I walked into the branch at 3pm and they said getting an appointment so close to closing time would not be possible. This page says SPIRE but it is now the merged Blaze credit union. I was surprised not so see a stand alone ATM it instead is in the first dive thru lane, after the big teller window. I was the only vehicle there so I was able to withdrawal in $10 and $20 increments. Once I had my money I just backed up to get in to another lane and asked the teller for smaller $ bills. This bank doesn't have a teller window off of the window, where the drawer comes out. I just put the $20 In the tube and sent it to her. She called to confirm I had an account and needed my account number. Then when she sent my money back I had to sign a receipt for her. A few more steps to get the money I wanted but it was painless, thanks Blaze.

Each time I submitted information, I had to call to make sure someone had actually checked their email because there was little to no communication throughout the process. I constantly felt like I had to chase someone down just to move my application forward. What was most frustrating was that after finally submitting the requested information, I received what appeared to be an almost immediate verbal denial from the underwriter. Given how quickly the decision was made, it did not feel like my application received a thorough or fair review. Whether or not that was actually the case, that was certainly the impression left on me. My husband, who earns over $100,000 per year, has excellent credit, and was willing to co-sign the loan. While I understand that every lender has underwriting guidelines and has the right to deny a loan, I expected to be treated with professionalism, respect, and clear communication throughout the process. Instead, I felt like my application was dismissed from the beginning. I was also repeatedly asked whether I had an account with Blaze, even though I had already been told that membership was not required to apply. That only added to the confusion and frustration. My disappointment isn't simply that I was denied. Loan denials happen. It's the lack of communication, the feeling that my application was never given genuine consideration, and the overall customer service experience that left such a negative impression. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Blaze Credit Union. I hope they take a closer look at how loan applicants are treated and improve their communication and customer service so future applicants have a more positive experience.

Long story short, they were horrible to work with - poor communication, lies, and ultimately, they force people to get one of their products when it clearly isn't needed. Worst bank experience I've ever had!
