When I picked up my uhaul I told them my estimated miles was going to be 25. I ended up doing 15ish. Just a local pickup from one house to another house, then back to uhaul. The next day I was charged my estimated amount($85) AND an additional $75 charge as well. When I called and asked about it, they told me I had driven 81 miles, instead of my estimated 25. When I asked them to look back on the previous driver, there was no info for this driver. Long story short, make sure you check the odometer and take pictures of everything before you leave with the uhaul. read more

Warning, this happened 2 times in one month. My friends orders trucks and the day that they went to pick them up they told them they were not available. It cost my 1st friend 300$ to pay the movers for the day and the movers have to come back the next day and pay them again. Today i have a friend who is moving cross-country, guess what no truck. At least for them they gave them some truck half the size. So all they had to do was throw away half of their stuff. Go to Vestal u-haul if you don't want a truck or really want to throw away all your furniture. If you book through them consider yourself lucky if you actually get a truck! read more

WORST experience ever!! I reserved a 15' truck online that said "guaranteed reservation" and then they switched my reservation to a 10' truck, causing me to spend over $100 more in mileage and gas for the extra trips I had to make due to the smaller truck. Absolutely ridiculous! Complained to customer service and they literally said it wasn't guaranteed. What is the point of having that wording on a reservation if it's not going to be guaranteed?! I did not receive a credit or any kind of consolation for their lack of responsibility. I will NEVER use U-Haul again!! read more

So we called (not a form online , called a real person) and booked a trailer. They messed up and didn't have that trailer so they took it upon themself to move our reservation to Oneonta (over an hour away !!) the very nice women at the Oneonta location informed us we had the right to a $50 credit because we were cancelled on. We called the Vestal location and they transferred us to someone . That women said they only handle accidents so we were transferred yet again . We were told that we didn't "quality" for the credit because the reservation means nothing until we get a confirmation phone call (which we did but the women left a voicemail) the man at the claims location would not do a think to allow us to prove we got the confirmation. Regardless that is scummy and sneaky having those "fine lines" .so folks a reservation with a real person means jack and they can cancel or move your reservation to a location hours away if they want to . This company is very untrustworthy and I'm disappointed in their games we will never be doing business with them again . read more

The guys really went above and beyond for me. I randomly pulled into his location with a trailer from another location that had a blow out. The district manager came out with a new tire and had me back on the road within in 20mins. That blowout could have potentially cost us thousands of dollars had we not been able to make it back to NJ to return all the equipment in the trailer before the places we had to go to closed. Would have been stuck with Van, trailer and equipment all weekend. Really saves us! These guys are amazing!!! read more

On more than one occasion I've reserved online only to find they don't have the equipment once I've arrived. Not only that, they led me on through the process, as if I wouldn't notice the trailer I reserved was a 5x8 instead of a 6x12. These managers need to get their act together and increase their stock of popular rentals. Contact your headquarters or be more proactive, stop wasting my time. read more

We checked online to see if this U-Haul sells propane for RV's and found out yes it does. So we pulled in and could see their propane tank way in the back, so we asked if we could get propane, and they said sure pull right up next to the tank. We did but their hose wouldn't reach. Would you believe it - they got out their forklift and moved the dumpster and two of their storage boxes so that we could get our RV close enough to pump propane! All for a $30.00 sale! Incredible! I had an awful experience here. The staff gave me conflicting info and quotes and were not the most friendly. I rented a truck for 2 days to do pick up of household items in storage in a different State. I hired day laborers to help me load the items out of State. When it came time to return the truck, I needed every minute in terms of time to return because I had to wait for laborers to arrive to help me unload. I picked the truck up at around 1pm and assumed I had until the same time to return. I called Uhaul to give them the heads-up and was told I had an hour's grace after 1pm to return the truck. When I returned the truck, within the grace period, I was strangely told that I was supposed to return it at 11am, and no grace period exists. This person, who was the manager, was terse and cold and dismissed the time I picked up the truck (1pm) and the info I was provided previously that I relied upon. Consequently, I was charged for an extra day and other fees. This was totally unfair and made worse by the discourteousness of the manager. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. This place is a HORRIBLE fraudulent business that doesn't deserve to operate. DONT EVER RENT A TRUCK from Uhaul in the Vestal/Binghamton area. We had originally placed an order weeks in advance for a 20ft truck going one way for around 180$. The day before we get a call from Uhaul saying they can't give us this truck and all they have is 15ft truck that can go one way(we needed at least at 20ft truck)When we called to get more information we find out that they don't let their 20 or 26 ft trucks go one way and that they are only for in town rentals. So they never had any intention of fulfilling the order we placed and we were forced to rent a 20ft truck and drive it all the way downstate and then rush to bring it back up. There was hundreds of dollars in extra costs for tolls, gas, as well as buses and trains to get home and then Uhaul has the nerve to charge us almost 400 for a truck that was only supposed to be 180$. I'm beyond disgusted. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THESE FRAUDS. They are complete scam artists. read more
