Took me awhile to figure that out, but like all rental businesses, because some people fault to return equipment on time and UHaul loves to promise to pickup equipment from one place and you end up at another. Also, remember you are on the west side and not on the Seattle side. There's far less options and higher demand for the equipment on this side as people ebb and flow in and out of Bainbridge. It's always good to support your local dealer as much as you can.

Recommend reading all of the policy signs (Loss Damage Waiver, credit card hold fee, etc) before renting so you are informed since they don't really review these policies with you as stand procedure; Or just ask questions about them at time of rental.

She supposedly took my info and claimed there would be a $10 reservation fee that would apply to my first months rent. When I arrived to move in to the unit, there was no record of my reservation and they gave away my requested unit and gave me a horrible unit that had a small door and was in a corner which made it difficult for me to move my large objects. It took almost 45 minutes for the girl to open my account and she kept having to call the manger at home with questions. Then she didn't enter my credit card appropriately and it kept declining and she called the manager again and put her on the phone with me and she talked down to me like I was some low-life and told me that she would allow me to move my belongings into the unit but I needed to bring her cash within 24 hours. I called my bank to find out what the problem was with the credit card and it turned out the clueless girl was not entering the security code for proper authorization. Once she did the card went through. What a joke. By then it was begging to get dark and we had wasted too much time. The next week I stopped in to talk with the manager about my disappointment with the check-in process, and she lied right to my face about the whole thing. Not just once but twice. When I expressed my concern that I had asked for a heated unit, which it clearly states on the website that they have heated units, she said we don't have heated units, but they are kept out of the elements so they are climate controlled. What a joke. She said she couldn't make any monetary adjustments to my account but could give me a 20% discount on a rental truck in the future. Again, what a joke. I could get a coupon for 20%off a Budget truck rental online. I would highly recommend you store your belongings somewhere else. The management at Pacific Storage is awful. I could go on with other problems, but I think this gives you enough of an idea of the poor customer service you should expect.

I'm kind of torn about what to give this place…read more I needed a truck on a Saturday morning to swap some furniture from my storage unit to my home. Uhaul, Budget, everyone was already booked up. Handy Andy gets bonus points for being able to accommodate me without an advance reservation. They also got us checked out quickly and charged the same rental fee as the other "big boys." The subtraction point is because the truck was an absolute junker. There was a hole in the driver's seat so big I could put my whole arm through it all the way to the floor. The truck cab was filthy. The cargo area floor was ripping up and there was no ramp. The truck was making a horrible noise - as if a belt was about to go. It felt like the suspension and shocks were totally shot. We had to be extra careful about using enough furniture padding and tie-downs. The place itself is an absolute dump. A literal junkyard. We left there wondering about the company's worker's comp history. There are tools hanging hap-hazardly all over the walls, multiple story shelves and an enormous crazy-hot totally open space heater that would have caught my pants on fire if I had been unfortunate enough to back into it while in line. The guys were nice enough and I did get a last-minute truck. But yeesh - what a rundown dump.

We got a call 40 minutes before pick up saying the trucks had a leak and they were sending a new one but were running like an hour to an hour and a half behind. We call after an hour and a half and the lady says she doesn't know how close the new truck is but also the tow dolly would be upgraded to one with no wheels on the ground because we were towing my jeep. After that call we waited TWO more hours almost before our truck was there. and somehow???? there was NO DOLLY. that we paid for. we were told there was a miscommunication and we will have to come back a different day to pick it up. but still had to pay for it? and not only that, was it not thought about that we have to pay for gas to take the truck home then back to that location to get the dolly hooked up. The lady told us it would no longer even be the upgraded one. Never again with Penske. Next time we will use uhaul. We picked this one because reviews were better, but what a shit show.

We did a walk through, we all got to work and got things packed up faster than I had anticipated. I have a giant glass reptile enclosure that I was very nervous about moving, but they understood the assignment and my reptile and her glass mansion arrived intact! They were so courteous, worked with precision and took care of my belongings. At the end they made sure I was happy and if there was anything else I wanted done before they left. Was told they had the reservation and told the guy we would be back right at 7a on 12/31/22. Confirmed they would be open at that time, and yes. Arrived a little after 7a, and they are closed. Called Uhaul and was told they were on holiday hours and would not open until 8a. Minor in incidence, but okay we will stick around and wait. Waited until 10-minutes after 8a, still nobody there. Called the number, straight to voice mail. Had to transfer reservation to a different facility, which thru off the day because we had certain things scheduled assuming the 7a pickup time they told us was gonna work. NOPE Would not use that facility again for renting Uhauls. Not really sure if they just don't care, or are simply not interested in being helpful. BUT, if you know your hours are gonna change MAYBE let the customer know.

The man behind the counter was having some computer difficulties but said he would figure it out and there would be no problem. I needed to pick the unit up at noon and return at noon tomorrow. That was clearly communicated during the reservation process. Today I go to pick up the U-Haul at noon and there is a sign on the window that they are closed until 1:00pm. Because we were going to Everett to move we were in a time crunch with the ferries and lining up with the help on that side so I had to find another UHaul location that was out of my way to get the right size truck for the job. When I called to let someone there know about the problem and that I was not happy she just made a bunch of excuses about the reservation being at 9am. Really? Just take ownership and apologize for the mistake but whatever you do don't give me excuses! I would find another option other that North Kitsap Storage to give your business too!
