The staff was friendly and helpful and I was asked if I needed anything and got my wire receipt copy from the Bank Manager .I'm updating my review here to say This Branch is really stepping it up and I'm feeling a lot better going to do my local business banking and knowing they are all caring to make things much better for the customer there. I love US Bank; I have been with them for decades and generally bank in Burbank where the service is exceptional. They have helped me in good times and no-so-good times. Can you explain to me why on your company's website it shows this branch location having a Drive-Up ATM and ATM services open and available 24 hours when in fact this location does NOT have drive-up ATMs and the one and only ATM is inside the building with the doors locked? How is that considered open and available 24 hours? It's Sunday today and I needed to make a deposit and i drove 7 miles to find NO drive up ATM, and your so called 24 hour available ATM is in the lobby and has its doors locked! I called customer service and that complete idiot guaranteed me that there is an available drive-up ATM thats a ridiculous 25 miles away from me is open that i can use to make the deposit. Stupid me i had faith in that moron! I drove there and there is NO GOD DAMN DRIVE UP ATM! I saw an ATM inside the lobby BUT THE DOORS ARE LOCKED AT THIS LOCATION TOO!!!!! Its been a nightmare ever since Union Bank merged with your bank! I have no time to make the deposit during week days because im at work 6:30am to 5pm! I called US bank customer service, I told Tom what happen, this idiot couldn't understand what I was saying, kept me on hold for 30 min to tell me about the recent check I had just deposit. I would recommend going to chase or even B of A because the branch manager. He has been keeping me from getting access to an account. Poor customer service and ethics. I had a family member pass away in September and have been trying to get access to the account which was left to me in a legal will and this bank manager is fighting legal documents I have to show I get the account. Last year my daughter transferred her car over to me and my wife so we can take over payments. We did the paperwork and had issues where employees messed up the paperwork. A lien was already placed. It is now 10 months later and we get a notice from the DMV that the registration was incomplete and monies are still owed. My wife has called and left messages with those agents that we dealt with before at the bank and noone has gotten back to us. They just don t want to get involved because they messed up and made unexcusable errors. This is so unprofessional on their part. I am walking into the branch today to just ask to fix their mistake and believe me, I will not be happy about it. I have to drive out of my way about an hour because of their incompetency. We have been banking with US Bank since 1986 when we use to live in Los Angeles and when we move here in Sylmar in 2006 we kept the same bank. Last Sunday my wife deposited $ $$$.00 on their ATM and you know when you deposit some cash for me the first thing i look if the exact i put in was there i don't even look on some prints because sometimes those are only ratings or surveys "How did we do today" please rate us. After 4 days my wife went to Marina Del Rey US Bank because she is wondering how come the $$$.00 she deposited 4 days ago were not on her account and she talk to the manager they can't do anything about it, she need to talk to those people @ Sylmar US Bank...my wife goes HUH! In short i was the one who went to Sylmar US Bank, the teller (karen maybe her name she is at the end of the counter wearing eyeglasses) my first impression on her she don't like her job, no good morning no hi...i don't care Teller: i may i help you? Me: i explain the story and how come the $$$$ are not on my account yet. Teller: Sir , Did you read what's on the receipt ? Me: yes! it's just today i notice that there is a message that we need to call this number because ,ATM error Teller: did you call them Me : my wife just did , when she found out about the error Teller: okey then, what is your question Me: don't you guys check the ATM machine if there are some extra cash in there at the end of the day? Teller: No Sir, we only check the machine once a week Me: WHAT? (everybody is looking at me now cause of my loud voice) you mean to say we have to wait for another week before we will found out what happened with the money. Teller: Yes! Great service, knowledgeable staff and easy parking, the important trifecta. My banking is simple and usually can be done through the teller side, never encountered an issue. I have had a business checking and business credit card with USBank for over 5 years. I usually bank at Woodland Hills location or dt LA. But, this time i went into the Sylmar location and was surprised how compact size the branch was, the lack of security and then i noticed how skeletal the branch felt in terms of personnel as there were only 2 very young ladies about 20 years old running the bank all by themselves. One was a teller and the other a teller acting as a stand-in for the management. They were ice cold in terms of friendliiness. They did not greet my husband and I nor smile and we were the only customers in the bank. I bank more frequently with BofA for business because they clear business check deposits of large amounts 5-10k faster usually within 24 hours. But, since this check to deposit was around $3,000.00 i figured it should be ok. The teller advised me that since i have not made a deposit in the last 3 months that she would be placing an extra hold on it. I protested because my account has funds in it and it is has always been in good standing, this is a check issued by a big financially sound company that i have had a 10 year + relationship with depositing hundreds of checks over the years at USbank and they never bounced and i even have a business credit card linked to the account that i use frequently for many business auto payments that is very active. She said her bank program can only go back 3 months so she couldnt verify that. She continued to argue that i dont have enough activity. I asked for a manager and the teller at the next window stepped up (the only other person there) and said nomatter what thats there policy. When i asked to see where that policy is written she tried to find it and then admitted its a discretionary decision she is making on behalf of the branch. These 2 females had a very snooty and condenscending attitude. It was a negative experience at this branch and i suggest to all to avoid going to the USbank in Sylmar unless you like to be treated like dirt. read more

I took a check into this bank to get it cashed since it is drawn on US Bank. The teller informed me she couldn't cash it because it was a business check. It didn't matter that it was MY business (and I am the sole proprietor) and I had lots of ID. I asked her what my options were and she informed me that if I had a business account with them, then I could deposit the check and that the funds would be available that day! Me,"So - I could open an account, deposit the check, withdraw the total amount, then close the account?" Teller,"Well, theoretically, yes, but we wouldn't want you to do that!" Me," Then I want to open an account" Teller,"One moment please" After a 10 minute wait, (which is a LONG time if you are carting around your new 1 1/2 year old son), the manager comes out and says,"Sir, we'd really rather not open an account with you if you are just going to close it!" Me,"Then are you saying you are refusing to open a business account for me!??" Manager,"No" Me,"Then ...let's do it" After I sat through the lengthy process of opening an account while trying to keep my little son occupied, the manager told me they had to hold $100 as a minimum balance!! Me,"But the teller told me ALL my funds would be available today" Manager,"Sir, we have to have a $100 balance overnight" Me,"SO - I can come back tomorrow and withdraw the rest if I wanted to?" Manager,"Yes - but we'd like for you to give us a chance" Me,"Why would I do that?" Essentially - this is what is happening in the USA. Customer service, whether it is banks, insurance companies, Time Warner cable, or ANY service business is not putting customers needs first. Been with this Bank for about 3 years; We have 4 Accounts incl. Business, Pers. Checking & Saving, plus 1 for our Daughter. ATM on San Fernando never seems to work (esp. 4 Deposits) and is always being serviced. Branch use to open Saturday's which is why we opened Accounts but now they're only open Mon-Fri. Just made a simple $10 Transfer from Savings to Checking online and got hit with $15 Transfer Federal Fee for going over allotted 5-6 transfers per month without any warning before making transfer on my Computer. I also had an OverDraft Fee charged once when I transferred fund between one of our 4 Accounts 9pm one evening only to have them deduct a check late at 10pm causing a neg balance. Too many hidden fees & tricks. Not enough Branches. read more
