During the coldest time of the year, last January 9 my furnace stopped working. I called my hvac technician, we explored the Furnace and could not find a problem, my propane tank was a little low, but not nearly empty... I had the tank filled up by Amerigas and the service technician left. Still no heat in my home, outside temperatures below zero. my furnace repairman came out again and discovered that the pressure regulator that belong to Amerigas was not working, probably frozen, he hit it and got it flowing! My frustration comes that I later found out that frozen pressure regulator was obsolete, (no longer recommended for use) the Amerigas technician, didn't check it and was content to leave me in the cold. At those temperatures, this could've been life or death. Do not trust this company, they are dangerous in how much they just don't care!

I called to get quotes on 2 100# tanks of propane for our shop heaters (we already get tow motor fuel) and was told "we don't sell that".?????? What do you sell to residences and campers then?.... I tried to email a local branch through their website and received absolutely no response. I'm in the process of moving our company away from this company and would advise anyone else to do the same and/or don't start doing business with them in the first place.

Cancelled service today when I called for a fill and was told it was 3.11 a gallon. Received a call after canceling and was told there is a 59.99 tank removal fee. Just made me glad to cancel. Salem propane told me no fees and their price is 2.15 a gallon. Thank you Salem propane. Just called Amerigas to set up tank removal and was told there is 149.00 pump out fee with no refund for what's in tank, which is 100.00 gallons!!! Also was told we'd owe the 59.00 removal fee. Talk about CROOKS!!! 100 gallons at their prices, wow, they really are desperate to get money. Well considering they lost another good customer, ME. And you best believe I will let anyone and everyone know, "DO NOT HAVE AMERIGAS FOR YOUR PROPANE COMPANY."

I rented a van loaded everything into it, drove it to New Bern and then back up to Akron. The woman who worked there was very helpful and kind! The second time I came here, I needed a hitch installed so that I could rent a small U-Haul trailer and take my belongings to South Carolina. I had received the runaround from other U-Haul locations (even though I made appointments and prepaid!), and finally this location could get me in. I'm giving them only 3-stars because they did stop in the middle of my hitch installation to do another installation, then finished mine. I had to wait for several hours at this store because of the delay. This wasted a lot of my packing time, and I was under a strict time constraint due to my children starting school. I couldn't leave because they were installing the hitch on my vehicle, so I would've had to Uber home, and I wasn't sure how long they were going to take on the other guy's hitch installation. What if I Ubered home and then immediately called me to tell me it was ready? That was a risk of money and time wasting that I wasn't willing to take. Additionally, I had to come back the next day and get the ball for the hitch, because even though I paid for it, the installer did not put it on for me nor give it to me. It was a hassle that I did not have time for nor need in the middle of an out-of-state move!

When brought it up to the manager, Ross, he claimed the employee was new but refused to refund the additional charges. He was also bragging about how much his property was worth. Laughed (literally) at my disappointment over the unjustified charges. His head was so big and full of air I'm surprised it didn't float away! Honestly the kind of person that others avoid. Staff was also rude. Never had a bad experience with UHaul before but will certainly NEVER visit this location again.
