The aide at night, checked with my mom to make sure that watching tv or having a light on wouldn't disturb her sleep and wanted to stay nearby so she could respond quickly to my mom's needs during the night. The aide during the day encouraged my mom to walk around and to get up. They went out to sit in the sunshine and look at the flowers. Later she helped my mom take a shower, just because she thought that my mom would feel better after a nice shower. I was impressed with how they cared for my mom the way I try to care for her. I felt that they met her immediate needs but also cared for her as a person, meeting her emotional needs too. No experience is ever perfect and working with a company for the first time, especially when it comes to caregiving, is a learning experience.
