First time renting a van at Uhaul, first time using the Uhaul self-check in. Horrible experience…read morewith the manager SUZANNE (pictured in this locations photos) Arrived at the location at scheduled time and tried to use the app to self-check in for the first time. Took a few minutes to find parking as the lot is small, ended up parking across the street.Took a few minutes to find since there were a few vehicles out front which did not match, and the remaining vehicles were behind the locked gate. I assumed it was where all the other parked vehicles were but none of them matched but as I was going to walk into the check in, I found the van in the laneway. At this point it was 15 minutes after the scheduled time and during the self check in process, was told to confirm that I found the vehicle, then send in pictures of my drivers license to get verified. Took 5 minutes to verify but during the verification process, a lady walked up to the window as I was sitting in the van and said "You need to get out, I just rented this van". Assuming she was a customer since she was not wearing a uniform, I replied that "I rented this van and am in the check in process on the app." She replied "I rented this van to a customer, you need to go rent another van" so I knew she was an employee. I told the live verification representative on the app that I was being kicked out and will do the check in process at the counter. At the counter, there was some confusion in the system and when the employee (who was excellent) asked for Suzanne's help, she said "The order was cancelled because he REFUSED to verify information with the live chat". Wow, accusing me that I refused to provide this information when she was the one who aggressively kicked me out of the vehicle? When I explained to her what actually happened, Suzanne again said "No, it is because you refused to give your information, that is why the order was cancelled". Sure, I want to rent a van but I'm going to refuse to give information? That makes a lot of sense right? I was tired of dealing with Suzanne, so I let her 'win'. I continued my rental with the employee and the rest of the rental was ok. I don't know how someone decided that Suzanne was qualified to be a manager, but if doesn't even have the skills to speak with a customer without accusing or making assumptions, how is she expected to manage a whole location and its employees? I definitely would hate to work under her. Due to this experience, I will not be going back to this location unless there is action taken to correct this problem.

I just wanted to thank k Stevve and Mandy for building my custom built teardrop trailer. It's just…read morewhat we wanted. I was getting to old for tent camping and this is just fantastic for me. It's easy to tow I had no problem with it whatsoever. My teardrop is an off grid trailer with solar panels. I am so glad Steve was so kind and patient with me a I phoned constantly and changed my options several times with the build. Having done my research before my purchase I was fully aware of the outlandish prices being charged for teardrops, especially U.S. MADE . This is a beautiful budget trailer for people who may not be able to afford one otherwise. Having worked for 6 days a week for the last year and a half as a frontline health car worker I am looking forward to our travels. Thank you Steve and Mandy.

I contacted Steve to arrange a purchase. I told Steve what I wanted and he invoiced it because i…read moresaid i would like to go ahead with being invoiced but obviously nothing was in stone. Great! No big deal, I'm good with that. The next morning, i did some searching for reviews or anything at all that would tell me whether The Teardrop Trailer Company was a legitimate business to work with but couldn't find much of anything other than a couple of negative reviews. I contacted Steve and told him I'd just like to see what people thought of his trailers and asked if he could put me in contact with anyone that could let me know what they thought of the trailer and how it towed etc. well, this is where Steve lost his temper. He wrote me a nasty email back. Following is the interchange: Me: Hi Steve! Okay, I got your invoice. Thank you for being so prompt! This morning, as we all seem to these days, I was trying to read reviews from people who own one of your trailers. It's a very difficult thing to find it would seem. Can you put me in contact with any other folks who own one as I'd like to hear from owners first hand what they think of towing the trailer and of what they think of them overall? I'm sure you understand with a purchase of this size I just want to feel secure in my choice to go with your company. Thank you for your help on this! Steve: within minutes Ok. First you said lets go ahead. Now you want to contact existing customers. I cannot give private info of my customers. If you want to reach out to them, you have my forum and Instagram to reach out to them personally. I will delete the invoice. Me: Steve, Why do I sense you are angry. I am just trying to do my part to make sure that I am parting with my money in a thoughtful way. I don't want personal information. I just wanted to see what people thought. The path to your company was a bit convoluted to begin with so knowing everything I can so I feel secure seems a good idea I think. Steve: Convoluted? Keep your money and buy local. I have a line up of buyers. You're waisting my time by asking for an invoice. Me: Steve, Well, I was willing to hand you six and a half thousand dollars for something and all i did was ask for some references just because I couldn't find any out there. Your defensiveness lost you a sale but I am genuinely glad your business is good and that things are going well for you. Just a tip: If you want people to buy your product, and they ask questions, you may want to learn how to handle that in a more professional manner. Have a great day! So, needless to say I feel like I dodged a bullet. I don't usually write reviews but the interchange left such a bad taste in my mouth that I felt it a good idea to do so. 6800 American dollars is a pretty large chunk of money and when I deal with a company for that much money, being a professional is required. Steve was not. I don't doubt his product is possibly very good. I'll never know but I don't think it was out of bounds to ask questions.
