Received a phone call from Ulta on Krocks road canceling my make up appointment for my daughter's wedding 45 minutes before my appointment and I only had three hours to find somebody else to do my make up. This caused enormous stress and running around and ended up being late for my daughter's wedding. called Customer Service because Krocks rd never even suggested anything or where to go. I did get a call from the district manager, and they gave me some reimbursement back of what I paid for at a different Ulta who ended up doing my makeup, but not the entire amount. I feel with all of that unnecessary running around and stress and inconvenience the little bit that they gave me on a gift card is laughable especially on such an important day as your daughter getting married. This is a warning two people. If you book any kind of hair or makeup appointment with this location of Ulta, be prepared to have a backup because they don't give a shit. you will never see me in another Ulta store ever and this is a warning for you go to Sephora. read more

This is the ulta on Krocks Rd. Went there 12/28 to get my roots done and to have my hair dyed BLONDE. I showed the "master" stylist that I had my hair done previously and I really didn't like bc it was too pale rather than blonde and place I went didn't use the same color bc they didn't have it. I wanted to be sure place I went to would keep a record and have the color. I had gone to ulta before had my hair lifted and dyed twice and loved it. When the stylist put on the bleach I said to her I think it looks like it's not covered I think it needs a little more and she said no you just have to put it on strands it didn't look right to me. I have been getting my hair dyed for at least 40 years. After 30 minutes she had to come back and put more on because she said it dries and then it doesn't absorb anymore. My thought was like I said in the beginning she didn't put enough on. So I picked out a color which was difficult because the examples aren't really what the hair looks like after. I tried to pick a color that was close to what I wanted plus she said I had to do my whole head. OK an up charge also the Ola Plex which I really didn't care for and another up charge. when it's time to put the color (she use the toner) she said I'm gonna try this other one (#10 or #eight) if it's too light then I'll do it warmer, she kept saying I said I don't know what warmer means. I want blonde I had showed her a picture previously before she started I want blonde. I don't want pale I want blonde. she blows it out I said I don't like it it's still pale. She then uses the color/toner I first picked. another 30 minutes she put me under the dryer and says oh well it's really not absorbing bc your ends are to porous. she starts to dry it immed I don't like it, it just looks like a dark pale gray. I said I'm sorry I don't like it it's not what I asked for I want it blonde. she said well that's the color you picked I said I wanted blonde. i'm not the professional stylist. I wanted blonde I showed you a picture! you showed me examples and that was the closest example that you had to offer me, which was a toner. My hair was very pale and only the roots needed to be lifted and a blonde colr added is what I thought would be done. I trusted her bc she said she was doing it for a long time had her own business before. I was very upset and to the manager RACHEL then tried to talk me into "it looks blonde and if I go home and wash it and add some kind of whatever it it'll get blonder" "it only looks that color because it was pale before" I showed her pictures. I called my daughter bc I didn't want to pay for it it was terrible I wanted to cry never had I wanted to cry when someone dyed or cut my hair. I have a function New Year's Eve. I'm disgusted but this manager RACHEL continue to try to convince me that it was good that I had to pay for it but also after$150 would have to go home and do something to my hair to make it blonde. I called their company which is another person who told me they are going to send an email to the store and tell them (I'm in the store still) I wasn't happy with the service. I'm not happy now! My daughter went back to the stylus and said this is what my mother showed you ( the pic of blonde hair) this is not blonde this is pale gray and so the stylus for some reason said she was patient with me I believe. I was patient with her I was there 3 hrs. I'm a lay person I showed you what I want you're the stylus you're supposed to know how to get me that. I've had my hair dyed there I know that they have The ability to do it so. she told the manager to dismiss my charge. The manager RACHEL didn't want to but reluctantly did and told me that Ulta would be reaching out to me. I'm waiting! I tried to reach out to Ulta but they also don't have people that you can talk to to resolve an issue in present time. I would never go there again not because of the stylist because of the manager Rachel to tell me in her professional opinion (are you a stylist?) it was my hair that was problem and should go home and do additional process to it, that's crazy after $150? The manager tells my daughter it's like going into a restaurant to eat the food and then saying you don't like it. when you go into a restaurant you order food you taste it you don't like it they take it back and they comp you if course nothing if you ate the whole plate! Roll the dice on whether you get the 25% of staff who are helpful and friendly, and the other 75% who treat you like a thief who came in to drag their butt across the carpet. I have hearing issues and I generally try to wave away help because it's too difficult to explain and the interaction is usually embarrassing for me. I guess this makes some staff think I'm there to steal, so they glare and hover and generally make me feel worse. Then, sometimes if I don't feel like giving my phone number, I have to run a gauntlet of more glares and arguments from the cashier. They just don't take no for an answer. One interaction was so bad I had to call over a manager because the staff member refused to ring me up without a phone number. I did point out that's illegal (because it is!) and the manager suggested I give them a friend or family member's phone number instead. Which sounds even more illegal. If management didn't lean so hard on the employees to drag a phone number out of people, and if some of the staff remembered that they're retails employees in a strip mall beauty store and kept the attitude in check, the store itself would get a higher rating. read more

Had 10AM hair appointment, store opens at 10. Walked back to salon, nobody around. Three employees were up front talking amongst themselves, apparently too busy to acknowledge me. Waited 15 minutes, still no hairdresser or acknowledgement from anyone. Walked to front to inquire if anyone was going to help me, she could not have cared less. Finally, 20 minutes late, hairdresser walked in. I could tell immediately she had an attitude. Was looking forward to getting advice about color options...she literally stood and stared at me...her bad attitude was so pervasive I felt like a child being punished. Didn't want to reschedule so she did my color and cut. Not really the color I wanted because she was too bothered to discuss it with me beforehand. Cut okay but not good enough to ever return here. I have went to the Ulta Salon at the crossings I believe 5 times. The first time I went, I chose Darlene (because she was the one with the most experience - but also her prices were more) she kept adding stuff and by the time I was done I paid over $200.00 for a highlighting & haircut. I liked my cut and color so I went back. The 2nd time, I went from long to short hair and again, Darlene did a GREAT job but it cost me over $80.00...for a HAIRCUT only. The 3rd time, I did not have an appointment, I walked in. I just wanted to get my short cut trimmed up. I ended up with Darlene again and unlike the last time...I did not like what she (Darlene) did the 3rd time. I felt like she squeezed me in, but that she was "rushing" and my cut was uneven and didn't lay right. It cost me $60.00...for a trim. I told my husband that I was not going to go back there. It was too much to pay for a cut/color that I wasn't happy with. He either didn't hear me, or he forgot. For Valentine's Day he bought me an Ulta gift card. I walked in today and specifically told the clerk that I did not want Darlene, but apparently she was the only one available. I wanted highlights put in but I wanted to stay under or at least not go over my $100 gift card. She told me what she could do for $100, then she added that I would also need a "glazing" which was $30.00 extra. I agreed to that. While she was doing my hair, she had another client come back. She was basically doing us both at the same time. I felt like she was rushing, she was getting bleach all over the place and me. Then the other client and I were put in the back room while she started on another client (3)...and then another (4)...she was doing 4 of us at once!!! She was rushing so much that when she was rinsing the bleach off my hair she literally sprayed me IN THE FACE!!!! She made light of it. Then when I was sitting there waiting for her I could feel water (or whatever was dripping off my head) running down my shirt (because she didn't have a towel around my neck between the cape and my clothing). The way she styled my hair was rushed and ugly. It looked all frizzy...and just ugly. The color came out ok with the exception of the back. It looks like there were globs of bleach at certain spots and for what I paid...I am not happy...not happy at all... and I will not go back. read more

I would have to agree with some of the other customers. Only a hand full of the many many employees on the floor are customer service friendly and helpful. There are two or three, that's it! The others are gathered in groups talking amongst themselves or hanging with their friends. You have to break up the clique and they don't like it. Some of the employees are down right rude! I think poor management is the culprit. I'm in thee quite a lot because it's local for me. I simply don't put up with it. I ask for service and if I get attitude I complain. Management is very young like the rest of the employees. They do not respect her and she can not handle them. Hire mature women! read more

I had planned to get my hair cut and colored here, and as many know, it can be difficult to plan "me" time. I was able to to clear some time 3 weeks earlier than expected, so I scheduled my appt. I did not cancel the other one because the app on my phone did not give the option. Plus, I knew if I had to cancel the earlier one, I would still have an appt scheduled. Apparently, Theresa called to see which appt I wanted to keep. I was not home, and my husband relayed the message. I figured that since I just scheduled the earlier appt, it would be obvious that is the appt I want. I also thought I might use the second appt for my daughter, so I left it. I was going to talk to her the day I went about my daughter and if she could do what my daughter wanted, I would use the appt for her. Anyway, I got there during the much needed "me" time, bought new makeup, got my brows done, and made my way back for my appt. turns out she canceled my appt. she didn't even call to tell me she was an cancelling it. I checked my messages when I went home. She wouldn't even figure out a way to make it work for me. Needless to say, I walked out in tears. I will never go back. I got my hair done somewhere else, and I love it, so I will continue to go to the other place. I have never felt so humiliated as I was when she turned me away. It ruined that whole day. I had puffy eyes from crying and couldn't even do the shopping I had planned. I had just dealt with a husband who had a heart attack and a father going through heart failure.
