My dad & I visited this location to ensure his leg had no clots after helping me move and seeing some visible marks on his skin. We wanted to make sure he was clear to fly in a few days. EVERYONE we met was incredibly nice and they took all measures to ensure he was okay. Ultrasound on his leg, full blood work and Dr. Ted spent lots of time with us to make sure no stone was unturned. Dr. Ted was incredibly kind and has the best bedside manners I've seen. I really appreciate the empathy from everyone in the office. I visited UC Health yesterday when I had travelled with my daughter from Virginia because she is moving to Denver. In the past, I had blood clots on my left leg and yesterday I woke up with this weird rash looking situation on my leg. My hematologist in Virginia said if there were changes to go to see a doctor ASAP. Well, we went to the right place!! Even though I had no record with UC Health they checked me right in and I was seen promptly. The took my Cigna account and right after a quick collection of my info I was ushered into a room and seen by an excellent head nurse named Sherpa- I think (Please excuse if I misspell any names). She checked me out, took my vitals, and I was quickly seen by Dr Khatri. I feel so lucky! The doctor was very knowledgeable and thorough, asked the right questions and he quickly recommended an ultrasound. Again, the lady that administered the ultrasound was precise, well versed and thorough. Her technique was so good I soon caught myself sleeping. After the test results were reviewed by the doctor he also recommended a blood workup/tests. So, my overall experience at UC Health was excellent!!! Trust me, I have seen good and bad care in my past because I am a retired Marine and I've seen my share of doctors. I felt very well taken care of, my condition was thoroughly assessed and my get well plan was comprehensive. I totally recommend this Emergency Room to anyone in the area because of the care I received yesterday. everyone i interacted with here was absolutely amazing. i've had the same procedure done at a different hospital and was super traumatized by it, Dr. Wyatt made this time a million times better. he made sure i had breaks and was talking me through everything. i'm not sure what the nurses name was but she was also amazing. they even called me the next morning and i thought it'd be about billing stuff but no, they just wanted to check to make sure i was doing okay and if i had any questions. it was also super fast to get checked in and then brought back to a room. i will absolutely be coming back here if i ever need to go to an ER again. read more

It was dirty, sheets didn't fit the bed. staff wasn't just rude they were threatening. because we arrived after 10pm we were charged at emergency room rates for treatment of a virus. A couple months ago I was sent here from an urgent care because of a migraine but wanted to write my review anyway. I was seated quickly and they turned the lights off for me and closed to door. The PA or MD can't remember came in to see me and I was throwing up into a bag and couldn't even turn. She was asking me basic questions that I could do thumbs up or thumbs down to and was very understanding. A ct tech came in and was kind of an ass because I had asked for nausea medication before I went to the scan and she just walked out and then came back in and again was kinda an ass but whatever went to the CT( the nurse and pa made up for her attitude) Came back and they gave me some meds and the nurse and PA/MD were fantastic. I wish I was competent enough at the time to remember their names!! I never had IV meds ever before and I had this weird sensation in my chest and I told the nurse and she reassured me and calmed me down that it was completely normal and will pass, very nice to hear bc I'm an anxious girly. I felt so much better after leaving and they made sure I had a ride because the meds make you tired and overall had a great experience there. Hopefully never have to go back but if I do it would be to here. read more

5pm on a weekday I expected to wait in a big hospital ER for hours. Fortunately I double checked the map and found this place. I was in and out in under an hour with everything I needed. The entire team was friendly and professional. I got into a room so fast that someone from the front desk came into my room and filled out my intake paperwork with me. The doctor was professional yet relatably casual. They answered my questions and concerns, gave me clear directions for next steps, and made sure I felt completely taken care of before discharging me. Going to the ER is never a "good" thing but I can't imagine having a better experience during an otherwise stressful situation. read more

Came in after vomiting and diarrhea for 3 hours. The lady at the front was awesome and fast. Once I was back a doctor was sent in and was EXTREMELY rude and unfriendly. She told me it was because of my THC use even though diarrhea is not a symptom and I was not under the influence of THC and hadn't been recently. I asked about fluids due to being very dehydrated and was told no and that I can only have oral medication. I have never met a more inconsiderate and unfriendly doctor who is supposed to treat ill people. The emergency room was empty so there was no need for the rude treatment I received. The oral medication that was given did NOT work. The nurse who helped me was much much more friendly and understanding and was able to give me treatment that actually helped. I don't normally write reviews, and especially not negative ones, but the experience I had here was so disappointing that I felt compelled to leave one. I came here as I was experiencing worsening abdominal pain over a couple days, and I was starting to get worried about it. I don't have a ton of knowledge about medical testing & procedures, but at the advice of a close person in my life who has a lot of experience in the medical field, I was encouraged to be seen for blood work and hopefully imaging. The nurse was initially friendly, but did questions before testing if the pain I was experiencing was due to menstrual cramps, which admittedly felt a bit condescending. Then asked if it was due to pregnancy, again before testing or evaluating. I am not pregnant. They did bloodwork, and when the doctor came in to discharge me, I was encouraged again by my close friend to ask if there was any way I could have imaging done for my peace of mind. The problem arose not with the fact that the doctor refused to do imaging, because I do understand that he knows a lot more about all of that than I do. The problem was that he not only laughed at me when I asked, but he made several sarcastic comments about it as well. Instead of explaining why he thought imaging wasn't necessary, or asking if I had any questions, he belittled me for even asking which was incredibly embarrassing, as I was already nervous and feeling unknowledgeable about what was going on. As I was also there alone. At the advice of my friend, I politely asked him to note in my chart that he was refusing imaging, to which he responded that the lack of imaging orders in my chart would indicate that, and again laughing at me. As I was being discharged by the nurse and raised my concerns with her, her attitude completely changed. She became irritated, questioning my friends medical qualifications and why it would be noted that a doctor refused to perform testing, before saying "well that's not how we do that here." I want to reiterate that the problem was NOT with the fact that they would not perform imaging, but the fact that I was LAUGHED at and made to feel like a nuisance multiple times, it was not explained to me why he didn't think imaging was necessary, and that I was met with belittlement for wanting it noted in my chart, which is indeed a fair thing for any patient to ask for. There were a couple other things involving other patients interacting with employees there that made me uncomfortable, and I was hoping the staff was just having an off day. After seeing the other reviews, however, it seems like dismissal of patients is fairly common at this practice. I'm leaving this review so other potential patients can see it, but more so in hopes that the staff can be more compassionate when it comes to something that is very vulnerable and anxiety inducing. Also when I was checking out, I witnessed Doctor Brian and the receptionist making fun and laughing at someone's question on the phone, after she took the phone call. I can only imagine what they said about me once I left. I wouldn't come back even if my life was on the line. Terrible staff. Not to mention I was not explained any diagnoses and on my chart they said I had abdominal pain. And proscribed me over the counter heart burn medicine, even though I had no symptoms of heart burn. read more

I then went to Lutheran medical where I then received 4 stitches in my hand. Went in today for heart palpitations. They immediately took me back and set me up with a EKG. The nurses and doctors were incredibly sweet and patient. They both went over everything and made sure I understood everything before leaving. I'm not impressed. I might not come back even if I'm on death's door. I should have read the reviews before coming here! I brought my daughter in to be seen (couldn't get into family doctor for a few days) and have been greeted by a semi hostile crew. I have been questioned multiple times about why I chose an ER over her family doctor. When I explained to the nurse and then doctor that I need to help my daughter find out if she has strep or an ear infection or not, the doctor seemed agitated and inconvenienced. My daughter is 11, she's in pain and I just wanted to have her checked out. Is that too much to ask? If you treat all your customers like this, it's no wonder why the parking lot is always empty! I'm aware this is an Emergency Room and not an urgent care or family practice, but that doesn't give them the right to be rude or hostile to patients that don't fit into the ideal's of the business. Impressively bad! Now I know ERs aren't people's favorite places but this one really takes the cake for incompetent in both technical aspect and bedside manner. I came here because I rolled my foot and wanted to make sure it wasn't broken because it really hurt, and they kept asking me to walk on it before ruling out a fracture. The last time I rolled my foot it did break, and it hurt similar to this time so I wanted to make sure. Untreated fractures can be serious so I thought I was being responsible. I don't know what it means when it really hurts to put weight on it and wiggle my toes, the last time I put weight on it, there was a fracture. The fact that we did an X-ray means there was a possibility. The X-ray wasn't even complete and only checked my ankle even though my last fracture happened elsewhere in my foot - how hard is it to include the entire foot in an X-ray? There are other reviews calling this place dangerous and I must agree. They seem like the type to miss a lot. The only way to use the restroom was to walk across the hall, no one would help me and they seemed to look at me like I was nuts and said, "it's just right there." It was not in fact "right there," it was down the hall and around the corner, why are healthcare professionals demanding that I put my weight on my foot if we are still waiting for X-ray results to see if it's fractured? The doorways barely allow wheelchairs through, it's a whole comical struggle. They gave me an ice pack with no towel over it, which can burn the skin, looked totally put out when I asked for aftercare instructions. I mention certain details because some of them are absolute basics, and if they can't get that right, then how can they be trusted with serious matters? It's almost like patients go to healthcare facilities and ask questions because doctors should be able to answer them. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, not as punching bags for personal insecurities. This place is like three children in a trench coat pretending to be doctors. The doctor rolled his eyes at me, didn't fully listen to my concerns or symptoms, and dismissed me, typical crotchety dude with obvious insecurities. There was some guy on the floor that actually scoffed at me for asking questions about the tests. They have horrible communication, desperately need sensitivity training, and they seem to hate their jobs here. This place is a tiny building the size of an Urgent Care, if you need anything other than an X-ray after hours I recommend going to a real ER, and if you get the X-ray here they might not even take a complete one. Other reviews say they charge more than other hospitals. This place is a very accurate example why people don't trust healthcare. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this facility. No one wants to find themselves in a situation where they need to go to the ER but we were unfortunately directed to go twice in one week. We found this location as it was nearby and a friend recommended that we go to a UCHealth hospital. We were greeted by friendly staff and seen promptly. The doctor didn't insist on repeating imaging we had just an hour prior which was nice. We felt like the doctor explained everything really well and I didn't feel like we were being rushed out of there. Then we found ourselves heading back to the ER later in the week and decided to go back to this location. Again, we were seen promptly. This time we did need imaging. The doctor explained the blood work that was being ordered as well as the imaging that was being done. After consulting with a radiologist, he followed up with a pulmonologist and hematologist to confirm we had as much information for care as possible. Again, I felt we were well tended to and everything was explained clearly. We were able to be discharged home rather than be admitted to a hospital. Since this is a stand alone ER, if you need to be admitted, you will have to go to another location. Had we been admitted, the staff here was going to call around and ensure we went directly to a hospital with open beds, rather than run around on our own. Overall, very satisfied with the care we received here but hopefully we won't be going back soon. read more

Took his sweet time (when NO ONE was in the ER) and when he finally came in, he pressured me to continue talking about other matters that I repeatedly told him I did not want to talk about. He proceeded to get an attitude, even snarfed at me, then held my head back while he shoved a piece up my nose without any regard to me telling him "ow! That hurts" and trying to pull away. The RUDEST doctor I have EVER dealt with. Will NEVER go back and would NEVER recommend him as a Dr. If he moves and goes to another urgent care, I would highly encourage you to look anywhere BUT where he is. The nurse, however, was kind. Look, I don't leave bad reviews on yelp like this but this was just embarrassing and not something anyone should experience while trying to get medical care. It's not necessarily the issue itself but the overall meaning behind it & societal acceptance of this kind of malpractice is super problematic. Awful visit, typical mansplaining by a old school traditional doctor, incredibly disappointed but not surprised. Dr.Avner said that I had eczema and anxiety. He said my lungs look great and I'm breathing fine! lol. Today I have confirmed covid-19 and difficulties breathing due to my previous conditions (that I had already previously mentioned, that make me a poor candidate for fast covid recovery), along with an allergic reaction of which the doctor said I was not having. Funny part is that I asked for a covid test and they denied me of one, saying they would only administer one if I were having symptoms and would be admitted to the hospital for them. Anyway, I do not have eczema and anxiety. I mean, I have anxiety but my difficulty breathing was and is currently due to covid-19 complications. Seriously tired of these white male boomer doctors not listening to young people, women, and people of color. The passion for medicine and giving back to the community is inadequate. Catch yourself when you start to notice that your patient is struggling to desperately advocate for themselves. Especially in ER medicine! Staff here seems to not want to work. We were 1 of 2 patients here and staff acted like they were full. Brought my son here because he wasn't feeling well. They were going to run a strep test but they were taking forever to come back. I needed to use the bathroom and stepped outside the room, 20 minutes after the doctor left the room. What I saw was all of the staff, including the doctor standing around and talking among themselves. They were caught off guard and pretended to work. I would suggest avoiding this place if you want quality service. But if you like wasting time without a happy ending, then this might be the perfect place to be for you. read more

I'm a registered nurse and I came here for really low potassium (2.7) and uncontrollable diarrhea on top of the inability to put fluids or food on my stomach. These people that work here are downright dangerous and I would under no circumstances recommend them. A physician should know if their patient is unable to take in electrolytes and fluids with a potassium that low it is a LIABILITY on their part if they discharge that patient without sufficient potassium replacement, and at that stage you need IV on top of oral replacement which is going to take a few hours and several rounds of replacement. I GOT ONE POTASSIUM PILL AND A BAG OF NS AND WAS DISCHARGED. I hope the chief compliance or medical safety officer reads this review because this isn't just a "unsatisfactory experience"- this is downright dangerous. The doctor acted like he didn't even want to be their and would go silent or pause unnecessarily long whenever I would question his judgements. The nurse was even worse- she stayed on her phone at the station 80 percent of the time and took every question I had against the doctor as noncompliance and even accused me of being verbally aggressive with her which I was in fact not, like I get how hard her job is but don't accuse me of being aggressive just because on calling you out on safety matters and it makes you fee uncomfortable. But IM SORRY IF MY POTASSIUM IS LOW ENOUGH TO TRIGGER CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS AND I CANT TAKE IN FLUIDS, AND THE DOCTIR IS GASLIGHTING ME DESPITE HAVING AMPLE EVIDENCE THAT IM NOT SUPPOSE TO BE DISCHARGED YET. I was there for roughly an hour and a half. Know want happened next? He told me to follow up with my primary in 48 hours ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON. Guess what I did that Sunday afternoon instead? I went back to the Emergency Room at Denver Health (where I was practically treated like royalty btw) with an EVEN LOWER potassium level and spent 4.5 hours getting two bags of LR's, one bag of IV potassium, and 4 oral replacement supplements LIKE DOCTORS ARE SUPPOSE TO ORDER. Also, I went on my insurance page to look up deductibles and you know what they billed my insurance company for one hour or stay with some simple CDC, BMP lab work, a potassium pill and a bag of NS? 7500 dollars. They didn't even fix the problem. I had to go to Denver Health two days later for them to fix the problem. I'm very familiar with cost of service in healthcare and 7500 dollars is a straight robbery. Denver Health billed my same insurance companies (after having done every service previously and them some) for $1700. Screw this place. It's unsafe, the people there treated me like s***, and I will not be back. read more

The staff was great, the care and almost no wait cannot be beat. However, the problem comes on the billing side. As I sit on hold waiting to talk to a supervisor, I just Googled: "UC Health Bill", which led to many similar stories (look at yelp for other locations). My daughter had an ear infection and the doctor said: "well it looks viral, but I can write a prescription just in case, but I recommend you just wait it out." In in out in no time, but then received a $1,500 bill, the vast majority of which our insurance did not pay (they were considered in network). That left a very large balance for us. In contrast, my other daughter was in an accident about a month later and we took her to a real Hostpital. She was admitted and spent about 18 hours there. After insurance and all, the bill is less for that event. I would avoid at all costs and wish I had read reviews before going in... read more

The nurses there were great. My entire vist took less than ten minutes. And that is all the positive things I can say about this place. I slipped and fell on ice about two weeks before Christmas. I went to this place because my arm was injured from the fall I had. I didn't expect miracles to happen, but I did expect that the "doctor" would care enough to actually listen to my complaint. This "doctor" squeezed my arm a couple times and I guess since I didn't scream out in pain (it didn't hurt to touch.. it hurt to move and I could only lift it a small distance, but hey if they "doctor" had listened he would have known that) he decided that it was a muscle strain. Take ibuprofen and you'll be fine in a couple days. It's been over a month and my arm is still messed up. By the way, when your "doctors" start dictating their reports in the next room they might want to close the door. He went on about how I said I had fallen on my right side but was complaining about pain in my left. I clearly stated to him, the nurse, and the front desk that I had fallen on my back and don't remember hitting my arm. A bit of a difference there. I hadn't planned on writing a review, but getting a notice from health insurance I have not had in over a year yesterday that this place was billing them for my visit was the last straw. When I went in I told them I didn't have insurance since the insurance from my job hadn't kicked in yet. As I was leaving and they were handing me stuff I said the same thing. They told me not to worry about it that they would send me the bill. Now I get to deal with the mess of calling the insurance that I didn't have when I went in, and specified that I did not have to fix this. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went because my nose was gushing blood. Service is friendly enough, they get me in to the doctor after I fill out some paperwork. They see that there is some irritation in my nose. The doctor literally said they could put some chemical cauterizer on it "if I want". They explained that they dont have the tools needed to do anything else and if it continued to bleed to go to a better emergency room. I agree to have them cauterize the wound. They put some gunk in my nose and charge me 250 dollars for my trouble. I find that reasonable, even though that same night my nose starts bleeding again. I couldn't really afford to go back to the doctor so i just let it kinda go away after a coupla days. Crappy experience, doctors cant always fix everything, right? Fast forward to a coupla weeks and I get an invoice from Cigna that I owed 1300 dollars!!!!! 650 to see the doctor, 650 for the procedure!!!!! This was on TOP of the 250 i paid for the visit!!! I really hate that I had to go here, as going to the Emergency room isn't ever somewhere you go for 'fun'. I had watched them getting this place open and ready over the months on my drive home from work every day. I live really close, so when I was hit with some type of flu... bad.... I came here on a late Wednesday night. Good thing too, because I was pretty sick and very contagious, which is good to know with a 6 week old baby at home. The service was friendly... super friendly and attentive. There were only two other patients there but I was taken to may 'room' and made sure I felt comfortable. I was able to relax ( as much as one could when sick) and wait for my test results ... In and out relatively quick. A few weeks after my visit I got a get well card sent from the staff. As much as I hope I don't NEED to go to them again... I will when given the choice/need. Keep up the good work. read more

I searched for "Urgent Care" on Yelp and this facility is the first place that appeared because they are using those keywords to place ads. Let's be clear - this IS NOT AN URGENT CARE. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LIFE THREATENING INJURY, broken bone, suspected heart attack, etc. It is an ER (even though it is not attached to a hospital), and there is a big difference. The bill will prove that to you. I took my 2 year old in for a strep test, having no idea that I'd be served with hospital style bills - we now owe almost $2000 between the facility charge, quick strep culture AND the separate doctor bill. That is AFTER insurance for a visit that took all of $25 minutes. At no time was I presented with an estimate of the potential fee or shown a rate list. I gave a $250 deposit on my credit card when I checked in and was told that many get that refunded after insurance is processed. When I asked how much it was going to cost, they told me they wouldn't know until AFTER my son had been treated. At which point, it is clearly too late. Life threatening issue? Sure, this is the place if you don't want to go to a hospital. Otherwise, make sure that you visit an Urgent Care facility instead. I will never make this mistake again and hope I'll prevent some others out there from doing the same. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!!! Made a grave error and went to this ER for lacerated fingers. Paid their bill in full immediately! Month later they sent me another bill for exactly the same thing wanting more money. Told them to piss off! Three weeks later, they send me yet another bill for the exact same amount I already paid. Complete idiotic, childish morons. Trying to steal money and bill for services they did not provide. read more

I came here as it was the closest to the house. Bleeding a lot from a pocket knife wound in my arm. The staff was fine and the doctor did a good job. My complaint is that I was quoted "around eight hundred dollars", their words. But was billed and paid over $1300.00. And on top of that was sent a bill for $600.00 from the University of Colorado for the doctor. Was explained that if a doctor that worked for UCHealth had seen me there would not have been an additional charge. Nothing was ever discussed with me. So shady. read more
