Nikki was by far the best beautician I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Years I have tried to find someone to provide a quality haircut and always been very disappointed until I met Nikki. Trying to find a salon near me that was open late on weekdays, I found Ulta Salon in Delray! I read the Yelp reviews and since they were all positive, I made an appointment online. It gave me the option to make an appointment until 11pm two days from then (Wow!) so I took a 7pm slot with "Anyone". About an hour before my appointment, someone called asking me to come in early because she didn't think she was able to do a good job on my hair in two hours. I explained that I worked until 6pm and she kind of sighed and asked if I really needed my hair blow-dried after the color and that she could skip that so she could be out at 9pm when they closed. I was immediately turned off and canceled my appointment. In any job I've ever worked at, we've always stayed late to get the job done right. I don't think I'll try to make an appointment again. Sounds like a "hit or miss" type of place. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE! I just moved here from MD and wanted to lighten my hair. I attempted to fix it myself which didn't go as well as I would have liked. I didn't know anyone so I figured I could trust Ulta would do an easy simple fix. (I'm blonde and I just wanted to lighten the top and tone). The woman told me it would be around 175-200. I have a lot of hair so I figured that made sense. Throughout the whole process I was so anxious and terrified that the woman was not getting what I wanted, I showed pictures and everything. She told me "I don't even care if you don't like it, I love it" when she showed me my hair it literally looking no different than what it did before, with the smallest bit lighter on the ends. Up by my roots was yellow not blonde. I wanted a cold blonde. It went from super warm to cold and looked like my little sister could have done a better job. Then she gives me the receipt... 355. ARE YOU JOKING?! The store was closed at this point and I had been there shortly after it opened. I said wait a second how did it go from roughly 200 to 355?! The woman goes - what did you expect you were my only client all day? This happened the second week of March and my issue is still not resolved. I understand the virus but I can promise I will never go to another Ulta Salon. So upset and disappointed. Save your money!!! read more

The employees here are straight up rude. On two different occasions I have left this store extremely uncomfortable or upset. One of the times I came in and was looking for something specific. When the lady brought me to the product she recommended, she was forcing it on me. I said thank you, I will hold onto it and look around. She goes "there is no reason to look around, that's the best you will find here." It was a loose powder... there is 100's of other options but ok. So as im looking around I stumbled back into the one working talking to another one saying that my makeup looked bad, etc yet I explained to her that I was using makeup I haven't worn in years because I had to throw away all of my good stuff due to a skin condition. As if I wasn't already upset! & she knew I heard her so she started word vomiting "We were saying you are pretty!" No you weren't lol. But the other time they accused me of stealing because I put back the product they recommended me. Long story short, if you don't take their recommendations they will be extremely rude and nasty. I've been to so many salons, all of them more expensive (some much more!) since I've moved to FL, searching for a hairstylist who's great at blowouts, and I'm thrilled to say that Michelle puts all of them to shame. I agree with Gianna R.'s about the help they were stand off-ish even though I spent over 25 minutes looking at one section of beauty products, I never received any request to be helped. But, I do also agree with Rachel M. regarding the layout, the store is clean, easy to peruse and things were easy to find--but prices were not that great and not easy to find. Some of the perfume prices were not visible, and since no one wanted to help us we eventually left. I will probably go back to buying my products online since we visited and had no interaction with Ulta employees (besides getting a glare as my nephew washed some peach lotion from a tester off his hands in the sink.) read more

Stay away from the hair salon especially Morgan. She butchered my hair. It was really unbelievable that she cut wispy bangs to a head full of bangs that went to the back of my head. I complained and eventually the 'manager' called with an attitude, and offered to fix the haircut at no charge? Oh please, it couldn't be fixed, there was no way to make it continuous without cutting my long hair really short. I went through 3 months of real horror trying to do something with it....and the manager's resolution was that she would fix it? Ulta: time to start training the staff in the salon The products they sell on the other hand are the best I've seen anywhere and I buy a lot of them. read more

Came in here looking to buy a friend some perfume they have a nice set up of perfume where you can smell a lot I'd them. One of clerks their was very helpful in helping me find the perfect perfume for my friend and gave many suggestions to choose from. On a whim I decided to try the signature blow out and randomly picked Michelle as my stylist. Couldn't have been more pleased! She was so sweet and explained everything that she used on my hair and why - very helpful and knowledgeable. I have pretty ringlets but wanted something softer, sleeker for a black tie event. Michelle did an AMAZING job, especially since I gave her little to no direction. I got so many compliments and the style lasted for days - even made it through a round of 18 holes without so much as a single frizzy hair! My style never lasts that long (and I get blow outs frequently at other pricier places in Delray). Will definitely be going back! My fiance and I were getting our engagement pictures done yesterday and I wanted my hair and makeup to look flawless. Needless to say that Eric and Christina at Ulta in Delray did just that. I showed Eric a picture of how I wanted my hair, and he matched it to perfection. After that, Christina did my makeup. She asked my generally what products I used, showed me some of her new favorites that she thought would work well, and created magic. Had a wedding yesterday and had a French braid and my makeup done by Cara. What a wonderful experience! She is young but asked me the right questions and the results were beautiful! Makeup was done to perfection, natural yet good for 1pm ceremony and then 5pm reception! I am very picky and could find nothing wrong with my hair or makeup! Was suggested by a friend to visit the benefit brow bar at this location. My friend and I were very excited to find a new eyebrow place. Made our way over there , stood there for about 10 minutes without being helped. Finally a woman came over and I asked if there was someone there to do eyebrows, she said yes let me grab her. I waited over there while she called for the girl that does eyebrows, Cassandra, to come over there. The woman that was originally helping us tells Cassandra that there are people there for her to do and her response was "ugh are they here right now?" In the rudest tone imaginable right in front of us. Really? We felt so awkward and unwelcome. Needless to say we put all the stuff we were going to buy down and walked out. Never again. read more

While I was getting my hair dyed, I asked my colorist for recommendations of what products I should be using to prolong the color and keep it vibrant. He mentioned a few that he personally likes, then suggested I stop by Ulta if I needed further assistance. After comparing a ton of products online, I decided I might as well stop by since it's quicker to actually talk to someone and have them see your hair. The store itself is well kept and fully stocked. Unfortunately, it was near impossible to find an associate to help me. Normally I like being left alone to browse without having someone breathing down my neck, yet I appreciate being approached by a sales associate so I know I can ask for help at any time. The one time I'm actually actively seeking out help there's no one around (figures). There was only one associate on the floor and they were already helping someone. I walked through the store looking down every aisle hoping to find anyone that could help. I was about to just ask the cashier in the salon section, but she turned around and tried to look busy as soon as I caught her eye. Finally, someone walked by and nonchalantly asked if I needed any help. The entire time I was talking to her it felt like she had somewhere else to be, but at least she answered all of my questions albeit no new information was given. I'll probably only come here in the future to see if I like the smells of the products I'm considering, nothing more. read more

Confirmed my appt by text 2 days prior & then received a call from the "manager" the night before my appt. By the time I actually listened to my message I was told Liz was not there & Morgan would be happy to do my hair. I called trying to find out what happened. Spoke w/ Morgan who told me that she wasn't sure where Liz was but she wasn't on the books anymore. I had Liz's number so called her. She is now working at 102 Salon & Spa 3960 Hypoluxo Rd. Michelle in the salon is a 5++++. The cashiers at the front, however, often seem disinterested & bored, they average a 3 at best, which pulls down my overall rating. Anyway back to Michelle! I have very long blonde hair that I get single process & highlights on. She's sweet, kind, patient & a great colorist. I live in Boca but had such a terrible experience there at the Boca Ulta salon during a simple blowout that I drive another 25 minutes to come to this Ulta to see Michelle. Not only is she wonderful at her craft, she helps ALL the customers who wander the store that do not receive help from the front end of the store and then consequently wander to the back area where the salon is. Her fellow stylists seem ok, but Michelle is by far the friendliest, always going out of her way to answer product questions for customers. And she gives them fair, kind feedback & explains her reasons. I just adore her! It's not her job to be coloring, answering customer questions & advising her fellow stylists simultaneously when they inevitably need advice on how to do color in their client. She's not the manager. But she should be!! Attention Ulta corporate- if you are reading this, you'd better promote this young lady before someone snatches her up! She puts Janet, the manager in Boca, to shame. Let's just say Janet bad mouths her stylists except for who she likes, & who she likes smacked me in the eye repeatedly with my wet hair. I tried to calmly explain to Janet why the one stylist at Boca needs mentoring & she didn't even reply to me. That stylist had been annoyed by my long hair & was repeatedly rough to the point that I almost walked out during the blow dry. So since Janet had washed my hair & intro'ed herself to me that she was the salon mgr., I felt she should know how upset I was. She just looked at me like I was speaking a foriegn language. I would give this salon no stars if that were an option...I have or should I say had long hair and I needed a trim. Stopped in and asked for a trim and single process color, well I only wanted 1 inch cut off the back...what the hairdresser (butcher) did was chop off 8 inches!!! This was after leaving the dye on too long and making a mess everywhere!! I had black dye all over my face, neck, ears, shoulder and my shirt!! When I told Andrea that the dye had been on long enough she said it didn't matter how long t stayed on!! Sorry, but, uh NO....I was ready to wash out my hair myself when she finally did, than I sat in the chair explained how I wanted my hair trimmed and in one fell swoop she chopped off 8 inches!!! I lost my mind!! Another girl came over trying to fix it but, how do u fix a chop off?? Needless to say, I contacted Ulta's corporate office and NOTHING!!! UGH!!! So disgusted!!! read more

Horrible costumer service! Definitely not friendly. It's a shame because I love the location of this store as it's very close to my house. I've been to this store several times since they opened and I must say in the beginning the customer service was a little better but in the last 3 visits It was pretty bad. I cannot believe some of the people working there... Very rude.. Won't help you at all. I felt like I was begging them to shop there. They could care less if you need help finding a product. There is only one person there that is consistently normal/friendly and seems to care about customers. Im not sure what her name is but she is an older lady and she is always helpful. She is the only one there that seems to care... Anyways, I'm NEVER going back to this location! I'm definitely gonna go back to Sephora, Macy's or even CVS for my beauty products. Again..
