    Response to Owner's comments You are asking for record of the tire rotation being performed. I don't have one but please see attached screen captures 1, 2 & 3. These are time stamped WhatsApp conversation between me and my wife dated July 25th 2019, between 12 & 1 pm. Once I got a notification that the shop performed had completed the oil change, I inquired about the tire rotation. I had specifically asked the owner for this when I made the appointment. My wife checked with the technician who responded that "I had not asked for a tire rotation". After this I called my wife and spoke to her and the technician directly, explaining that the owner had agreed to perform the tire rotation. The technician then checked with the owner who confirmed that a tire rotation was to be performed. Then a tire rotation was performed and for this my wife spent another 30 minutes at Honest1. You say your records don't reflect a tire rotation. That may be because your staff did not update the record correctly. Hindsight is 20/20 had I anticipated that the tire rotation would lead to a problem, I surely would have made them put it in the record. All I know is no other oil change/ tire rotation has been done on my vehicle since July 25th. See the Honest1 oil change sticker still on my car windshield. Had any other shop done an oil change/ tire rotation they would have replaced this with their own. Cosco gave me in writing that the lug nut was mounted incorrectly and was cross threaded so they had to break the stud to mount the new tire.

    I've never been motivated to write a review of an auto repair shop but this one is truly an exception. Just had the rear brakes replaced on my car and it wasn't the price that got me (although it was $30 less that my precious quote) it was the service, convenience, warranty and an unexpected bonus! Greeted by the FEMALE owner, we were seated in a pleasant and clean waiting area, quickly got an estimate, were driven home and picked up when the car was ready! The bonus was an extra $25 off the quoted price, a 3yr/36,000 warranty AND 1 year of roadside assistance up to $75 cost reimbursement per incident! Fresh coffee, good snacks, and referrals that add up to real money! I urge you to try them, a very pleasant experience. Today I received a handwritten thank you note from the owner, Karen Conway! Nice touch, way to go!

    They lived up to their name. Stopped in for an emergency radiator repair on a Saturday morning & was in & out in less than 3 hours. Fixed what needed to be fixed & didn't try to get me to spend more. Amazing customer service, I loved the "thank you" note & snack for the road, it really was a nice touch to an unexpected repair.

    I've been coming to Honest-1 Auto care instead of my usual Toyota dealership for oil change and I have never been happier about my switch. Just like most auto shops, it helps to make an appointment. It's very easy to make an appointment online, so I would suggest to do that before showing up to the shop. The waiting area is small but is very clean and organized. I love how they have a kids area. They do provide complimentary coffee and snacks even though McDonalds and Starbucks are right next door. I've always received warm greetings when I check in for my appointment. They do give you an option of dropping your car off and they will give you a call when your car is ready. I love how they email you a breakdown of the car assessment. So you can see which things need attention and decide if you want them done there or not. I also like the location. It's easy to find, with plenty of parking. Make sure to check their website for coupons prior to your appointment. I haven't had any bad experience with them, hopefully it stays that way.

    My husband took our car in for a simple oil change. We didn't get our car back when we should have,…read moreso we called and asked what was going on. They said they had taken it out for a test drive to see if they could figure out a noise the car was making. Another hour and a half later, close to closing time, they called to tell us that while driving our car the 20 or so feet from their work bay to a parking spot, our car's ENGINE HAD SEIZED UP AND WAS NON-FUNCTIONAL. They tried to play it off like it wasn't their fault and said they'd "help us" by finding a used engine at a junkyard (of equal mileage, approx 77K) and installing it. Took them about a month to do so. They gave us a 6 month warranty on the "junkyard" engine and free oil changes. Needless to say, they screwed us. Our car now reads 88K miles EVERY time we check the mileage on a mechanics machine, our air conditioning was never charged on the new engine, our spark plugs are crap, and our alternator needs to be replaced. Basically, they managed to render our car useless/destroyed during a SIMPLE OIL CHANGE. Andrew, the manager, said he would "help us out"... the car is now worth nothing for a trade-in because of their BS. My husband is a nice guy who had recently been through a bypass operation, and Andrew and the owner took advantage of his being nice and not one to make a fuss. DO NOT TRUST this place, DO NOT patronize them! I don't know how they did it, but they seized up our engine and destroyed our vehicle without a real care in the world about what they had done. My husband and I BOTH FEEL USED AND ABUSED. We own the car, and now our property is basically useless for driving or a trade-in. An oil change at this Merlin might seem like a good deal, and cheaper than a dealership would charge, but it's NOT WORTH IT. If they screw up your car during a simple oil change and seize the engine, they WON'T "make it right". They'll "fix" it as cheaply as they can and leave you screwed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MERLIN AT ALL COSTS!!!

I am always on the lookout for specials that car repairs are running because car maintenance is costly and every bit helps. I made an appointment with Tuffys in Oswego, without ever having visited this place before. I received an advertisement for an oil change special, which my car was in need of. I only planned on getting this oil necessary oil change service done and was not aware of any other services needed. When I arrived to the Tuffy location there was not anyone there at the desk to greet me or check me in for my appointment, which I had called in advance for. I sat down and noticed a steady stream of ants encircling some liquid that may have spilled and food of the floor that looked dried up for sometime. I was not comfortable from the start because I couldn't seem to find anywhere to sit where the ants were not circling around. While this is a car maintenance shop, I still felt there was a definite lack in sanitary conditions as the waiting area was very unkept, with cobwebs and insects collecting around and under the couch. It looked like the place had not been tended to for a very long time and the ants seemed to be taking over the waiting area. It was not what I would call a welcoming place, and in hindsight I guess I probably should have taken it as a sign to take my business elsewhere. However, since I was already there and my service was a routine procedure, I decided to brave through and stand and wait for my service to complete. I spoke to Mike, whom I found out later, was the manager running this site. Mike told me me that I had not completed my 30K service and he let me know that they would be able to take care of that for a certain cost. While I was hesitant to get additional services done, I did want to prepare my car for the winter, so I decided to fulfill service in addition to the oil change. The part where I was very disappointed with was when Mike, the manager, showed me that the lower arm on the bottom of my Camry had what he said was a bushing that was cracking. He explained it was a part on a metal arm that supports the tires in place. I asked if just the "cracking bushing" could be fixed, and he said that the entire metal arm would need to be replaced. He mentioned this would cost $883.92! I obviously did not have that kind of money to spend on a service, which I did not know whether this was even necessary. I declined this service and am going to get a second and maybe even third opinion as I do not think the entire metal arm needs to be replaced for just a small rubber part that is cracking. I got the feeling that unnecessary services were being pushed on me with exorbitant pricing. I did not appreciate that because it not only undermines the customer's faith that the business will ultimately do good business but it really keeps customers leery when it comes to car maintenance shops. When I mentioned the ant situation to the manager, he apologized but did not seem at all surprised or concerned that this was a problem needing to be taken care of. Overall, I intended to just have a routine oil change and ended up also getting an additional 30K mileage service done as well. I do not believe the "cracked bushing" should cost $800+ to repair, but it is something I will need to research and look into if it becomes a major concern that needs to be fixed later on down the road. When it comes to car shops, my expectation is that the workers have integrity and be transparent. If they are to be trusted as the professional in their field, I would expect that they would not try to take advantage of those of us, who are not car experts and simply want to keep their cars running safely. Rather, I would hope those claiming to be car professionals would act with this kind of integrity, so as to put the customer at ease. Also, keeping a clean and sanitary waiting area for the customer is a way to invite returning customers rather than drive the guests away.
