I'm Afro Latina and I don't plan to shop at this location ever again been here twice same experience. They followed me around making different employees observe me aisle by aisle acting like they where just walking around but it was obvious they were watching me to see if I stole anything , im not sure if this is common practice here for certain customers only , its very sad that discrimination and racism continues to thrive in Corpus Christi and the fact that the employees are okay with being told to follow certain people only is dehumanizing! read more

Usually I have no problems finding what I need. On this particular trip, I had trouble finding something. I decided to leave without it and just check out with what I had. The lady at the register asked if I found what I needed and I said I hadn't and I was trying to find specific hair clips. She said "did you look over there?" (Pointing across the room). I told her "I did look over there in the aisle I thought it would be but didn't see it unless I overlooked it". She responded with "oh okay".... That was that I guess. I went in there today and watched an Ulta employee come put of the bathroom. When I went to the bathroom there was NO soap in the dispenser or any bottles of soap on the counter! Oh how I love makeup! ULTA is like a make up lovers dream! They have both drug store and high end make up selections available, and the best part is that you can touch, swatch and smell almost any product in the store before you buy it! I love that you can color match and make sure you leave with the right color or shade, and if you happen to take it home and it's the wrong color- they have an excellent return policy. The customer service is friendly and there is always someone there to assist with products. I can wander around the store and look at all the new make up releases, but my wallet can't handle it! read more

I love ulta but this location is so dysfunctional. The line is always extremely long with ONE cashier even now with the holiday rush.

My first complaint is that the staff knows nothing! As a makeup guru, I come in here plenty of times a month and have the Ulta Rewards Master card. I've given up on asking for help on fountains color matching because in the past I've been completely mismatched, so I help myself. Second complaint is that the points program is nothing but a game. It's so confusing not only to me but 2 of the employees couldnt even explain it properly. This will be the last time I try to gain points for free products. Currently paying off my card and using my points at Ulta and that will be it! Third off, the store has a very high lack of product in stock. I was told shipments come on Thursdays but still not on shelves to purchase on Friday. I pick a color or shadow palette, then figure out that their aren't any to to purchase. Bummer! The website even has said its in stock and nope. Fourthly, the store is dirty and the samples are either completely out to try or its a messy situation to even try to try on. I'd rather buy the product and if I don't like it, I'll return it. Which I'm assuming costs them more money. And lastly, the staff is completely rude. I was doing some ordering online (since they were out of stock in the store that day) and called the store at 8:53 and when they answered, I let her know I just had a quick question about purchasing product online with my points and she hung up on me. Wish I could have gotten her name. I called back and was able to ask my question, to only receive a quick yes answer, then she hung up. So, here I am writing a review about my entire experiences at this Ulta location. I've been to the one in San Antonio off TPC and 281 and they are so friendly and chatty, and helpful. I was visiting family and decided to stop in the local Ulta to pick up some shampoo. The store is beautiful and bright like you would expect to find any ulta. I was disappointed in the lack of staff or their willingness to help customers find what they needed and answer questions. They also didn't have much selection in the matrix products i was looking for. The person i did ask a question about the new redken magnetics shampoo for color enhancing had no idea how to answer my question. That's ok i don't expect everyone to know everything, but ask someone, make an effort to find out. She sent me to the hairstylist in the back who was busy highlighting a client. I felt rude talking to her while she was helping someone else. She answered my question but failed to mention what i discovered by Googleing for more info. The magnetics didn't mention anything about protection from uv rays. I spend a lot of time outside so this is important to me. I like ulta but i think they need to train their staff better and give them the resources they need to answer questions for customers and SELL them more products!! I'm a bricks and mortar loyalist so please work harder to start strong and defeat AMAZON!! read more

Ulta is normally my favorite place to shop for make up so while in Corpus i decided to stop by. When i walked in nobody acknowledged me and all the workers were off to the side chatting about something else. Everything i wanted to buy did not have a tester! 5 different products didn't have a tester and the ones that did were all gross, dirty, or empty. Not only were testers empty, but they didn't have anything in stock for me to jusy grab and go i had to interrupt the ladies to ask for the products i wanted. This Ulta is a shame! read more

Went to purchase Too Faced glitter glue after checking to see they finally had it in stock online. Got there and had to wait 20+ minutes for a store employee to actually talk to me only to find out that they must have "inventory variance, sorry." That's when she about-faced and walked off. The makeup side of the store looked like a tornado ran through it, so unsure if it *is* an inventory variance issue or they just can't keep their product straight and sorted. Was going to also buy some nail care products, but the line was 10 customers deep and only one cashier. I have noticed several times I have gone in there and I've walked around looking at the cosmetics really kind of needing advice and some of the girls there never once ask if I need help yet they ask everybody else that comes in the door when you can obviously see I need assistance. .. I love that this place carries hard to find brands in this town (like Tarte, Urban Decay, etc.) pretty good selection. One of the girls working the floor was nice and helpful, but the cashier was snotty and ignored me when I asked for more info and if she had anything I could read about the rewards program she brought up. Could've at least told me to check it out on the website like I did when I left. Just got a blank stare and my change. As others have said it does seem they could keep the store stocked better, especially during the Christmas rush. This review is a few days coming as my "service" (and I use that term VERY loosely no pun intended [you'll discover why I say this later in this review]) occurred mid last week. Nonetheless, here's my review: PROS: 1) Cold water while I waited. 2) Decent selection of magazines. 3) Conveniently located near my place of employment. CONS: Ugh! Where do I start?! Here goes... I made an appointment to have a LOOSE perm performed. My hair is shoulder length and pretty fine overall. The "stylist" (again, used LOOSELY) seemed unsure of her consultation with me regarding this service but did respond. The question that I had was whether or not a loose perm would hold in my rather fine hair. She assured me over and over again that it would and to not worry. While I was waiting on the perm to develop in my hair, I remembered that pink rollers are for TIGHT perms! I immediately got the attention of my "stylist" and asked her about this and again, she assured me the pink ones were for loose curls. After about an hour and a 1/2 of sitting there while she gossiped with other stylists in the salon, she finally came to me; removed the pink rollers, and proceeded to rinse the solution from my hair. During the rinsing, I here her UNDER HER BREATH mumble "oh s**t". Panicked, I looked at her and asked if everything was okay. She immediately got me up from the sink and RAN to the salon manager. The manager sat me in front of the mirror and explained that the perm solution was left on too long! My hair was literally the consistency of BUBBLE GUM! I went off! I informed them that I would be consulting legal counsel to SUE them and put them out of business! The manager told me that (get this) would need to consult with her district manager! Uh sweety I think not! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE UNLESS YOU ENJOY SPORTING AROUND BUBBLE GUM CLOWN HAIR! read more

Customer service was not there. I walked in, one person acknowledged me and when I started asking questions. She looked a little annoyed. Then she recommend an item on the other side of the store, and I had to go find it. She didn't show me where or what she was talking about. When I found the aisle there was another lady stocking the aisle, she saw me, didn't move her little cart, didn't acknowledge me, I had to exit the aisle and go around to the other side just to get at what I was looking for because she didn't move. I scheduled an appointment for a haircut at the Salon, two weeks out, for Tammi; it was then transferred as she was sick (the day of) to Carissa M. who was AWESOME. She was super busy already, but totally went the extra mile to help out. She did an amazing job matching my desired hair style/cut, without pushing high-end products on me. Also, she did something strange--she dried my hair BEFORE cutting my bangs which was the best idea as it prevents oddly short bangs once dried. I got my hair cut awhile back and I loved it. I don't remember the girls name that cut my hair but she was awesome and knew what I was looking for in the style I was talking about. The only downside was that I had to wait about an hour after my scheduled appointment time because she had an earlier appointment run late. I came here to get my hair done for my daughter's Quinceañera. I wanted to look nice for all of the family photos so I thought I would come to a professional salon instead of the small ones around Corpus. I made an appointment to get a caramel color in my hair. I didn't realize how expensive it would be until I got there. $150 just for some color! However I was already there and ready to have my hair done so I went through with it. I brought a picture of the hair color I wanted and my stylist Tammy told me "Oh that's a platinum, it will take a lot of bleach to get that". The picture I showed her was NOT platinum....at all! I was scared for her to do that so I showed her a picture of my second choice which was a very dark golden brown. She says "okay, so you want an ashy color?" Uh....no! I think that woman was legitimately color-blind. Eventually I just asked her to show me the book of colors they had so I could pick one out. I picked a rich brown. The entire time she seemed to not pay too much attention to what she was doing with my hair. It made me really nervous. I told her how much this hair color meant to me and my daughter for the Quinceañera but she didn't seem to care. She was chewing gum and gossiping with the other girl, definitely not giving me $150 worth of service!! When she was done with the color, it is NOT what i picked out. She had a BOOK of COLOR samples. I picked one out and literally ALL she had to do was put that exact color on my head. The color on my head right now is almost green! It looks mossy and has yellow tints. My daughter is so upset that her mom looks like some sort of sea monster!!! Don't go here or if you do, make sure you don't get Tammy. I don't know if the other girls are better or not. read more

There was no awkward silences, she did exactly what I was looking for and also cut me a deal at the end for being a new customer.
