My iphone 12 became a pain to charge. The USB-C Fast charging cable would fall out, it wouldn't charge. It would start to charge, then stop....I had watched a video on how to clean out my iphone charging port that gets lint in it. I tried to clean in there 2 times over past month and Nothing came out. I took it in to see if the cable was the issue or if the phone needed to be repaired. The service tech was super nice and fixed my iphone. He had the correct size slender electronics tweezers and pulled out a small pile of compressed lint. I just had an awful experience getting a new battery for my phone in this store last Monday, Mike took my order, Yelizar did the work. I was told to come back in 2 to 3 hours to pick up, and they would email me when ready. However 5.5 hours later, i still got no email, so I just showed up again, it turned out the work was done a couple of hours ago, no one cared or had time to inform me. $110 plus tax later, Yelizar handed me the phone, but guess what? Now my phone has a broken camera and a couple of other annoying issues. When I asked why, Yelizar told me it's nothing he did, I had to contact my phone's manufacture to resolve the issues. This is truly a nightmarish experience to me, if they really don't have the knowhow to do the job, they should not be so eager to take my order and take my money and then give me back a partially broken phone. I knew from the moment I called the woman was going to deny the Warranty Repair. I have record of it in my emails with Google Support. There is an issue with the Google Pixel 8 screen after the latest Android update. They've even extended the Warranty. This UBreakIFix place should have their partnership revoked. Any signs of use at all and they'll deny Google's warranty. Google is aware and has opened an internal ticket. First contact call, I was told to give UBreakIFix the IMEI number. I offered that but the snotty woman said well I will look over the phone to see if it's eligible for warranty, if not we can still repair it (indicating denying the warranty, looking back). As soon as I walk in I KNEW without a doubt she was going to pull some BS excuse as there were 3 people ahead of me all bringing back previous repairs. So it's my turn, I hand over the phone and the woman wasn't friendly or nice and I felt out of place following Google's instructions to go here. They told me to bring the email approving the warranty Repair for the well known faulty screen (YouTube Pixel 8 Green screen and you'll see....it's VERY well known introduced with the most recent update). She points to a super tiny chip ON MY SCREEN PROTECTOR and said "I can deny it just for that because it shows the device was mishandled". I was stunned so I just said "mmmmk". I said I can just remove it and you'll see there's no damage to the phone so you can't really assume it's been mishandled. She said all rude "You brought it into MY STORE with it on so it's TOO LATE". I'm like "mmmmk" again just dumfounded at how much this person clearly doesn't want to support Google's Warranty. I'm certain now it's because they make more on charging customers than Google. Eventually they'll get caught when enough people complain back to Google, the rep w Google helping me said. It doesn't end there! So she THREATENED to deny the Warranty but didn't and just disappeared with my unlocked phone for 6 minutes. I thought we'd be getting the IMEI or Id have locked it. I asked if I should put it in Repair Mode which protects your info. She said "not yet I haven't approved anything". Well ok! So she disappears for 6 minutes and comes back waving my immaculately maintained phone around saying there's a small chip here and one here and one here....none of which I can see even now! In fact I challenge the Store Owner to ask me for proof. I've taken detailed scans at 1200 DPI to prove it. Remember this is for a CLEARLY DEFECTIVE DIGITIZER WITH A RECALL KNOWN BY GOOGLE. It shouldn't matter anyway about the screen if it's faulty but my screen had NO DAMAGE. I said I couldn't see it and she kept waving the phone around like a child. I felt stupid at this point. Way to make your customer feel. She then said you have to hold a light just right and kept waving it around by then I stopped trying to keep up and was obviously over it. Still now that I'm home, I'm using a high powered light with a magnifying glass I use for sports cards grading and I see nothing. She also swiped her finger along the bottom and traced what was clearly NOT a straight line to the detective symptoms on the screen. I'm like you can swipe your finger and say it's from anywhere! She traced it like our most favorite Tetris piece, the "long L" to try to make sense of it matching up. I'm not an idiot so I didn't fall for her scam when she said "At this time I'll be denying the warranty but can still repair it.". So basically my immaculate phone was denied a Google mandated warranty repair for a faulty digitizer NOT THE SCREEN. This is important because my screen could've been reused. She blamed the unseen damage is what caused the WELL DOCUMENTED FAULTY GOOGLE DIGITIZER BROKEN BY THE LAST UPDATE - I'm not exaggerating, go see for itself. The update affected alot of devices and Google is aware. These people are SCAVENGERS they don't want to do Google warranty Repairs so they find any excuse to wrongly deny it. Ignore this review at your own peril. As soon as you walk in you'll see why I think I'm glad they didn't repair it. With yet another person who entered the store started his conversation with her "I was here last week and my phone was repaired....." I just walked out without another word. I wouldn't let them touch my phone if the Owner asked. Suspiciously, I received a call from Google on the way home saying a login attempt from another State was attempted. Coincidence? I'm now concerned about my data and what was done when my phone disappeared out of sight. That alone should scare you away....the place is set up so they do their investigated out of your line of sight. With your phone. I could argue she put the (non existent) chips because they weren't there before! There still isn't any chips, you get my point. What's to stop them from damaging it just enough that no one would honor a warranty. This is THAT kind of place. UBreakIFix is a SCAM company. Absolutely terrible. Google has apologized. read more

This shop is convenient to our home. Last year we paid to have something repaired. The young man seemed knowledgeable and after repairing the item, he convinced us to to purchase monthly premium coverage that would save us money when we brought something in another time. It's based on the initial visit I gave them 2 stars. Fast forward 11 months, and I had a cd-rw, that would not eject. I took the external cd/dvd drive in, when my wife reminded me that we were paying monthly for the repair plan. When I went in (on a Friday) a young man greeted me, and said it would be Tuesday before anyone could look at it. I said that was fine, but he kept referring to it as an 'external hard drive' . I attempted 3 times to explain it was a CD/ROM drive, but he looked very puzzled. ( I thought the slot was a clue ????) The manager? technician? Yelled from behind the glass that it's 'CD drive!' . I added that it was Mac SuperDrive. I mentioned that I had the plan, and they said in that case I would need to go home, and file a claim, over the phone or online. They said 'it's like car insurance. You have to file a claim first, and then get it repaired' I felt they were a little condescending at this point, but I pointed out that they had been willing to sell the plan, and I had been given the impression I could just come there when I needed? No, I would need to go home, and file a claim, over the phone or online. Then they said also,it might be $50-100 deductible. That was the last straw. A brand new one at the Apple store is $79! I will deal with the company the plan was thru, and the cancel it. I could have nearly purchased 4 SuperDrives with money I paid over the last 11 months. More like u break and then they also break. I needed my phone screen replaced , so I went here . The staff was nice, and they replaced my phone screen in less than 2 hours . Everything was fine until my screen unexpectedly stopped working 2 weeks later. I was across the USA at a wedding and had no choice but to get another screen. The person who fixed my phone screen again ($450 now in 2 weeks on this phone screen) told me that the last person who fixed this screen failed to do a "data back up ". They gave me the screen that Ubreak put on my phone and said to take it back to them . So I did just that . I was questioned on "why" didn't I find a Ubreak location on my trip and that they have "never" heard of a data back up . The second person I talked to on my trip was a computer science major , so yeah I trust their opinion more than than the arrogant Ubreak worker. Even with bringing the screen they put on my phone back to them , it "broke" contract because I was forced to get it replaced at a non Ubreak location.
