles flying around which was such a cool thing to see. I love the trails and scenery.

First time there was very enjoyable. Very good for birding if you're into that. Nature trails are a little small, but I was told about an eagle by horse riders, so I will be back.

Love going to Tyler for almost 24 years! Been taking the kids since they were little! Hiking, canoeing, rock skipping, just perfect for a day of local fun! Now I take the kids as adults for long walks and good conversations! Beautiful!

If you need a place to work out.... If you want to randomly meet new people.... If you want to enjoy nature and see wildlife all around you.... If you want to get together with friends and have a picnic.... If you want to go boat riding.... If you want to go fishing.... If you want to see a beautiful Covered Bridge where photos come out amazing... Then Tyler State Park is your place! Almost all their trails are paved, and there are so many different trails to take, it never gets boring! I also love all the wildlife all about you! If I only had the time, I could legit spend hours here every day~ Great for people of all ages, as they have benches spread throughout the park for you to sit if you get tired.

It is a park that is walking distance from my cousin's house when I visit him. I go all the time when I visit my cousins As a park for locals, I would give it 5 stars. The park is huge. Most of the trails are paved so it is great for a leisurely stroll, run or biking. There is a creek/ boathouse where a lot of people hang out around, picnic areas and a disc golf course. I enter at Twinning Ford road, walk in the Dairy Hill Trail, then head to the boathouse and make a large loop around the park. The scenery is pretty but not spectacular. Again, it is a great spot if you are a local or in town anyway. As a state park I would drive long distances for, there are probably better options.

COVID has certainly expanded my knowledge of local parks, and I'm sad that it took me so long to find Tyler State Park. It always seems to well attended, so you won't feel alone, but not overcrowded either (except around the boathouse sometimes!). Seemingly a popular area for horse riding, the park also features a fairly large frisbee golf course, picnic areas, modern bathrooms, boat rentals, children's playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, a small community theater and an arts center. The walk or bike ride from the boathouse and dam out to Schofield Ford Covered Bridge is a beautiful trip with your choice of following an easy, wide paved trail or a more rustic trail right along the west bank of the Neshaminy Creek, both of which provide lovely views of the creek and surrounding wildlife and landscape. While I'm sad that it took me so long to finally make my way over to Tyler State Park, I'll make sure to make up for the time I missed there in the near future.

Lots to do here! Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, picnicking, barbequing, biking, etc. Great for dogs. Went on a hike along Neshaminy Creek yesterday in perfect hiking weather. The trail was a few miles long one way and it was easy. Parking lot and restrooms near beginning of the trail. There were lots of spots along the trail where you could rest and enjoy the view of the creek.

Tyler State Park is great to eaither fish or take the kids to enjoy a nice bike ride and even to just walk the trails and enjoy the day with the family. Can even bring a grill along and enjoy a nice picnic with a bunch of people. They have nice size tables set up. Can even pay to canoe on the creeks. They have nice clean bathroom all around the park. You can bring your dog along to run around in the creek and stay cool on a hot summer day. And there is a playground for the kids to play at with a water fountin. There is so much to do. So bring your walking shoes, food, fishing rods, bikes, etc and just enjoy a nice time out. And every so often the ice cream man will come around so bring some spare change!!!

This is my happy place! Beautiful comfortable spaces to walk and bike. It seems as if the layout shields well with shade. Even when it's super windy, there's enough protection due to the trees. There are areas to socialize, or to be alone and see very few people. It's all very Zen

I've driven past this park so many times and didn't realize it was even there! Once you turn in and drive down the path, there is a beautiful view of Neshaminy Creek with plenty of picnic benches. The park boasts many different trails that are marked well, and it is heavily trafficked. They also allow people to ride their horses on the trail, so beware of horse droppings! An interesting portion we stumbled upon was a disc golf course. Could be fun for more coordinated people ;).

There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

You could tell the guides truly enjoyed bringing everyone out to this amazing trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG it was worth the money spent to have these guys/gals guide me through the trails. I took tons of pictures and was never rushed at all while taking in the views and photos. This company comes highly recommended amongst the hiking community even out of state.

It was still very early in the season so the trees have not come into their full foliage, but a lot of lovely little spring flowers were popping up along the edges of the trails, the weather was warm. The wind was lovely and the sun was shining. The trails are in desperate need of repair. I am not one for actual built, walking paths through an alleged "Woods" A better name would have been 5 Mile Park. This place very much gave me the vibe of the song Big Yellow Taxi "they took all the trees and put em in a tree museum" the feel of the place was anything, but "woodsy" the entire area was built up with wooden planks and boardwalk style walking trails rather than what one would typically experience in the "Woods". Also, they do not allow dogs. Remember people we can't have dogs running about in the woods. (How absurd) we did encounter some wildlife, several skittering squirrels, and a lovely black snake met us as we crossed the bridge of the stream, I guess he too, was looking for his natural habitat. As the days begin to get longer, the temperatures start to rise and my yearning to be in the outdoors strengthens as these next few months unfold; I will be out and about walking trails and appreciating nature, but I don't think 5 Mile Woods will be where I will be doing it.

I visited on a weekday and perhaps that made all the difference in the world. My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river.

There are BBQ pits for cooking and covered concrete pads for meals and organized activities. I spent a night in a tent with my son here when he was a Cub Scout. The park is named for Chief Tanamend (or Tammeny), the leader of the Turtle Clan of the Lenni Lenapi Native American tribe. There's two main parking lots, both of which seem to lead to large fields and picnic areas. However if you take a short walk behind the park offices you'll find that there are additional trails to hike along, but keep in mind none of these trails are very long. One plus is that this park is never all that crowded, so if you like solitude you'll have a good time. I've often walked the tow path from Yardley to the park and back, which is a great little hike and quite beautiful. The park commemorates George Washington's legendary 1776 crossing of the Delaware River during the Revolutionary War, where he and his troops marched on Trenton and captured the town from British allied Hessian soldiers. It features well preserved historical landmarks and a bunch of exhibits. Visitors can explore the visitor center's museum, which showcases artifacts, interactive displays and there's also a short film detailing the historic event. The park also offers guided tours of the McConkey Ferry Inn and other 18th century buildings, providing a glimpse into colonial life. I also have to mention the annual re-enactment of Washington's crossing, which is a must-see in my opinion. Overall, this is a very nice community asset and cheers to local residents who keep it vibrant and engaging after all these years.

Washington Crossing Historic Park is more than 500 acres, and it has several sections.) The Thompson-Neely Section includes the Thompson-Neely Bridge, the Thompson-Neely House, the Thompson-Neely Grist Mill, and a memorial cemetery (graves of Washington Crossing soldiers). The Thompson-Neely House and grounds served as an encampment site for part of the Continental Army in December 1776. So there's a lot of history here, and you can walk along the Delaware Canal Towpath to each of the sites in this section. It's perhaps not as organized as the main section of the park; there's no visitor center in this section, but it's not too complicated - there's parking near the General Sullivan Pavilion and the house and grist mill, and then you can wander to each of the sites. (I don't recall a map of the section anywhere, but each site is on Google Maps, and that's what I used to make my way between them.) I was at the park in the late afternoon, and I don't think the house or grist mill was open, but I enjoyed walking along the towpath to the memorial cemetery, the bridge, and to see the exterior of the house and grist mill. New Hope has a lot to offer, but Washington Crossing Historical Park is great to include on your itinerary for exploring the area if you want to take in a little local/regional/American history!
