Went to pick up our 9 foot van this morning. Got there and the worker told us that we could not get that van because we reserved it for too many days and they don't allow that. He opted for us to pay for a higher priced box truck, When we told him we made this reservation a week ago, and that was not an option for us financially, he said we were SOL. When we turned around to walk out, he came flying outside, jumped in a U-Haul van drove it at least 30 mph within a 20 foot to 30 foot area in the dark at 7 AM hitting his own U-Haul, moving trailer, completely crushing over the hitch. Then proceeded to yell at us and tell us to get off his property. This is all while I am nine months pregnant with a five-year-old in a four-year-old in the car. I called U-Haul prior to my back surgery and they installed a hitch on my 2016 Challenger, all seemed well at the time. After my recovery which was a year, I hooked up my boat to find the blinkers are wire backwards. So, I scheduled an appointment with U-Haul since they have a lifetime warrenty. I let them know I have a trip scheduled for the weekend and need this corrected. We scheduled for Friday. I get a call at 7:30 am saying their installer had called out and we needed to reschedule. I let her know this was not going to work for me and that I would have to fix it myself to keep my weekend schedule. She let me know that would void my warranty. I have a problem with companies that have subpar employees that do terrible work and call out on a regular basis. Do not go to this location as they do not care about the client. Not to mention, making the appointment was crazy as they do not answer their phones for days. Hope this helps for anyone looking to get a hitch put on. read more

I got into town to take care of a property we own. My daughter needed to take a few things to storage so we needed a van or small box truck. I walked in on Sunday morning and told them what I needed. They happened to have a van so I took that for the day. The price was very fair and the staff was professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Easy out and easy return! Just like it should be! I turned my uhaul in 2 hours late after a 5 day trip. A week later I was charged $177 for an extra 3 days! The person who I turned my truck into told me after I handed her the keys "okay thank you. You can go and we will email you a receipt." I didn't think much of it until I got this charge a week later. With the charge came a receipt with the accurate turn in date!! How are you going to send me a receipt for charging me for an extra 3 days and have it say on the receipt my; checkout date and time, days allowed, and my turn in date and time - (I'll add a picture but I'll have to block my personal information and cc) I am currently working with her associate on getting my money back. I reserved a 4x8 enclosed trailer 2 months ago and was told 3 days before I am supposed to be leaving that they have NO trailers anywhere in the state! 3 days! I used this particular U haul to pick up my U-Box shipping containers, which were shipped from California. I met with the Manager James, who guided me thru the whole U-Box experience. James had my boxes available for me to tow at the allotted time! He is very punctual. James hooked up the trailer to our vehicle and we were off to drop our items. We had a total of three boxes. When we showed up with an empty box, James unloaded the empty box and loaded a full box in a matter of minutes! I couldn't believe it, so efficient! He did the same with the 3rd box. I scheduled to have a trailer hitch installed and made an appointment a week in advance for 7am the following Saturday. When I dropped my van at 7am, they told me that they didn't have the part and that they were expecting it at noon. I stopped in at noon since I hadn't heard from them and they told me that they hadn't gotten the part and that they would call to update me. It is now Monday, 2 days later at 1:30 pm, and I can't get anyone on the phone to give me an update on the status of my van. The national U-Haul customer service line has had me in a loop for the last 30 minutes. I am planning to get a ride back to the shop to pick up my van. First of all the employees here define the word employee. They should learn to take some ownership of the company because the owners are not present to help. This is in regards to their problem-solving skills which are minimal. Their solution for me not having my credit card was for me to drive all the way home and get it. I had to talk them into a much better solution as that was the only one they would consider at first. Like they can't think for themselves. On my next visit I checked in express online because of my medical condition I do not wish to wear a mask. The employee at the front desk was extremely rude yelling at me across the room I can't be in there without a mask. When I explained that I had checked in online for that reason he/she reluctantly accommodated me but we're not very accommodating actually because they made me wait much longer and were extremely rude about it. Companies try to say they don't discriminate for medical reasons but this clearly was just that. I even did my part in checking in online paying and verifying my driver's license online. When I got to my pickup location for the truck they gave me my truck and receipt but did not tell me they had refunded me $61 for the trailer transport since they didn't have it. The staff here was literally lifeless and ignored me while sitting with their feet up and drinking soda (seriously, no joke, check the cameras) and made me walk around alone through their lot to find my truck. Then when I got to my ubox that I was unloading there, I found that it was broken into. Nothing was taken, but this is not okay- the staff couldn't have cared less. Refunding my transport cost created loads of errors when I had to go pick up my trailer at another location- they over charged me there, and now I am stuck with that. I didn't pay online and check in early to have to clean up all of your messes for HOURS. This is not appropriate. I am not paid to do this. Please talk to the staff at the Bremerton Location about their demeanor, attitude, and ability to explain what they are doing to contracts before they kick their feet up and sip their drinks. read more

WARNING: Take the time and make a big production out of walking around the vehicle inspecting for damage BEFORE you depart. Do NOT walk away from the vehicle upon return, at all, until it has been inspected. Even what looks to you like a scuff may be called new damage if it is not marked already with an X. Bought the insurance, which only covers over the "deductible" of $150. They will kindly add this deductible to your bill. Three and again two years ago: They told me I had a classic "getting a door opened into you" ding. Only problem was we were nowhere near anywhere near any other cars during the couple hours we had it. Its not so cheap anymore when they keep your deposit. Go with two or three people, and never leave the rented vehicle until you have cashed out! Makes me want to start a truck rental place. read more

Beware. We had confirmed, online reservations for an outdoor 10-foot by 10-foot storage unit for more than a month at U-Haul Storage of Bremerton and Gorst. Since we need it in less than a week, we tried to pay for it over the phone and to get the codes we needed. We were told one of us needs to go to U-Haul Moving & Storage of Bremerton on Kitsap Way to do the paperwork and pay in person. After I arrived, confirmed the reservation, confirmed the reservation number and filled out the paperwork, I was told they overbooked our storage unit, and we were given the option of two, inside storage units of the same size, but for almost $30 more a month. When I questioned it, I was told three other people had reservations on the same storage unit -- one of them came in before us. I pointed out that it wasn't right. We had no idea. I asked if we could get the indoor unit at the same price as the one we reserved, and I was told no, "We can't do that." I asked to speak with the manager, but I was told, "I'll get him, but he'll tell you the same thing."   And he did. The manager, on duty at the time, did say the same thing. I said it wasn't right, and he said "We have two inside storage units -- do you want one or not?" I said, "I don't really have a choice as we're screwed if we don't have one." I pulled out my credit card to pay and said, "That's quite the scam you guys have." I was agitated, but didn't even raise my voice. And again, I was willing to pay. The manager, named Anthony, kicked me out of the store, said nothing further and left the office. I asked the remaining desk staff for business cards of him and his manager, and he didn't have any. I went outside and saw Anthony and I asked him for business cards, and he said "We don't have any." I asked for his name in writing, he just said, "If you don't leave this property I'll call the cops." I filed formal complaints with the BBB NW office and the state attorney general's office. My girlfriend, who was on the phone with me when they kicked me out also filed a formal complaint with U-Haul. This is a scam ... and pathetic customer service. read more

They sent me a confirmation to pick a truck up in Poulsbo. their customer service did nothing for me except tell me too bad if you don't do a round trip it's what you get. I set another reservation to pick up a trailer in Bremerton which I check in for online so I cancel the truck. I walk up to the counter and am told we don't have a confirmation for you. she calls customer service and they say they don't have one close I would have to go to Seattle. WTF. so now there is no uhaul to move households which the company doesn't care if you are out of luck or not. their customer service sucks and I wont use the again. 2 out of my 3 experiences here were pretty unsatisfactory. My first experience was just dropping off a trailer after moving up here. That was fine. But recently we wanted to get a small 4x8 trailer to pick up a futon in town. I thought it would be very straightforward. They handle walk-in pick-ups, but I decided to call ahead just to make sure they had 4x8 trailers available. I hate waiting through automated voice options and "please hold until the next available service representative can speak to you," and wait I did. When a live person finally picked up and said in the most unenthusiastic, monotonous voice "Thank you for calling U-Haul, where we.... [some long memorized slogan]"... I thought it was still an automated voice until she said her name and asked (again very unenthusiastically) how she could help. I told her we were on our way to pick up a 4x8 trailer and just wanted to make sure there was one available. She mumbled something inaudible then didn't say anything for a while. I heard rustling in the background so I assumed she was looking up stuff, but she didn't answer at all when I repeatedly asked if she was still there. After a few minutes of this, I gave up, hung up, and tried to call again. Automated voice again. Ugh. At this point we were almost at the U-Haul, so I just hung up, hoping that the in-person customer service would be better. It was not. When we walked in, the one employee there was on the phone, so we waited patiently. After waiting a while, we finally called in another employee to help us. This guy was probably new, because he had no idea what he was doing. What should have been a very simple, quick rental ended up taking forever. The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is that in general I appreciate how U-Haul does make moving easy and affordable. It's only $15 to rent a 4x8 trailer (which is plenty of space for most things) for 24 hours in-town. I just hope customer service at this location gets it together by the next time I need to go there. read more

She has locked me out of my unit for almost 3 days now claiming that I posted an ad for a sale- a "sale" I was not there to conduct and my unit was never even cracked open during the hours she claims I posted. Wouldn't I have shown up to sell things info were having a sale? In the same sentence that she accused me of this BS lie she made sure to let me know that she was fully aware that 2 weeks prior I had filed a complaint with corporate because the security alarms haven't worked for the past 2 years. I'm certain that she was the one who posted the ad to begin with. There weren't even any pictures of the items for sale. But there was never a sale and she knows this because of the the camera footage and my rent isn't even due yet so im not late, yet she has held my belongings hostage for 72 hours and counting. No resolution from corporate after 6 calls, 5 hours spent on hold or talking on the phone trying to get someone to actually help me retrieve my items. What she has done, by keeping my belongings from me, is stealing. But thats nothing new for this uhaul- according to one of their lazier employees, their facilities have been plagued by many many break ins over the past couple of years. No arrests have been made. How is no one looking at the twit who is a fentanyl addict and hasn't had the alarms on for the past 2 years? Its not rocket science here. The first and best defense against burglaries is an alarm system- each unit is supposed to have its own individual alarm- but its not on. Wasn't on tonight even after all my complaining. Theres no fence, no onsite employee, I don't think the cameras work And i know for certain the alarms don't work. Your belongings are not safe. Do not rent a storage unit there. read more

Got a call saying the parts were not in and would be there by 9:30am. Went back and retrieved my car, told them to call when part showed up. Got call an hour later saying parts were not coming and could not get them for 2 weeks. Dont you think someone might have called before I took the whole day off? Then I went home and ordered the parts online for 1 week delivery. Original price with parts AND labor was $348, Now Uhaul wants to charge me $440 for the job, NOT INCLUDING PARTS. Stay away from this place unless you are looking for the towns worst customer service. I kid you not!! I have had the misfortune to have to use this place at least 5 times in the past few years do to my lack of prior planning. Each time I visit, I think the service couldn't possibly be as bad as last time. Unfortunately, I am wrong each time. This place must have a screening process to hire, employ, and reward the rudest and least customer service oriented people on the planet. If you think I'm exaggerating, give them a try, you will see. If it was once, maybe twice, I could probably understand a little bit, hey, its a truck rental business not a restaurant. OK, maybe it was just a rogue employee, bad day, whatever. Nope!!!! This place just simply employs the absolute rudest people in town and have since I first had the displeasure of using them around 5-6 years ago. The ONLY reason I continue(d) to use them whatsoever is that they are conveniently located and usually have a larger truck for rent for a good price on short notice. But, boy do you end up paying the difference when it comes to customer service and friendliness. I was so angry last time I used this location UHAUL, I was ready to call up the corporate ladder and let somebody know how poor I am treated each and every time I have to use this place and get some heads to roll. However, after I cooled down I figured it was a huge waste of time. If they had a decent company with good management, something would have changed over the years ive had to use this place. EVERY time, without exception, I have rented a truck here or talked to anybody else that had ever used them its the same customer service horror stories. That tells me I'm not the only person with this poor of an experience there, they are already aware of and don't care enough to change anything, and im wasting my time. And the craziest part of all of these experiences Is that it's either a manager that helps me or it's a different employee than the previous visit that is ruder than the last. This place has no better customer service or friendliness on the phone than they do in person. Just to be fair, I have noticed a couple employees that were working there that appeared to be friendly and helpful to other customers, but they must get fired or quit. You would think I would have been lucky enough to have one of these cordial employees help me just once on one of my vists rather than one of these shining stars that have no clue how to treat customers, make them feel important, and most importantly, keep them returning and referring other, but.... Nope... Im not that lucky. A few positive things I feel I should include to be fair to anybody that has read this far. The trucks are usually pretty clean, properly stocked with moving supplies if you pay for them, and overall in decent shape mechanically and appearance for moving trucks. They do seem to have a good selection of trucks on hand at any given time since the only time I have to use them is when I fail to properly Pre plan my truck rental somewhere else. Truck check in and all other aspects with respect to their truck rental side of the business is satisfactory and I have no complaints. In fact, if it wasn't for the repeated terrible customer service and personal treatment I've had as well as other friends and family, this place would be pretty good. However, management needs some serious training on proper customer service and friendliness and then needs to train or hire employees that can perform this relatively simple skill as well. Do that and this place would get a 4-5 star rating from me. As it is, I'm doubtful anything will change over there or it would have by now. If you can find another option at one of the other moving/rental companies for just a few bucks more, PAY the extra and stay away from this place. The bad taste they leave in your mouth is not worth saving $5, trust me. I've used Budget truck rental up on 6th St located in the MAX RPM building several times recently and they have always excelled where this location of UHAUL has failed. Trucks can be a little dirty, but worth checking out first. We moved to Tacoma on Sunday. I reserved a U-Haul truck online for a 730am remote pickup at the Bremerton store on Kitsap Way. I called on Saturday late afternoon I spoke with a gentleman who said the truck was ready. I asked if it had the appliance dolly and he stated he had forgotten that but would go out and put it in the truck. When we got there at 730a and signed in online it stated there was a problem on there end. We called U-Haul and was told there was a problem with the remote pick up and that we would have to come back at 900a when the store opened. We had family come from an hour away to meet us at the house by 800a. We went back to the U-Haul store at 900a and were helped by a female with long dark hair. We were told that the reason we couldn't pick up our truck before was because it had been returned late the night before. I asked why they wouldn't have called and informed us and she didn't know. She also couldn't answer why I was told the day before everything was ready. When our paperwork was done she pointed out the window to the only truck parked in front and stated it was our truck and handed us the keys. I asked if the appliance dolly was there she said no and went outside to get it. We walked outside my husband climbed inside while she put the appliance dolly in the back and then she went back inside. The truck was already running when my husband climbed in. I asked him what the keys were for since there were already keys in the ignition. We flagged down another female worker with shoulder length brown hair. First she didn't know. Then she said it was the wrong truck and that our truck was across the street in a gravel parking lot and we could wait while she went to get that truck. I refused stating I did not want to wait any longer. That we were already behind schedule and that we wanted this truck. She went inside and discussed this finally saying we could take this truck and that she would have a new contract with the updated truck # emailed to us shortly. I never received the email and had to call U-Haul 5 hrs later requesting one. I was worried because the contract we had did not have the correct truck # and I didn't want any problems with drop off. When I called requesting the email I asked about U-Hauls guarantee. Which states if you do not get the truck by the guaranteed time you get a $50 refund. She stated I had to call back after the truck was returned. I called today requesting the refund and was told a manager would call me back. He did call but informed me I do not qualify for the refund because the truck was there ready at 730a. He doesn't know why someone told us it wasn't ready due to a late return. And he stated that you did not get the refund if there was a problem with the remote pick up. I did everything I was supposed to do. U-Haul does not care about poor customer service or any inconvenience this caused me. My daughter used Enterprise when she moved last year and you can be sure I will use another service next time. #uhaul. read more

Lousy service, long wait time, never answer their phones, no customer service provided. Every time you call this place you get put on hold for minimum 15 to 30 minutes only to get hung up on or be told there is nothing they can do to help. This can be very frustrating when you have your whole life's worth of belongings in the back of their trucks that you are being charged by the day and the mile for use and you are locked out of your storage units that you have paid several hundreds of dollars in rental fee's. All they had to do was help us to gain access to our units so we could unload our truck. They could've easily exchanged our 2nd floor unit reservation for one on the first floor but apparently that was too difficult for them to figure out. I asked the little girl who works at the Gorst Storage facility if she could just shoot me a text when they get the elevator fixed to let us know when we can come back and unload, since we were coming from far away and were being charged by the mile for the trucks but she said "NOPE". Wow, what AWESOME customer service. Any NORMAL business manager would have said yes, sure, of course, absolutely, no problem at all. We will send you a text or give you a call as soon as the doors and elevators are fixed so you can come and unload your trucks. Would that really be too much to ask? Considering how much money it cost to rent five storage units and a 20' truck for a week! Total BS! Uhaul, please train your site managers on customer service. Would give no stars of I could. We booked a uhaul for our out of state move. The day we get there I am told that they double booked and the truck we needed was unavailable. We opted for a smaller uhaul, and recieved a discount which we were pleased. We verified with the gentlemen several times that a dolly was included with our uhaul. We drove away with our uhaul 30 minutes to our destination only to find no dolly, and have to go right back another 30 min both ways. Currently have movers waiting at our house that we are paying.
