Firstly, they were able to accommodate me ASAP and it worked with my afterwork hours (i really appreciated that). Secondly, I was assigned Priya as my hairdresser yesterday and she immediately took me to her clean workstation and started to do a consult with me. I only had to use a few basic words, and she was able to show me pictures of her clients. We planned the style together and adjusted as we went along. Not only is she so kind, professional, and accommodating but she made me feel like her sister by the end. She took her time; she made me feel comfortable throughout and I would definitely recommend her again and to everyone in need of a professional & clean cut. Not that I'm looking for compliments, but as soon as I came into work this AM everyone was compliments the cut and said that it suits me so well. Thank you, Priya!!!!

I've heard so many mixed reviews about this place, mostly negative reviews however these two made me feel like this salon was the best. Yes, that's how good they were. Two of my best friends went back and each of them had a different experience. One friend went to Marie, and she said she was amazing. Another friend got a balayage done, but I forgot who did it for her. It was horrifying! Honestly it's a hit or miss, but make sure you do your research before you go, because a lot of people complain from the services they get done here. The front desk staff is RUDE! I spoke to someone named Amanda who seemed kind over the phone and she told me to come in for a consult, however the next day when I came in, another girl was being blunt and really rude saying oh who told you to come in and what not. I've been coming to this hair salon so often and never experienced that. Oh well, they lost one of their valuable customers. I should have listened to all my friends when they complained about this place. If your getting your hair done, I suggest you go to Marie, if not don't go at all.

I was able to see the difference immediately after the first session. After spending over $1,000 a lot of the hair grows back just as thick as it did before and in some places not so much. As for the service: When I come here I feel like I'm getting quality service with integrity, and Hoda is super gentle. Just to give you a heads up this service is set in an unrelated business office. Hoda has two rooms rented out here for her various services. Dont expect a spa setting. However, your skin or hair follicles dont know the difference (about the setting), so it doesnt matter. I would also recommend booking 1 or 2 sessions ahead if possible. I recommend this place.

Experience: As a new client of Karisma, I was very impressed with the service that Hoda provided to me. I went in for my first session for laser hair removal on Feb. 14th. I initially was only going in to get my underarms, but thanks to Hoda, I ended up doing all three small areas. The procedure only took 30 min. and that is for three areas. Hoda started with the paper work or admin. stuff and walked me through how we would proceed and she also took the time to explain her machines. Her newest machine is impeccable. It's performance is amazing, I barely felt anything except for a warm glaze of heat. We started my first session at a higher setting and my skin was fine, where we didn't see any inflammation or red skin. Hoda was very pleasant to work with; she approached my appointment in a professional and friendly manner. She offers many other services, in which I cannot wait to try, like photofacials. As a side note, just in case you forgot to shave a certain area or two, Hoda does offer to shave off the hair on those areas to treat. Razors are clean and disposable. Price: The cost of her services are manageable and much more affordable than other like competitors that offer similar services, such as laser hair removal. Aside from Groupon, she openly offers the same promotion in her clinic. I have three small areas to be treated by Hoda. During your appointment, you can either bring a print version of your groupon or present it from your phone, where she can scan the barcode. Please keep in mind that you have to pay for taxes during your visit. Don't forget to tip!* Location: Karisma MediSpa is located near McCowan/Ellesmere; minutes away from Scarborough Town Centre and the McCowan RT station. During weekends, there are certain procedures to enter the building, and that information can be obtained from Hoda. It's very easy finding the building; it is on the North side of St. Louis Bar and Grill. The clinic is located on the 7th floor. If you are taking the TTC; you can either exit from the mall from the Cineplex side and walk past the YMCA (3min) or exit from the McCowan RT station (3-4min). Verdict: Whether it's your first time getting laser hair removal or you're an avid experienced user, I highly recommend going to Hoda at Karisma. She's very gentle, knowledgeable, and friendly. I received both filler and dysport injections without any numbing creams and it was totally not painful. The nurse was very gentle and made me feel comfortable the whole time. I cannot stress how lovely everyone was! My second time around I wanted to go back on short notice but the nurse is there every two weeks (only downside) and I was in a rush so I booked elsewhere - big mistake! I went to another medical spa and they totally ruined my under eye, ended up with bubbling and a tyndall effect which they refused to correct. My 3rd cosmetic experience I went back to Goldberg and I am still kicking myself for going elsewhere to begin with. Under normal circumstance no one would do the correction (I had called several places) but the staff at Goldberg are so kind they helped me to fix my issue and then some. I cannot thank Christina and Iryna enough for being so kind. I've learned my lesson and would never go anywhere else. The lady who did my face was very kind and considerate. Since I have sensitive skin, she gave me a peel with 20% and she would ask me very often how I'm feeling and whether the peel was . The "peel" doesn't hurt. It's more like a thin cream applied on your face that tingles like if you put lemon juice on your face. It didn't (and shouldn't) burn. And since mine was 20%, it wouldn't leave my face peeling, but would make it smooth instead. Whole process only took about 10-15mins. Would come back here again!

During the peel, there was a light tingling sensation but nothing burning. The staff who helped me was there the whole time asking me how the peel felt to make sure everything was ok. My lovely wife decided that she wanted to do a couples massage and was recommended by a friend to go here for the 'inexpensive' cost. Additionally as our workplaces cover the total cost of a RMT licensed massage; based on her friends recommendation of we decided to go. As far as environment and ambiance not a ton of bells and whistles here. There is a nail salon set up in the front along with a couple of hooks to hang up your jacket but I wouldn't hang my jacket up there as it's by the door and would be easily stolen. A person who appeared to work there seemed to be hanging around and didn't look up when we entered the store. Someone else ran in frantically within a few minutes and asked who we were and if we had an appointment (we did). After a 5 step walk to a room we were advised to change and lie on the tables. Two massage therapists proceeded to walk in promptly and asked what we wanted to have done as this business gives you the option to change what you originally had booked. Wife had aromatherapy and I selected a full body massage which I would later regret. We were both asked if there were areas that we needed to be focused on I said right side of my back and my wife said lower back. Can I let you know that neither therapist focused on the areas requested? Then began probably the more interesting 60 min of my life... The massage therapist proceeded to pull my boxers down lower to the point where my bare behind was exposed. Having had a couple massages in my lifetime previously I wasn't sure if this this was a bit out of the norm however I figured this was just to get to my lower back. I quickly found out that wasn't a case. I attempted several times to pull up my boxers up and the therapist wasn't taking the non-verbal hint. The only reason I didn't make up a fuss was due to the shock of it all. After 20 minutes of a very interesting..butt massage the rest of the massage went decently...except the part where her knee was massaging my head and her fingers were in my ears massaging my temples (It just didn't seem normal to me) The warm towel to wipe away the oils used were decent, nothing spectacular. HOWEVER when it was over and put back on my clothes I felt like I was walking on clouds Thus I felt so conflicted: the way the massage was preformed left me feeling great however the techniques used were so questionable. Side note it was 80 dollars for the hour per person without a groupon but this may be holiday pricing Conclusively I can't say I would go back on my own just because of how I felt from a comfort standpoint BUT if I was in a pinch and in discomfort I would grin my teeth and bare it, as its 110 dollars less than most places downtown. Personally I would rate this place 2.5 stars outta 5 BUT #yelp doesn't allow for half marks sadly. I don't think this place is as bad as the 1 star rating I saw on the page but this is still no #ElmwoodSpa which is my top end standard of massage parlors I've attended
