She had fallen and they thought she had fractured her right elbow. After she was sent to the ER, her provider called the ER twice (first speaking to triage nurse, Sarah, and then to her nurse, Mina) to tell them that my mom has advancing dementia, so she does not have the capacity to give consent. She also told them to contact me before they did anything because I am her POA and health care proxy. During that afternoon I received numerous MyChart notifications for tests being done. For the first few hours they were x-rays, but then it changed to blood tests, ekg, and a chest x-ray. After I got out of work my husband and I went to the ER and it is a good thing that we did. When we walked into my mom's room Dr. Guizano was telling my mom that she was being admitted for surgery. I said no she is not. The ER was explicitly told to get her elbow stabilized and send her back. He said ok and walked out of the room. In his notes he wrote family is "aware of risk-benefit". At no time did he have a conversation with us regarding this. Dr. Howell in his notes stated that "patient verbalizes understanding" in consenting to x-rays and an ecg. She does not have the capacity to understand or consent to anything. At no time during this day was I called or consulted regarding her treatment. My mom is extremely frail and has bad reactions to anesthesia. The risk of surgery is too great. Had I not got there when I did, there is a good chance she would not have made it through the surgery. It is appalling that this took place. Protocol was not followed. The elderly rely on others to look out for their needs. This was not done in this case. I will be looking into what options we have.

I have been to this facility lately few times due to relative requiring emergency care. Wait time in emergency area was very stressful but once in rooms things became very quiet and peaceful. My first doctor never directly answered my questions, rarely did blood work, and and believed my ailments (arthritis, bipolar 1, anxiety, etc.) were due to not taking care of my body in a beauty regimen way. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer out of her as well. Luckily she left soon after and I used walk-ins for some time for medical help. I tried them again with a new doctor, Dr. Andrea Hsue. During my very first visit she asked me if I was Christian. I said no and she said "That's okay.", and proceeded to lay her hands on me and pray aloud for several minutes. While that was weird and uncalled for she also helped me with medications and finding specialists. However each visit included a hands on prayer session which I asked her not to do but she did anyhow. I was with her for nearly two years and she became sullen, quick to anger, and argumentative. My last visit with her we were discussing the fact that I have a glass of wine while preparing dinner and a glass during dinner. She YELLED that I was a heavy drinker, closed her laptop, opened the door and I said "We didn't finish talking about my blood pressure yet." (as she is moving out into the hallway). Her reply, from in front of the nurses station, in front of nurses, doctors, and patients was, "That's probably because you drink to much, too!". So. Fuck Riverside Medical. They have a lousy front staff, too. I forgot to mention that when I was there this week for a pre-op checkup they did not know why I was there, what the surgeon needed, what my surgery was for and needed to call the surgeon's office to figure it all out. I have since found another doctor.

One from the NP And one from the Doctor they are under..when I called they said some of their Doctors charge this, you have to ask if they do.. I never knew this and it should of been disclosed . I DONT TRUST GUTHRIE LOURDES AT ALL ANYMORE !!
