No issues here. This place is right in Riverwest and despite being a busy place I'm always able to get in and out with a little patience, for whatever I happen to have come for. Another horrible experience. All I want to do is refill my propane. I swear I can call the number any time of the day including right at open and I always get put on hold. Usually 20 plus minutes before I give up and call back for someone different to answer to put me also on hold. In the past when I actually go there I usually am waiting 45 minutes at least to get a 30 second refill on propane. The people that work here are there for 2 things. To clock in and clock out. Don't expect customer service or help. Expect to do everything yourself and get charged extra dealing with this location . I had a review months ago and decided to give them a second try. customer service, Patrice, at the Goodhope location was awesome. The truck fuel was not the same as what was on the document. had to get fuel after only driving 3 blocks. I wasnt concerned because I was going to need fuel regardless. When I returned the truck, the fuel was over what it was when I picked it up and they charged me for fuel and reported on their end that the tank was less then what it was. the did not provide me with a receipt or proof(picture) of the gas gauge but the wanted me to give them picture. I will not use U-Haul again nor do I recommend them. They will rip you off. They are sketchy, the drop off was at a liquor store and no receipt was sent to me. We ordered a 20 foot truck about a week ago. Get a call from a Uhaul all the way out in Racine confirming our reservation. Turns out, they switched our reservation from the Capital drive location to the Racine location without calling or messaging us about it. We checked our reservation and it said that they did contact us, which was completely dishonest. My wife called to ask why we didn't receive a phone call about it, and the lady was very rude and unprofessional. She had her manager get on the phone a couple of times, but never resolved the issue. I would stay away from this Uhaul if possible. It isn't worth the headache, and they seem to be a dishonest location. read more

Generally don't go out of my way to write bad reviews... but this one I felt I needed to warn others. I think hot mess best describes what I experienced. Back in Sept 2021 I went online and ordered a hitch and installation to be done at the location on Capitol. My appointment rolls around, I come in - and upon arrival I'm informed my parts aren't in. (I was peeved, could've called me!) But whatever - so we rescheduled. I then received a call about a week later that the parts were still delayed (again, no big deal). Then I was ghosted. I tried calling and never could get a hold of a person. Finally, I ended up calling U-Haul Corporate. They got someone on the phone, who tried to claim I cancelled my order (even though I certainly had not, and also had not gotten a refund.) They scheduled me for another installation appointment, so I went in again. I went in about 20 minute before my appointment to drop my vehicle off ... and there was literally not a single person in the entire U-Haul building. No one working the front desk. No one in the back. Not a soul. There were multiple customers waiting ... and even someone on the line with U-Haul Corp asking what the heck was going on. Needless to say... I left - and didn't drop off my car. I then after calling U-Haul Corp AGAIN, asked for a refund. After multiple emails and texts (which I kept) with the owner ... who promised a refund check in 7-10 business days. It never came. So again, I called Corp U-Haul and finally got a refund 4 months after trying to get a hitch. Long story short - go somewhere else. read more

Only 1-star because 0 wasn't an option. I had the absolute worst experience here. Prepaid an order online & received notice that it would be ready for pickup the next day. I took time off work & when I got to the store the guy at the counter was so rude. I told him I was here to pick up a moving supply order and he barely acknowledged me. Grabbed my paper and grunted "the tape is right there". Well I ordered $160 worth of boxes and supplies. I told him "the email said it would all be ready for pick up", he grunted again "I ain't got nothing to do with no email". Well, I only had 30 min from work and I don't know the lay out of the store or where things are. This douche wouldn't even get his ass up off his chair. I didn't have time to do his job for him. So I left, went to U-haul on State street and was treated amazingly by Chris & Marcel who happily collected my order, rang it up and put it in my car for me. 2 outstanding gentlemen who really care about their business and the customer. Drive to U-haul on State street, it's worth the few extra miles for the amazing service. Avoid this location at all costs. read more

Slow, lazy, unhelpful. I went in today to see if I could get a truck rental for this weekend, and the guy (Terrance), looks at me and says "uh, we get really busy around this time of the month because everyone is moving so it's probably not possible. We can only rent out trucks for 8 hours at a time." Yeah...thanks, I'm aware that move in dates are at the first of the month and this is when you get the bulk of your business. This guy as moving in slow motion - it was painful. I understand it's difficult to accommodate someone who needs a truck for more than one day, but he seemed very unwilling to help me. So he goes through his computer system and keeps saying he can't help me. Like 10 times. Instead of trying to work with me to try to figure out some possibility that might work - such as renting a truck on separate days and then having me store my stuff somewhere in between, which I would have been open to. So I just go fed up and told him to forget it. But I still needed to buy some moving boxes, so I bought 10 extra large moving boxes. I'm a 5'5" small woman. The boxes are extra large and the plastic band around the stack needed to be cut in order for me to grab the quantity I needed. Instead of him coming around the counter to help me get the boxes, he just sits there and watches me try to slide 10 boxes out from under the plastic band, and try to drag them out the door, down the steps, and up into my trunk. This experience left such a sour taste in my mouth...and I called Penske, Ryder, and Budget...and they were all able to accommodate a 2 day rental without batting an eye. I don't even know where to begin to describe how awful my experience with Uhaul was at this location. I was moving from one apartment to another, both in Milwaukee. Stored about one room's worth of items in a Ubox and had no problems receiving the Ubox and storing it at this Uhaul location. When it came time to move my things to my new address, Uhaul couldn't locate my Ubox. Afer a couple hours and about 6 phone calls, they finally located my Ubox. Turns out they didn't put associate my name with the Ubox, and they only found it because I had written down my order number. Took a very long time for one of them to figure out to search the order number to try to locate my Ubox. Instead, they kept directing me to different departments and locations... Finally after locating the Ubox, I scheduled a delivery with movers to drive the Ubox to my new apartment and unload it. When they show up, Uhaul had given them an empty Ubox and charged me again! The movers had to go back to the Uhaul location and and get my Ubox with all my things in it. Finally the movers deliver my Ubox and unload everything into my apartment. You would think my Uhaul headache would be gone now, but then I get a call from the movers saying the delivery has been cancelled and they cant receive their payment! Uhaul messed up again, and even the movers are fed up with them! I will have to spend even more time sorting out my credit card statement to see how many wrong charges are on it from Uhaul's lack of organization... Avoid at all costs unless you want to spend hours upon hours trying to get your stuff back! read more

I am only leaving 1 star because 0 is not an option. We rented a 10' foot uhaul from this location in order to move my boyfriend's things to my apartment in Germantown. Pick up was fine. When we left the lot immediately a notification came on saying system detterent came on the dash. This tells me that they may not keep up on maintenance the way they should. However this was not even our main issue. Upon drop off is where the nightmare began. We dropped off the vehicle, at 10 o'clock at night, using their "convenient" 24/7 drop off. The instruction we were given was to use the mobile app or website. Neither were working. We tried calling customer service who said they needed to transfer our call due to high call volume. No one ever picked up. They disconnected our phone call. At this point we realized it was up to us as to figure out what to do with the key. There were no signs indicating if or where a drop box may be located. So, thinking the general manager here knew how to run a business, we thought maybe they have a back up key and we were to leave the key in the vehicle since it was not indicated that there was a drop box available. Being that this area of town has a high volume of vehicle theft, we left the key in the uhaul and locked the doors. Turns out there was a black drop slot, located on a black wall with no signs telling where it was. I will admit that was our mistake which is fine mistakes happen. The issue is how the general manager handled the situation. This man has absolutely no customer service skills. At 7 am our phone rings, waking us out of a dead sleep, after a hard night of moving. Instead of simply informing us of our mistake and the miscommunication on their part, he immediately starts yelling at my barely awake boyfriend about how we locked his only key in the truck and will be charging us $150 for doing so. We explained the situation, drop slot not indicated, app not working, couldn't get through to customer service, and he continued to yell about how it's our fault and $150 would be charged. At this point we got off the phone and called customer service who informed us they have no control, the general manager makes the final decision. At this point we decide to drive from Germantown to this location in order to use my AAA to hopefully avoid the $150 fee. Upon arrival I spoke with Baki, the general manage, and explain we had AAA coming. He said he would cancel the lock smith and not charge us. I then addressed the customer service issue. I explained that his tone on the phone was completely inappropriate and that's just not how you treat people, let alone paying customers. His response was "your boyfriend was rude as well the phone conversation was recorded". I told him that I would admit my boyfriend did not handle the situation well on the phone, but that it was because he set the tone of the conversation by yelling at him at 7am when neither of us were really awake. I explained that if we would have been informed by his employees that the key needed to be put in the drop slot we certainly would have done so. He responded by saying we can't blame him for what his employees did or didn't do. I said they're his employees it's 100% his responsibility that they give his customers the information necessary to have a successful drop off. I reiterated multiple times that if he had called and been kind or had even a shred of customer service skills this could have been dealt with an hour ago. I told him we would've happily driven down to utilize our AAA to rectify the situation. He would barely let me get 2 words in before talking over me and yet again yelling at me about how it's my fault and not his problem (being that it's his uhaul and his business I would think it is in fact his problem). Bottom line is that Baki is not kind, is a poor business man, and has no customer service skills. Even the employees said he is a jerk to customers when we explained the situation. I recomend going elsewhere and if they are the only option you have, you are better off delaying your move. read more

Like the others, zero stars wasn't an option so I had to put one. The WORST experience I have ever had. First off, the truck that was saved for me, was not available. So, I got stuck with a smaller one. We got it loaded up and ready to move when it started to rain. Guess what?? The wipers don't work. After calling and not getting an actual human for over an hour, they said they would send a service person out. Nope. So, we called again the next morning and again waited over an hour to talk to someone. Again, we will send a service person out. No one came. Called back the following day and they asked if I wanted a new truck. Heck NO!! It was all loaded up. I only had a team of people for the weekend to help move, so I had to wait the whole week and keep the truck. I called every day and explained why I still have the truck and if they wanted it early, they could pay for movers to unload it. They kept saying a GM would refund my money, etc. NOTHING!! If you're looking to move, find a different place. This Uhaul only told me excuses and gave me the run around. read more

My girlfriend had reserved a truck 3 weeks before our move out date at 7AM so we can be out by noon. The day before, they tell us they won't have a truck available until 10:30. Called them and asked them what is the point of the reservation if we can't reserve it for the time we need THREE WEEKS OUT?! Had a appointment for a trailer hitch installation- i go in there and they know nothing of it- they the manager- tells me hell call me in a day or two when its in, I wait about 4 or 5 days and go back there and he says oh yea- it just came in right now come back tommorrow. Installation went fairly well but about a month later my tailight assembly starts falling off the back end of my car nothing holding it in but the wires- so i go back there and tell the manager that i think when they spliced in the trailer light harnass to the tailights he the mechanic forgot to bolt it back in and he told me no thats unrelated goodbye So i took out a couple screws in the trunk to access the tailight assembly and right where they spliced in the wires on the backside of the tailight assembly there are 3 studs holding it in place and all 3 nuts were missing so i fixed it myself and called back and left a message for him to consider next time that the customer might be right! probably will never back read more
