He was selling a Nissan with two broken car handles, and didn't disclose to us there was an oil leak. Our other brother had to tell us, thank goodness we called him before buying the car. SCAM ARTIST!!!!!! We purchased a car from Terry's U Save Auto's on a Monday night. We took the car to our mechanic on Tuesday morning to give it a tune up at which time we were told the car had frame damage. We notified Terry and he told us to bring the car back so he could have his mechanic look at it. His mechanic also told him that the car needs a whole new subframe. Terry expects us to pay for 50% of the subframe repair. While it is not illegal to sell a car with frame damage in Illinois, it IS illegal to to sell the car WITHOUT disclosing the frame damage to the buyer. Terry says that rule doesn't apply to him because we bought the car "as is." Unfortunately it DOES apply to him because the auction house where he purchased the car from was legally obligated to notify HIM of the frame damage. Illinois law also state that an "as is" clause does not apply when a transaction was made fraudulently. Were we sold a car fraudulently? I don't know about any other consumer, but my husband and I certainly would not know what frame damage looks like. So Terry says the law doesn't apply to him...you be the judge. read more

Recently purchased a truck from Terry U Save Auto with opportunity to have my personal mechanic to look at the vehicle , a road test with a notable transmission service and discovered the trans was slipping in all gears . Without hesitation Terry honored the warranty and replaced the trans , even providing a loaner while we waited to get our truck back . Always when buying a used vehicle it seems as though your buying someone else's problems but Terry made this experience tolerable with his eagerness to help correct the situation . I bought a car from them this weekend. It was a great transaction. Terry was very helpful, and while I did not want to tell him how much I wanted to spend once I did it was better. He showed me a group of vehicles, below, above and at my price range. He was honest about what I was looking at and it gave me a great sense of what my money was going to buy. After I decided to buy the vehicle it was a matter of 15 minutes and I was out the door. I have bought a lot of cars and usually getting the paperwork done and then all the 'hard sell' insurance, rustproofing, tire coverage takes forever. I mentioned this because I had a similar experience as the other reviewers. I called about the 2001 Honda CR-V (VIN: JHLRD18701S015965) and the person who answered the phone was rude. I asked if I could take the car to a mechanic to get it inspected and he got defensive. He kept asking me where do I plan to take it. Well, I always do my research and I planned to have a pre-purchase inspection by an qualified mechanic. I also ran a Carfax and I discovered the vehicle was serviced in Lisle, IL at the Honda Superstore of Lisle. After I told him where I planned to take it, the conversation went downhill and he said no you cannot take it there because it was too far. It's only a 20 minute drive. And when I asked if the price of the car was negotiable he said yes you can pay more. Why would I want to pay more. Before you purchase an used vehicle always get it inspected by a good mechanic because the pre-purchase inspections cost between $60-$150 and five Carfax reports cost $60, but it might save you thousands of dollars from buying a lemon or damaged vehicle. read more

I can only believe that the "positive" reviews are probably fake. The owner of this so called dealership is one of the most horrible "human beings" I've ever met. I was in this past weekend looking for a decent car for my mom. I thought we found one there. After driving it, I noticed the wheel alignment was way off and there were a few other problems. I asked if they could fix that really quickly or take some money off of the asking price and the owner flipped out. He started saying horrible things to me in front of my children. When I finally had had enough, I got up calmly and started to walk out. He said, "have a nice life." I said, "Thank you. You too." Then he said, "I sure will. Better than you will." A friend had come with me and he was the last to walk out. Terry, the owner, yelled at him to "Go F*** yourself." I was in such shock. Still 4 days later, I can't believe the words that came out of Terry's mouth and how he treated a customer that was prepared to pay for the car in full. Do not purchase a vehicle from U Save Autos. I purchased a vehicle a few months ago and ended up sinking in more in repairs than the purchase price of the vehicle. The last repair of many was to rebuild the transmission, even though Terry indicated that the car was mechanically sound at time of purchase. Purchased a truck here aprox 7 months ago owner lied not just to my husband and i but also to the finance company; sadly I was in a aweful accident which totaled the truck my insurance company wanted the copies of the finance contracts I Send in the original paperwork i recevied when i purchased the truck about a day later i received a phone call not only from the insurance company but the finance company everyone had different amounts on their paperwork We had to come to a fair agreement of what the purchase price actaully was as none of us had the correct sales contracts and My Terry Owner of U save autos refused to provide any and all paperwork for my deal. the a day later terry the owner of U save started to harrass (via phone about 30 calls daliy) me on a daily basis for about a month until i contact the police he also went as far as to put a bogus account on of my huband and myselfs credit reports and advised us he was going to ruin our credit!! This man and business is bad news stay away I have gotten the bogus account off our credit reports and we are now along with the backing of the finance company awaiting word from Lisa Madigan's Illinois states attorney office so we can proceed with a deception practice case against Mr Terrence Foley(AKA Owner of U Save Autos) we have also obtained a police report number for the harassment part of the case. I wish I could give 0 stars. Worst dealership ever. Terry the owner has a temper problem, gets mad very easily. Bad customer service. My dad bought me a car from here in 2013, had warranty on it. After a few days driving it, a check engine light came on. I called and Terry said to bring it in and he'll take a look at it. The next morning I drove all the way to aurora (I'm from oak park) to give it to him. My mom said unnecessary things but he refused to look at my car even tho I had warranty on it! Really bad customer service. He locked me and my mom outside. He wouldn't let us back in and he yelled me at my face to get out. You don't do that to customers at all. Did I mention he had a temper problem? In the end I drove there for nothing. Still had warranty on my car. Do not buy a car from him, he will say you have warranty but he won't look at it. He failed to tell us the history of this car such as the accidents and that the bumpers were replace, he said it was just a cautionary measure not an accident. Not only that, but one day after I bought the car, my car did not start because the battery was dead. Hell no! I bought a car two weeks ago and everything was smelling bad on my car. I took it in to be looked at and they showed me everything wrong with the car I had purchased. I got to see that the tires were ripped on both front tires facing inward and they will burst any time. Then the power steering is messed up. The lug nuts were rusted off the two back tires and the break pad also. There is a massive oil leak that I didnt know about until i started to smell it. And the check engine light was pulled out.The emissions won't pass when he said it passed in Aurora. Then theres leaks everywhere. Now I am stuck with these unsafe car.
