I reserved…read morea 16ft box truck for the weekend to be picked up at the Home Depot in West Mifflin, PA. on Saturday the 18th. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a smirk and chuckle as I was told "your truck is not here". After calling around and eventually getting a Penske representative on the phone 45 minutes later, I was told that there was a truck at another location about 45 minutes away and it was a 22ft truck, not 16ft. I now had to find someone to drive me to the other location. As I am sure you are aware, there is WAY more difference than 6ft between these two trucks!! One is a box truck/van the other is a LARGE DIESEL TRUCK!! I am not a OTR truck driver and had to drive this for close to 300 miles! The inconvenience and additional stress was not what I expected. I had multiple teams of people waiting at multiple locations, so I had to take what you offered. Yes, the Penske representative did give me discount, and I thank you for that. However, I cant emphasize enough how big of a pain in the *^! this experience was! Annd, according to your employees this is NOT unusual at all, and occurs fairly often! To top it all off, it concluded with being charged $8.00/gallon for 35 gallons of diesel fuel vs what I would have paid in regular gas. How you stay in business is beyond me. Never, ever, ever again...I will make it known to whomever, whenever, however I can how bad this was.
