This is the most incompetent unprofessional staff I have ever had in my banking life. I am going to withdraw everything that's in there. I've given them chance after chance, hoping that they would change their practices ,how they treat customers and be more aware of their own banking information. today I had the misfortune of speaking with someone named Rachel, whom I finally was able to get transferred to a so-called manager Alejandra. She was even less helpful than the first person I spoke with. I agree with the other person this bank branch needs to be shut down unless until they can hire people that have good customer skills and can answer customer questions about deposits, CDs accounts without getting defensive. I was actually told by Alejandro who claims to be a manager that I can use my own calculator to do a calculation when I asked a simple question regarding a CD interest! to say they are horrible is a understatement myself and four other family members will be taking our money out of this institution and going elsewhere, it hires the most disrespectful, unprofessional bankers.,If you can even call them that I have ever experienced ...please do not put your money there. This is a review for Keith Brown. I moved to Benicia in 2020 and have been coming to this branch since. I haven't been needing to use banks anymore than occasional deposits and withdrawals, but this past year I found myself taking a lot of trips to the bank for work. Looking back, I feel very lucky to have had Keith helping me during those hectic times. Keith had been there for me and lead me through all the obstacles. He was professional, courteous and diligent, he was very thorough with all the paperworks and was always available. I was at some point panicking about some international wires that won't go through and he was able to explain things to me in a manner that calmed me down. However the outcome was - it was not satisfying due to US Bank's policy - I was calm enough to find another way to take care of what I needed to get done. Late last year I had an account with Chase next door and after being treated horribly by their manager, ultimately, Keith was also the reason why I chose to open a new business account with US Bank. I can't say this branch is any better than other branches, but I think anyone would be happy to work with someone who care as much as Keith does. The fact this branch hasn't been shut down is astonishing. I went in today to close my deceased father's account. Alejandra Navarro (assistant VP) was obviously out of her depth but took my original documents anyway and told me she'd be in touch the next day. Around 30 minutes before closing, she called stating the documents were incomplete because of an error that she had made when scanning them. When I explained that I didn't have any paperwork other than the originals she'd taken, she became aggravated, yelling the same irrelevant misinformation that didn't apply to my situation then hung up the phone in a huff. I had to leave work to race across town before closing in the hopes someone more socially developed and technically literate would be available to assist me. When speaking to another teller (who was kind, empathetic, and clearly appalled by her coworkers behavior), Alejandra repeatedly interrupted, raised her voice, and made vile comments to me and my attorney. Ultimately, I left without my documents, any information on next steps, or when I could expect a resolution. Apart from the stunning lack of basic knowledge, decency, and literacy, Alejandra's behavior and tone was disgraceful. To loudly berate a pregnant, grieving customer in front of a building full of people was the single most disturbing customer service interaction I have ever had. Throughout the entire process of settling my fathers estate, I have been met with kindness and empathy in every other institution I've had to deal with. How Alejandra was able to even acquire a job working with the public is almost as shocking as her shameful, pathetic behavior. Now, the entirety of my funds are being held for no legitimate reason. Because the account is frozen, things like my mortgage payment aren't able to process and no resolution is being offered. The circumstances were extremely stressful to begin with before Alejandra's disgusting outburst. Also worth noting- Travis Credit union took the very same documentation and was able to close an identical account in less than 15 minutes. Only US Bank is unable to complete a basic account closing after over 2 hours in the branch, which is especially horrifying considering the average age of their customers. If you're banking here, consider closing your account. Our family members are all switching to Chase in the same plaza due to this situation. read more

Rude tellers! Apparently you can not deposit change anymore. I had a few roles and both tellers said things like, "this one feels a little short". In condescending voice as if i were trying to swindle them. Totally ridiculous. Im sure it was related to the time. I arrived at 12:45 on a Saturday and they closed at 1. So the teller refused to accept any change stating they were all "a little short". The guy continued to say, "they are all a little short" and you will have to re-roll them. I told him it was a waste of time and just deduct what ever. He said no. So he gave me back the rolls and i noticed he forgot to give me 1 penny back so i told him, "i see you trying to steal that penny from me". - the customers behind me were laughing. He apologized so told him, "see, i can be a dick too". Rudeness and unprofessional behavior. Ill never return to this branch. Considering changing banks. This is BS. read more

I come to the Benicia branch for all my banking needs. Rarely is there any line since they are in a small town. Plenty of parking and in a safe city makes this location a plus. Only downside is there is only 1 US Bank ATM in the city. read more

I will start by saying I am not someone who generally posts negative reviews. However, my recent trip to this branch was so appalling I have taken steps to report this branch with the Better Business Bureau and hope this review may be useful to other folks in Benicia, particularly other young women. I am truly disgusted by my interaction with the manager Jeffery. I opened my first account with this US Bank branch as a child and had every intention of being a lifelong customer. However, when a fraudulent purchase drove my account to a negative balance, several fees were applied to the account. When I went in to get this remedied, I was told I would have to speak with the manager, who was never there. I went in a total of 7 times before even seeing him. When I took a day off work to get it handled, he was finally in the building. I was told to sit in the lobby to wait for him, which I did for over an hour. When he came out, he was unbelievably condescending, asking me "what do you want?" in a highly disrespectful tone. When I explained what happened, he told me he wouldn't be returning the fees because they had done so already in the past year. This is blatantly not true. I had my statements with me, so I reviewed them over the next hour while I continued to wait for him to bring me fraud reporting paperwork. The fees he referenced being returned were the monthly maintenance charges that get applied and then refunded to my account, not overdraft fees as he claimed multiple times. During that hour, he helped 5 other customers, which included taking them to his desk and saying such things as "I haven't had the pleasure of helping you" and so on. Each time he interacted with me, he did so loudly, enough that everyone in the building could here him scolding me for an overdraft error that was not my fault. After over two hours in the building, I left and brought back the funds so I could just close the account. Even though he had told me the only way to remedy the situation that day would be to put the funds in, I was not able to close the account that day and was told he would call me when he closed it the following day. He never called. I just began looking at homes in Benicia. I had originally intended on doing my mortgage banking with US Bank, but after this experience I will never return to the Benicia branch. As someone who has trusted this company since I was a child, I am incredibly disappointed to see this caliber of employee running a branch. I promptly went to the Chase branch in the shopping center, where I was told folks opening accounts with them after a run in with Jeffery is a near daily occurrence. Most of their other negative reviews on google and yelp mention him by name, many of which refer to him as a bigot, sexist, or racist. I can say with certainty that the way he spoke to me as a young woman, contrasted with how he spoke to the 5 other customers he assisted before returning to me, confirms those reviews. My father will be closing his account (which he opened over 20 years ago) this week due to this blatant harassment and mistreatment, as will the rest of my family. It is an absolute shame that Jeffery has been given a position of influence is in our great community. read more

I'm a contractor in my painting clothes and Jeffrey K Inman personally decided that I was not worthy of my money in his bank, even though the 800 number said it was available. 2 accounts for 20 + years. The bank manager here is horrible. Extremely rude and does not understand the concept of customer service. There have been multiple instances of my having to wait inordinate amounts of time for the simplest of services. I have several accounts here and live in Benicia. If it wasn't for the tellers, who are both polite and efficient, I would drive all the way to Martinez to use the U.S. Bank branch there. read more

I closed an account at another bank and went in to open a savings account here. Within 15 minutes my new savings account was linked to my checking, was available for online banking and was linked to my existing ATM card. I have never had a problem with US Bank's customer service, they really are first rate. The staff at the Benicia branch has always been very helpful and professional. read more

As a long time customer of the US Bank in Benicia, I have had good and bad customer service. Today, after leaving the bank, I discovered I did not have my car key fob. I called the bank and asked the woman who answered if a key fob had been turned it...she said they didn't have any keys and hung up on me. So, I had to go to the bank and ask if they had found my key fob, they had it...so much for good customer service! read more

I have been with US Bank for a while now, and other branches have been able to assist me with great professionalism. However, this branch lacks any sense of customer service. I had a problem with the ATM taking my money but not allocating funds into my account, so I go in to ask how I can fix this. (Note: This is the 2nd time I have had issues with this specific ATM). While I wait in line, I overhear a customer attempting to make small talk about his vacation plans to Florida very politely, and the employee makes minimal eye contact and rudely makes short of the conversation. While "helping" me, they direct me to call the number on the receipt the ATM gave me. The customer service line advised me to go into the branch and request an express provisional credit if I required the funds earlier than 10 business days, so I drive back to the branch, and the manager says they cannot do that. The manager also asked if I inserted the bills crumpled up because they had a technician on the way to fix it. At this point, he was refusing to help me, even though the customer service representative told me that this was a regular transaction that they can easily execute. In addition, he was insinuating that this whole ordeal was my fault because I would naively insert crumpled bills into a machine, even though they were perfectly crisp bills that I received from another bank. This will be the last time I will be associating with this branch, and I will be closing my account with them in the near future. read more

Our experiences were usually good, but I guess that's because we only had a need to visit the branch once in a while. Unfortunately, our negative experiences mirror the same issues other reviewers have posted: Jeffrey. I know this is Benicia and it's predominantly white but you would think a bank recognizes that money spends just the same. We had to jump through hoops to cash a US Bank check which was easily verifiable, with multiple forms of identification as well as my partner having a long established platinum account with them. But I guess we didn't have the right look or complexion worth his time to offer the same level of service. Also in the banking industry if a 10,000 check is considered a large amount you might want to re-evaluate your understanding of the financial industry. We work for ourselves but apparently they are used to 9-5'ers okay taking condescending crap from a bank employee. After that interaction we decided to open our business account elsewhere, if it's such a hassle managing one check, we definitely couldn't trust them with our weekly profits read more

I usually always am happy at this bank. Today I waited over 15 minutes without acknowledgement from either teller. The girl was very busy with a client and really couldn't look up and the guy was working with someone left cage and went to deck with him worked with him and never once looked up to say that someone would be with me momentarily. Didn't even acknowledge my presence. The next inline went to the female teller and again she was quite involved with them. Of course she could hzve said , hi we'll be with you as soon as we can , or something like that but she proceeded to help the next couple. I really don't blame her as she is always very efficient. I blame management for not giving training in excellent customer service!!!!! B the guy went back to the cage spoke with someone behind plex i glass came to his space and kept on ignoring me not giving me any indication that he might help or that I was to wait.
