I had to mail something thought media mail to a colleage it was and it was near five o'clock. I was heading to Costco. This was the closest post office to me. I hadn't been here before. This is in the space where Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch used to be, the soul food restaurant back in the day. It looked very cramped in there for some odd reason. And I noticed they had some very bad reviews about customer service, so I lowered my expectations. Stephanie actually helped me with the package, packaged it up, taped it up. She was very kind and nice. She got me in at ten minutes to five and helped me through the line. I stayed there until five and she gave very good customer service. read more

First, let me start out by saying I'm a black female. Every time I come into this location all the employees have an attitude, and do not understand 'customer service'. With that said, since they do not know how to treat human beings they should find another job. Normally, if people are unhappy with their job, people have the mental capacity/ability to look for another job. Clearly all the employees that I've become in contact with lack this trait that most people learn while growing up. And yes, they were of the same race. What makes me even more upset? Had she googled it she would have seen it was for a laundry wringer which would have taken her maybe 5 seconds. She would not allow me to ship my item. Did you know that you are not allowed to take the FREE usps shipping boxes??? Yeah, this was news to me as well. Apparently the lady that works here is on some kind of power trip and thinks she gets to make her own arbitrary usps rules. I literally got yelled at by a worker here because I wanted to take a FREE usps box to ship something WITH usps. She had some made up rule that unless you package your item in front of her, you are not allowed to use her boxes. Because I wasn't willing to pack it up in front of her face, she told me to go to another usps to get my box. INSANE. This person is out of their mind. Please seek help. It is literally none of her business what I ship to my family for Christmas as long as it's not illegal. Get a life and/or a new job if you hate your current job this much, lady. I wanted to either cash in 2 money orders or if they don't have the money in the register, then get 2 new money orders. The lady at the desk was very rude. First she said she doesn't have the money for it, then she said she can't cash them for new orders because a supervisor would have to enter a code to override it. Complete lies. She said we would have to go to a location that has a supervisor which would be up on Aviation by LAX or the location in Mar Vista on Grandview. Went to Mar Vista, waited in a long line, only 2 desk workers. The lady at the desk had an attitude because she was late for lunch and took 20 mins helping 1 customer. We went to the guy that was working the other desk and he was able to cash the $1,000 money order but he didn't have enough for the 2nd order which was $550. He thought the lady working the desk next to him would have it but she was already late for lunch and didn't want to bother with it - course she didn't say that, she claimed she didn't have the money and she couldn't make out a new one either (she said if I could come back in 30 mins for it). I already waiting in line for 30 mins to get the help I got from the guy there and I don't know why he couldn't make a new one, either. I would've been satisfied with a new money order but the line was to the door and I don't want to waste an hour getting one task done! For the guy working the desk at Mar Vista, I appreciate him helping us today. He had a good attitude even though they were super busy. He deserves a raise! Those 2 other women at both locations - do better or get new jobs if you don't like where you work!! on a Saturday morning the line was a bit long, with only one person serving customers when I arrived. When I reached the end of the line, a staff member informed me that if I had a QR code, I needed to go outside and print it myself at the self-service machine. I wish there had been signs indicating this, as it would have saved me a lot of time. Once back to the self-service machine, the scanner for the QR code did not work, and I had to input my information manually, which was frustrating. On a positive note, parking outside is free and convenient, located in a nearby strip mall rather than directly on the road. read more

don't usually leave reviews, but I felt really uncomfortable with the way I was treated during my visit today. An employee kindly gave me instructions, which I followed ( girl on the right ) . However, I had to briefly leave the line due to an emergency. When I returned, A staff member named Ieasha helped me, then said my package was not mailable because the return and destination addresses were written too close together. but instead of offering a simple solution or explaining the issue kindly, she became very rude and condescending. She even said something along the lines of "I'm going to teach you a lesson like a teacher," which felt completely inappropriate and embarrassing, especially in front of other customers. What made the experience feel even more unfair was that earlier I saw another employee kindly offer tape to a customer for free, but when I needed a small piece, Ieasha told me it would cost $3.50. I understand policies may vary, but the inconsistency and her attitude made me feel singled out. When I asked if she could still ship the package despite the addresses being close, she flat-out refused and told me to use the self-service machine instead. I tried to explain that I was okay with it, but she wouldn't budge. The whole interaction left me feeling unwelcome and honestly discouraged me from coming back. What isn't messed up with this location? Such terrible attitudes The clerk woman deliberately closed her window when I was the only one in line. The other clerk slow walked finding some guys pkg and that took 10 minutes. Meanwhile the other clerk had to check in all the packages rather than wait on me. I asked why she closed her booth when I was the only one in line and she could see that the other one was taking a lot of time to finish. She claimed that she had to "count stamps" right that moment. I told her she made me feel really bad, I was treated like a second class Citizen. I could have stayed and demanded to see her super but why bother. Her attitude was actually assaultive. This is the second time I've come here & the self service kiosk machine works then you go to put the package in the drop bin & it says out of service. I tried to put it in at 5:41pm -- the self service kiosk closes at 6pm but the gentleman told me through the slot don't put the package in there as they are closed. I went to ship a type of item I've shipped hundreds of times before, however on this fine morning I received pushback from the employee who insisted the rules had changed recently (so recently that I had shipped a similar item just a few days prior without problem) but was unable to provide proof or documentation from USPS HQ. Her equally lazy and entitled manager backed her up. I should have taken my package and gone to another post office, but was pressed for time. The USPS really does provide some good services ( I mean, you can send a letter across the country for $0.68, amazing value) however within the past decade or so, the caliber of their employees - and their attitude - has been going down drastically. I want to update my review if one year ago to recognize big improvements at this Post Office. They now have two people behind the counter almost always. Staff if efficient and courteous despite the lines-- Marina has become so densely populated a small branch like this is sometimes overwhelmed. A lobby kiosk helps with QR scanning and Priority Mail. The staff has worked very hard this year to improve customer relations-- and it shows! read more

This place sucks. When I have come in here before they would do nice little things like give you a tiny piece of tape if you needed it. Today a woman named Tyleona told me that I needed to purchase tape. I have plenty of tape at home but I had to use an envelope that was not sticky. And so I had to buy tape for $4 the tiniest little thing of tape you've ever seen and I told her when I looked at it that it had been used because all tape has a sealing label on it. This one had ragged edges. I showed it to her and she still insisted it was brand new she lied to me. Woman at the counter insisted was brand new but she gave me one that had been used and she insisted more than once and loudly that it was new. Every single brand new tape either has a zigzag or it has a different color seal on it. Everybody knows that , as the saying goes , bitch, please. I could see if they're changing and they're getting cheaper and they don't want to do little courtesies like that, that they would be nice and apologize and say oh they said we couldn't do it anymore or something but the next person in line she offered to staple the envelope. She didn't do that for me. Plus on the last one that needed the tape after I bought the tape she told me I hadn't put on the return address and that she couldn't do it so I started writing it and she made me get out of line because there were other customers it took me all of 30 seconds to write the address. This was just punitive and snotty. Tyleona called in reinforcements, a guy who has always been nice to me and he was acting like I was trying to rob the place practically. No asking what was going on from my point of view. No discussion. You would think that she would have called him in to wait on the 10 people or so in line that we're waiting and waiting because there's only one person. But no she just wanted him as reinforcements. I've never been treated so rudely in my life. I feel like it's almost racist against white people. The way they were treating me was really deplorable. The things I were mailing were special Father's Day things and I miss my dad a lot but I'm sending some to people who are like substitute dads and also the father of my daughter. It's emotional enough with people not being nice at all they don't want to go the extra mile. But to be called out and punished kind of was just unbelievable . Lady, you could have waited the 30 seconds you had already processed two of my packages . You just didn't want to . You didn't care that the tape wasn't new . It's just one stupid white woman I guess, right? Can anybody out there tell me if they have experienced a post office where people love their jobs especially in california? . This place certainly doesn't . I guess I shouldn't think anything like that could happen at post offices anymore. It feels like most of them just really hate their jobs. There is only one exception in my wondering about the California post offices. A place in San Diego that was incredible and really stepped up to the plate. My daughter and I had over 500 envelopes to have to be weighed and stamped and the woman stayed with us all the way through and was cheery and wonderful. She never made us feel bad or made us get out of line because of other customers. I'm a customer too and that wonderful woman in San Diego realized that she was going to take care of us until the job got done. If Telona had waited maybe 20-30 seconds we could have finished the whole thing. But she decided to be confrontative and dismissive and punitive. However, I just come to drop off packages and they always let me just drop them at the desk, rather than waiting in line, since I have them prepared in advanced. I went in yesterday to use the self package drop off machine inside. Over the top of it was a big piece of paper that just had the words "Broken" on it and nothing more. The only place to drop off packages ready to go was inside of the post office. Inside, were two ladies helping out customers in line. One of the two seemed tired and didn't wish to be there and was curt with any customer who came up to her window. When she told people that the post office was closed. She just closed the doors and continued to be curt with other customers. Later on a person came in and said they were dropping off packages. The woman informed them that they were trespassing and could be arrested. The customer exclaimed that they had no proper signage on what to do with packages already ready to mail off. Even with myself in line I didn't know what to do with my pre-paid mail until that stint went off. Normally, when the drop off box is closed, a post office will still have customers wait in line, or go out and ask if anyone has a package that is pre-paid and ready to send out unless you want a receipt. Here, the people acted as is EVERYONE had to know what to do and how to do it the second they came in. Overall, I would not recommend using their services inside. The workers seem as if this isn't their job and you as a customer should know what you're doing at all times. I can understand people having a bad day, but you never take that out on the customer. read more

This place deserves no stars but Yelp insisted. The level of incompetence of the supervisor there is mind blowing! I came to this location to submit a claim for a package that was deemed lost by USPS. USPS sent me an email earlier saying that after investigation (there is a case number and all), the package was deemed lost and that I should go to ANY office to submit the attached forms after filling them. The supervisor at this location refused to even look at the forms saying that she cannot accept them because she doesn't know whether the package is lost. I tried to show her the USPS email and tried mentioning the case number for her to look it up in the system, but it was worse than talking to a wall. I talked to my apartment walls during Covid and it was a much more pleasant experience. I went to another USPS location after, and I was helped with no issues. read more

Ok, I am here to upset the apple cart. This was my first visit to this particular USPS location, as I am last-minute-girl and needed to mail my federal and state taxes after finding out I could not e-file them. Did not expect that. So I showed up with both my federal and state taxes in envelopes, with Certified Mail forms filled out, thinking I would be in and out in 15 minutes. When I showed up right about noon, there were two people working the front desk, a man and a woman. Five minutes after my arrival, the man loudly announced that he was going on break. I turned around and saw ten more people waiting behind me and sighed. At that exact moment, the woman who was waiting on us got a phone call. Apparently one of her friends or family members was ill and her conversation went something to the effect of, "I will call you back as soon as I'm done with this customer." There was no one else at the desk, and more people getting on line. We were all despairing. And her customer was taking FOREVER. After about half an hour of waiting, this angel named Ray showed up. An extremely kind, professional and solicitous man who took me out of line where I was waiting to get my pre-addressed tax envelopes sent by certified mail. He HOOKED ME UP. Took me through the process and was the epitome of spectacular customer service. Once I was in Ray's hands, I was out of there in ten minutes even though he had a queue of people. Here's my takeaway. RAY. IS. AWESOME. The rest of this place, not so much. But RAY REDEEMS THIS SORRY ASS POST OFFICE LOCATION!! If you're smart and don't have time to waste, ask for Ray!! He is an amazing kind and professional man who will take care of you!! read more

I've went to so many USPS locations even in the valley, and I can confidently say this is the WORST location in customer service. I was going to use the self-service machine but a lady was using it and I was in rush - so I headed to the counter. I said Hi (with a manner) to the lady named "Ieasha" then she literally said "you know you can do that over there right?" with a very mean tone with no welcome. I said there's a long wait and there's no line here, and she just didn't say anything but gave me a side eye.
