Rented a local van to move a few things around town. The folks there were attentive and nice, getting me through the renting process and on my way, easily. Packing supplies right there to buy and toss into the van. The Ford van was brand new and spotless with 155 miles on it. Rubber flooring in the van kept my cargo still. Sat tall in the saddle and driving visibility was good. Back up camera was nice to have. I think the back was ten feet long so I had lots of space to work with. Rented for 24 hours w/all the insurance (just wanted peace of mind). Still south of fifty bucks, including the miles driven around town. Easy after hours check in with link provided from a text on my phone which guided me through taking photos and listing van info. I'm 64 years old and have moved a lot of stuff around the country through the years using about everyone. U-Haul has stepped up it's game. Nice. read more

I was packing up for relocation from Huntsville. This U-Haul franchise had everything I needed from boxes and packing materials to rental vans. I made more than one visit to the store and everyone was extremely helpful in making sure I got what I needed. The great thing about all U-Haul stores is if you over purchase items (which I routinely do) you can return them for a full refund as long as you have your reciept. read more

Rented a U-Haul here for a move. If you plan to need a truck you better reserve it ahead of time, like a week or more ahead of time. I was fortunate to walk in just as someone canceled and even got the size truck I needed. Only bad experience was the morning I picked up the truck. They open at 9:00 and everyone was there waiting for them to open to get their reserved truck. I stood in line for 45 minutes to get the truck. read more

Had to move at the last minute, and luckily they had a truck available the next day (one way, at that) to rent. The one downside was when we got there to pick it up, it suddenly wasn't available, but they were nice enough to offer us the next size up at the same price we were originally quoted. That was a plus. Two downsides: we were told about our towing dolly and obviously that we had to come get it before closing, but not how difficult it would be to attach (probably made worse by us being so exhausted from packing/loading the truck and it being 1 am by that point). It would've been nice if someone there had offered to attach it for us, although it could just be that they don't offer to do this, possibly for liability purposes. Although I'm not even sure if I would've wanted them to, due to the second downside... The person who attached the part that we hooked up the dolly to on the truck apparently put two hooks or something (I was only overhearing what the workers at the U-Haul I returned it to said, and I don't know much about this stuff) and it was a huge pain for them to remove the dolly from the truck. Like they had to put the truck on a jack and kinda whack at the dolly to get the second thing to come off so they could remove it. Yikes. read more

Cory was absolutely wonderful, as was Justin. They were able to put the perfect towing hitch on my car for my new travel trailer for about a third of what an RV Center was going to charge me. It fit the system already installed on the trailer perfectly and they went out of their way to be accommodating. I would highly recommend them to anybody that's looking OPfor a reliable place to have a hitch installed. My hitch had to be ordered and Cory kept in touch with me let me know it's status and they put out an extra effort to be able to put it on a Saturday afternoon for me. I absolutely recommend them. The installation was fast and everybody in the office was pleasant and efficient. I can't say enough nice things about them they made the experience excellent for me. read more

I was tricked! I went and toured a unit that I was told would be the one I would get for $63 a month. I made a reservation for a few days later. On the day of my reservation I was told that unit was leased by someone else and I'd have to pay for another unit which is $77 a month! A phone call or something would have been nice. I just wanted to contact you to let you know of my experience with two different U-Haul locations in Huntsville, AL on Dec. 31, 2015. It was such a bad experience that I will never use U-Haul again. On Dec. 30, 2015 I reserved a pickup truck for rental the following day at the location at 3713 Governor's Drive in Huntsville. I was scheduled to pick this vehicle up at 11:30am. I showed up a few minutes early and the location was empty. A few minutes later, the General Manager comes in from the back and informs me that my reservation has been moved to the location across town at 4400 University Drive in Huntsville. I needed to have the truck in a certain location to pick up some furniture by noon of that day and this was already placing me behind schedule considering that I was never notified in advance of this change. A few minutes later I arrive at the location on University Drive to attempt my pick up. While waiting in a line of 5 people, I start to become stressed because it is already 11:45am. The General Manager at this location informs me that it doesn't matter when I was scheduled to pick up this truck. She states, that I will have to wait in line while she continues taking peoples orders and then going outside to fit them for their truck. I am a bit in a panic because this is not what I expected considering that I had reserved the truck for a specific pick up time for a reason. I finally left the location because I could not see it fit to pay U-Haul for the poor job they had done with having my reservation ready for pick up that morning. All this especially considering they have a sign in office guaranteeing that they will have the truck you order at the right location at the right time available for you. I cancelled my order with U-Haul and was able to reserve a truck with another moving company. The GM from the first location called while I was on the way to pick up the new truck and tried to get me to come by and pick up a truck that was now there at her location on Governor's Drive. She claimed that the reason I couldn't pick up the truck at the scheduled time and scheduled location was because the call center had double booked that time. The pick up that was sitting outside her location when I was their earlier, she said, had been left by someone that had not left their keys with her. Either way, the whole thing was crap. I intend to never use U-Haul's services again and will inform people of this issue in the Huntsville locations. read more
