AAA sent me a text link which included a map showing the location of the Advantage Tow Truck dispatched. Within 1.5 hours, the tow truck driver (Advantage Towing) arrived and he asked me 1. to confirm the reason for the breakdown 2. for me to provide the suv keys 3. confirm the address of the repair shop 4. Did I need a ride to the repair shop. Yes, I was worried and panicked because this is what we females do best. However, this tow truck driver was very professional and recognized my panicked switch was ON and so he smiled and said to me "I got this" and off he went with my suv to the repair shop. When I arrived at the repair shop 1.my suv was already safely parked in the repair lot 2. tow truck driver and the repair shop guy were discussing my suv This is nothing short of an amazing feat! So I called AAA and they put me on the perpetual hold, and my friends and I screwed around with a wire hanger for a little while and I did NOT freak out, thank you very much. When all of a sudden, from just around the riverbend, we saw the telltale flashing lights of....could it be....a tow truck?!?!? Were our party prayers answered?????? Mr. Randig, can you rescue me???? My car was in the middle of the road so I did not feel like I had much choice and it has been at their lot for less than 24 hours. This was on top of them telling me explicitly to "not let Geico bully me into getting my car repaired somewhere else". They claim to be a family owned business, but it now feels more like a shakedown from a very shady company. The flatbed even dragged my tires across the ground without putting my car in neutral, seemingly to maximize damage so they could increase their profits on a 10 minute tow. I have now learned the error of trusting any tow company that shows up before the police do. Very disappointed and I will be spreading this awareness of terrible service on as many outlets as possible.
