This is a private place with parking on the sides. They were all full though we were the only customers so I am assuming it's all employees and they are pretty informal with where to put your car. Layout- Its not the longest walk but due to the nature of the product, expect to hoof it. All outdoors with not shade expect a small potter section and inside the office. Selection- I imagine this is more for contractors as prices are not posted and clear so it can fluctuate with the buyer. Again I suspect this but an not sure. They have loads of larger rocks and very small selection of smaller rocks. Price- all by the pound. We looking at miss rock and some smaller multicolored round rock for .20 and .30 a pound. Customer service- friendly enough staff but expect a little rough around the edges. We were greeting pretty quickly when we pulled up which I appreciated. Recommends: bring pictures of what you want and don't want to make everything go more smoothly. The sales guy advised this and I agree.

I actually came in wanting a magnolia but left with these because I had no idea about the many varieties of tree species! Dan being full of knowledge on each type of tree, carefully considered location, preferences, long term vision, and all the details to curate the perfect fit for the look I'm going for. I still will get my magnolia for my front yard next season because they were gorgeous. I want to note that I have seen comments on pricing being high with Moon Valley in general, but from my experience of seeing how healthy and well loved the trees are cared for, plus with excellent service both at the nursery and the crew putting the trees in, it's worth the quality investment and puts equity into your property. So plan a day exploring the beautiful variety of trees they carry and ask for Dan, especially if you're looking for a custom experience and have a longterm goal in mind!

Depending on your…read moreproject you can shop at the big box stores which provide for your average needs, but if you are doing any kind of private landscaping, gardening or want the exacting standards of quality materials with low environmental impact then local businesses like Nature's Way Resources is the way to go. For this project, I aerated and dethatched part of my front yard and it was in need of a good base layer for the soil to recover; in addition to, landscaping a front patio area. I ordered 1 1/2 Cubic Yard Leaf Mold Compost, 1/2 Yard of Landscaper mix, a few Black-eyed Susan, a Mexican Sage bush and some other pollinators. Due to the time saved from gathering all my materials from this one location saved me $$$ and I was able to complete the project in a weekend. If your need is not as expansive they offer bagged soil for smaller needs, but to get the best value I would partner with a fellow DIYers with pickup trucks and order loose materials or have it delivered on site. Nature's Way Resources also have a big selection of mulch, compost, fertilizers and offer a Green Waste Recycling program. If you read this post to the end, I will let you in on a little secret.....they have a rock garden in the rear where contractors and DIYers dump material not needed and you will find some gems for FREE. All you need to do is sign a liability waiver at the front desk and recommend you have some sturdy steel toe boots, gloves, and watch out for critters.

Because I reside outside the area, I researched several florists and chose Always in Bloom, even though I knew I would be charged for the extra mileage. It was New Year's Eve day, and I didn't expect anyone to answer, but Cherie did. I told her about my nephew's passing and what I was looking for. Not only did Cherie listen and go above and beyond to ensure she understood my desires, but she was also extremely kind and sympathetic. Before the delivery, she sent a photo of the arrangement, which brought tears to my eyes because it was more beautiful than I could have imagined. I used to like these guys. I came here in on a soil run. I needed some potting soil I came to buy 3 bags since I know I'll need more later this year. I usually just get the bags then go inside and pay but this time I went inside first. I was met by the guy here, I'm guessing the owner. I've never really conversed much in my previous visits, I just bought what I needed and left so I never met anybody. Anyway, they had some fresh fruit in styrofoam cups on the counter and I was asking about them while buying my soil so he let me try some. Everything tasted great & fresh so I decided to buy a cup of blackberries. Paid for my soil & blackberries. He did something strange. He poured my blackberries out of the cup and into a thin plastic bag with nothing else protecting them. I was concerned but didn't ask which I regret because sure enough, some of them got mushed otw home because they were just in a thin bag on my seat. Even from the grocery stores they come in a container. Then after I paid and was on my way out, he said "I'll go get the bags you need. Just backup and I'll load them." I thought that was weird because I didn't ask for help getting my soil and have always gotten them myself all the past times I've been here. But I'm generally not a confrontational person so I just left it alone. Sure enough, he gave me the worse bag he could find on their pallet just to get rid of them. Two of the bags of soil got some green stuff at the bottom like they been sitting there way too long and one of the other bags was busted open and spilling dirt by time I made it home. These are bags I probably wouldn't have grabbed myself so I'm sure he was happy to "unload" them on somebody. I don't like dealing with aggressive people and though I used to frequent here and live relatively close by, I'm not sure I'll return. They may have just lost a return customer.

If you want to truly repair or maintain a healthy lawn go with sod. Prior planning is highly recommended because if you have a quality product it does sell out due to high demand. They are not the cheapest nor the most expensive. The prices are comparable with supply, but ask yourself this, What is the value of your time and yard, do you want something that is Good, Fast or Cheap..pick two! The selection and thickness of the various landscaping rocks is decent.
