WOW!!! JUST WOW~!!! I came here for the open house and…read moretoured the facility. I think it's pretty safe to say it's a one of a kind (if not the only) non-profit organization / facility that allows you to drop off your child(ren) with special needs, for a day or two on the weekend to allow the parents some time of respite. Absolutely love their mission and the fact that they care specifically for an otherwise marginalized population. They have three "lodges" each with 10 rooms (half singles, half doubles), outdoor playground, pool, indoor gymnasium, chapel, a variety of rooms for computers, music, arts & crafts, sensory stimulation and quite rooms. And practically everything has a theme. It really does look like a kids' paradise...and hopefully it will be. You'll need to register on their website to utilize their services.

From the carefully thought-out interior decor to the doting, compassionate staff, Jill's House is one of the most tangible manifestations of love for a group of children often overlooked by the general public. Jill's House is an overnight respite home for special-needs children. For the kids, it's like a fun sleepover - there's a music room with musical instruments, sing-a-long DVDs, and space to dance, a technology room with touch-screen computers, an art room, a gym, an indoor pool, a playground, and nature-themed "pods" with more games, puzzles, toys, video games, and even a movie screen (tell me you didn't have to take a breath in between reading that list). For the hard-working parents (for whom I have such great respect and admiration), it's a chance for them to have a night to themselves. Furthermore, Jill's House is an incredibly safe place for these children. The intake coordinators are very detailed in recording each individual child's diet restrictions, medical concerns, and methods of communication. They also make sure to give the parents (and the child) a tour of the facility beforehand. The intake coordinators, then, propagate all of this information to the staff who work directly with the children. Now, the staff are a group of people who are not only efficient caretakers, but are also genuinely loving people. It's apparent that the children quickly form bonds with the staff and recognize them when they return. It's heartwarming to witness. I could go on and on, but (as another review has pointed out) it might be easier to just visit the website or call. Ultimately, this facility houses an amazing group of workers and a precious group of kids.

The staff explained they prepare omakase for a set number of guests, so they couldn't accommodate us last-minute. That said, the manager and his staff, our wonderful server completely turned the experience around with their kindness. They comped part of our meal, brought out desserts for my husband's birthday, and even treated me to a mocktail. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the night feel really special. The service was warm and attentive, and we still had an amazing time. I've already booked omakase for next week and can't wait to come back! The place has great vibes. Highly recommend!! At least not in the DMV area where there are simply so many better options. Some friends and I were finally special enough to be granted a reservation and the whole experience was meh. I was a bit late so I checked in at Wren and then was walked back to the elevator to go up to their gym. From there you walk to a door. Once I got there and pulled on the door, a very dissatisfied hostess warned me not to do that. She walked me in and pointed me to an area but that wasn't even where my friends were sitting. Go figure! The decor left a lot to be desired and it was super bright inside. Right away the vibe was off. What speakeasy is bright? Definitely none that I've been to before. We each just ordered a drink and split an appetizer before dinner reservations at Wren. Once again, the drinks were not special at all. The Tokyo Reverie was somewhat drinkable, with Takumi being our least favorite. The server was somewhat friendly. Based on this experience, I have no desire to go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

If you're a Bachata and Merengue fan, go right ahead, however,…read more My wife and I went out Saturday night (4/11/26) to celebrate our wedding anniversary, looking for a great salsa spot in the DMV. As Cubans, salsa is part of who we are, so we were really excited. We chose The Salsa Room based on a recommendation--and honestly, it was a huge disappointment. First off, they should seriously consider renaming it to "The Bachata and Merengue Room." If you're a true salsa lover, this is not the place. We arrived around 8:30 PM and had to sit through bachata classes that went on until about 10:20 PM before anything close to open dancing started. Their Salsa selection is just Marc Anthony. No real good salsa "de la mata." The food situation was just as frustrating. Their website shows a full menu, but when we got there, we were handed a very limited menu with only a few options. For what we ordered--2 small tacos, a chicken quesadilla, 2 margaritas, and 2 beers--we paid around $120. To make matters worse, they automatically charged a 20% tip despite poor service. Definitely not something you expect, especially when the experience doesn't match the price. Bottom line: if you're serious about salsa, save your time and money and go somewhere else.

From…read morestart to finish, Iman and his team did absolutely everything they could do to make the wedding planning process seamless and our wedding day exactly how we imagined. We were planning our wedding during the pandemic and things were constantly uncertain as to whether or not the wedding would be able go to on. Iman and DJ Kia had routine calls with us to check-in and offer advice. We knew we could trust their opinions and flexility during the uncertain times. On the day of the wedding, DJ Kia was so involved with every aspect of the ceremony and reception. He knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to make our wedding day an unforgettable experience. He literally orchestrated our ceremony processional and was making sure everything was running smoothly. Everyone felt at ease walking down the aisle because DJ Kia was there to send them off. We were lucky enough to have Iman MC our wedding, and believe us when we tell you he knows how to put on a show. The dance floor comes alive with Iman on stage and everyone was out of their seats and dancing the entire night. Our cocktail hour ended up going over schedule, which pushed back our reception. It was no worry though, because Iman was there to quickly restructure the timeline and ensure everything ran smoothly. Even with unexpected issues, we felt completely at ease knowing he had us covered. He is such a genuine person who truly cares about his client's happiness. We also used Night Owls for our video production and working with them was a truly pleasant experience. They captured every aspect of the wedding beautifully. In just a few short weeks, we had our trailer and wedding video created, both of which were edited to our liking. They were extremely patient with us throughout the process and the end result is videos we still can't stop watching! Thank you to Brandon and the team at Night Owls for all of their hard work. We also want to give a special thanks to Wake on the sax, Farzan on the drums, and Cyrus on the cello. These three gentleman made the music come alive and our guests could not stop raving about how talented they were. My wife and I still talk about just how great it was working with Exclusively Entertainment and we would absolutely recommend them for your events!

There's always a couple of old-timers sitting at the end of the bar, lamenting the youth of today, and retelling stories of their glory days. It's always lots of fun to listen, and sometimes the stories get funnier or grander with each retelling. For big games, the crowd grows and patrons root for their team, making the bar area roar with noise when someone scores. You know--just some good dudes. Breakfast is definitely the best meal at the Legion, unless there is a picnic barbecue. Farm-fresh eggs, grilled to order meats, pancakes and French toast. Breakfast sandwiches are pretty good as well and you just can't beat the price. $9 for steak and eggs with a sirloin as big as my palm with fingers extended. If you're a veteran looking for a community legion hall where everyone knows everyone and you're never a stranger, give post 180 a try. Chances are, you'll feel right at home from the first moment you walk in.

Dear American Legion Hqtrs,…read more The Commander of the Sons from Post 180, in Vienna Virginia was harassing and threatening. This is completely unacceptable. I don't appreciate being cussed at and threatened. This all occurred because of their inability to locate the on loan Painting. I have attempted to contact the Post Commander about this with no success. I notified the Chief of Police in Vienna Virginia as well as the Mayor and Town Manager. If this is an example of your leadership, then I recommend training in civility. Dave At appx 5:40 pm , Saturday 24 August 2019, I went inside Post 180 to check on status of my membership card. I've been waiting since March this year. I've been a Sons Member in the past. I sent a check for $40.00 then after two months of waiting, sent cash and asked for my check to be sent back, which they did. The person serving at the bar, looked at two of the members, one of which was Phil Dunn, the other, the Commander of the Sons. I asked Phil if he was concerned about my puppy and pulled out my ADA paperwork. The Sons Commander started yelling at me and cussing telling me to "get the hell out of his post, I'm the Commander and you're not a member." I said I sent my $40.00 to which he replied it was sent back to me. I said it was never sent back. He then repeated "get the hell out of my post. I'm calling 911." I never raised my voice. I told Phil I was not combative. The Sons Commander said "You have your 'Gxxx Dxxx' painting. Get the hell out of here." I had provided on loan, a Giclee Painting of which was no longer there and upon inquiry, several times, finally reached the Post 180 Commander, Jason at Viva Vienna. A week or so later when checking on my membership card, the giclee painting was at the bar area. No one had contacted me. Angel, at the bar presented it back to me. Maybe as a result of this, they're reflecting their own embarrassment but it's not acceptable to treat anyone like that. I felt threatened and harassed. Dave Minyard
