When I arrived, there was a long line, and by the time I reached the teller, I was told I'd need to sit down with a banker to close the account and then return to the teller line to transfer the funds. I'll admit, I felt a little frustrated at the thought of lining up all over again. Thankfully, the teller checked me in right away and put me on standby with an estimated wait time of 30-40 minutes. To my surprise, Melody Herrera approached me within just 15 minutes and asked how she could help. She took me straight in and completely turned the experience around. Melody was efficient, friendly, and incredibly professional. She handled everything seamlessly--closing the individual account and transferring the funds to the joint account--so I didn't have to go back into the teller line at all. She conducted the entire process with ease and a genuine smile, which made a big difference. What started as a potentially frustrating visit ended up being a great experience thanks to Melody. Yesterday, I tried to deposit a check where the customer slightly corrected a 9 in the desposit amount but the manager (didn't get her name) said no go to deposit even though the deposit amount was correctly written out on the check. Now I have to go back to Pasadena to get my customer to reissue the check. They are ALWAYS understaffed and even those who are there give the impression they'd rather be somewhere else. Terrible customer service. No wonder why BofA is closing branches. Looking into changing biz banks that's for sure and I'd recommend you do the same.
