I had such a great experience at Ulta thanks to Aquellah and Danielle. I know it may sound silly to dread buying makeup, but I always feel overwhelmed and never know what to look for. They completely changed that for me. ulta guest services has been nothing but useless. They keep repeating the same thing over and over and I keep replying the same thing over and over. I came to this store to pick up and order, which by the way, is nonfunctional. I checked in that i was on my way, I parked in the designated parking spot that says "Curbside Pickup", and waited for 15 minutes until I finally went inside. I walked inside and there were 2 associates at the register standing and waiting for customers, they both came towards me when I approached the counter that says online pickup. So I know they weren't busy. But what has been really bothering me is how I had previously reached out to guest services to change my maiden name on my Ulta account and they told me I had to go in-store. This particular day since I was already inside, I asked the associates if they could help me change my last name on my account and they both told me I needed to call guest service to do that. So I have been calling, emailing, and texting about this and guest services keeps telling me I need to go in-store. Everyone has been so unhelpful. read more

I absolutely love this store! As a letter carrier with the USPS I am constantly fighting the weather. Hours in the cold or heat takes a toll on your skin, especially the face. Not sure what I needed for my sensitive skin I wandered in over 2 years ago. My goodness! You name it, they have it! They also have an excellent staff to help guide you to what you need for your skin type. I use the Dermalogica products. They are amazing! Also amazing is the reward program Ulta has. Handicap Sensitivity training needed at Ulta! I had a $40 gift certificate, from Christmas, I finally made myself take the time to go to the store on Woodruff Rd. to spend it and more! Super excited to browse through everything and decompress! I went to get a shopping bag and there was only hard plastic. I asked for a soft one and the Ulta employee said they did not have one. I asked if I could use a shopping bag. I am obviously handicapped; my cane, brace, and scars are clearly visible. The employee said no that someone could follow me around the store with a basket. I was there to browse so I didn't want someone following me around the store soooo I am then, in front of everyone, telling her I was handicapped, had a paralyzed foot, justifying why I couldn't run away with a shopping bag full of makeup...could they please accommodate. She said no and so did the manager. Unbelievable. I was so embarrassed I walked out of the store with my $40 gift card in tact and my opinion of ULTA not. This encounter has to be on tape. I challenge Ulta leadership to use it in training as how NOT to treat a handicapped person. read more

You better show up put together, or the associates will look past you like you're invisible. Today, I went to this location after working out to drop in to grab a refill of my favorite foundation, Too Faced Born This Way. The associate pretty much ignored me until a said "excuse me" at least 3 times before her acknowledged me. She wasn't helping another customer, but simply stocking the shelf. When I asked her for help with a shade match, and said I'd like to try on the foundation, she then pointed to the sample and said, "Is there not a sample bottle in the holder?" I honestly was floored that she wasn't willing to offer a shade match, or a redirect to a shade match specialist. I ended up having to shade match myself. Little does she know, I will occasionally drop in a drop a couple hundred on makeup. I may have looked like absolute $*** when I was there today, with no makeup or cute outfit, but I was there to buy a $40 foundation. I normally wear a full face of prestige makeup, and use nice skincare products as well. Kindness could've landed her some good commission (if they offer it there). Honestly, I feel like they discriminate based upon if you wear makeup or not, Remember associates: NOT EVERY WOMAN OR MAN WEARS MAKEUP. I went in with a $500 gift card. I went in with no make up on and my skin in pretty bad condition so I could find the perfect products. I've never left a store with money still on a gift card. I walked out spending $60. NO ONE would help me. It wasn't busy at all. I looked lost and confused and I would think my lack of make up would've made me a perfect customer to upsell products. I went in to get a haircut. I have bangs as well, and they needed a trim. If you have bangs and decide to get them trimmed, please make sure you have a stylist who knows what they're doing. Otherwise you end up looking like Lord Farquad. I learned the hard way. Even with a reference picture, he cut them WAY too short and completely BLUNT. He did not follow the way my bangs were growing and just SNIPPED them across. Like ?!!?!? DUDE ?! He didn't even check to see if they had been cut evenly, I went home and one side is noticeably shorter than the other. I'm so disappointed. I should've spoken up while I was there, but there's no point when your hair has already been chopped off. I look like a clown. 2/5 would not recommend. If only I had someone else do my hair. this is a nightmare. read more

Very disappointed on my order with Ulta. I am a Platinum reward member. No matter what I always seem to have trouble getting my rewards. At checkout - "Oh sorry, that was the wrong button-that happens a lot. I can't fix it for you. Maybe next time." OR- The website takes you all over the place with coupons that don't apply and when you get to the end...nothing is applied for the rewards. I chatted immediately online, they can't fix it from 1 minute ago. I said I wanted to cancel then as the experience feels terrible now. *the response from the Chat specialist -I can try but it might not actually cancel it. (What?!) I asked to speak to a manager. The response- I can't transfer the chat to a manager. But I can fill out a request for one to call you. (When?!) He doesn't know when they will call. I explain this is feeling like a scam. So I am on hold now with the customer service number from the website. The first prompt I chose was about existing orders. It was automated, confirmed my order. Wanna go back to menu? My daughter was wanting highlights. It was around 6pm on 2/15/2020. There was a girl with dark hair behind the register and one man styling a women's hair. Neither talked to me or made eye contact. Another person came up and asked her a question. She literally looked right past me, answered their question and put her head back down!!!! I finally asked what their salon hours were. She had no clue and asked the gentleman stylist and he didn't know. I finally got a half way answer that the salon was the same as the store hours. After that, she went back to looking at paperwork or whatever she was doing and continued to ignore me, not a "can I help you?" Or anything. There were entire shelves totally cleared out and several of the exact same worn down samples I remembered as being particularly gross from several weeks prior. Called on Thursday to make a brow waxing appointment for two people. Nothing available on that day so we chose to go on Friday. My daughter and I show up at 10:35 for our 10:45 appt, we planned for holiday traffic, etc. we get there and are promptly told that our appt is for Saturday. No! The person that wrote the appt wrote it in the wrong place. We planned our morning around that trip down Woodruff Road. The one person working took others that didn't have an appt after she told us that her co worker would be in at 11:00. It is now 11:31 and she is no where to be seen. Manager said "she is stuck in traffic, pulling In soon" we have already waited more than 45 minutes. We spend a lot of money there but we will not be back after this. Recently I received an ULTA promotional mailing that celebrated the Benefit line was now being carried...and I allowed a glimmer of hope to creep into my cold heart... Honestly there is nothing more that I hate than being forced to ask an associate at the Benefit counter in Belk for my necessary purchases (seriously, try lemon-aid with some high-brow...instant well-rested look and your eye shadow will adhere to those lids all day), but enough about my makeup preferences...I like to browse and put the products on my hands and just generally see if I think the product will end up unloved in the "uh-oh was a great idea in the store bag of shame"...so I was limiting the benefit purchases to Sephora or the necessary evil of Belk...although I *heart* free samples as much as the next girly-girl I don't need any more samples of the products that I just bought...(Hello Belk, if you're listening...can you give out something besides Eye-Con eye cream and Do It Daily moisturizer samples??) This whole browsing the product line and well kept product displays is where Sephora excels...I dare someone to find a goopy foundation sampler, busted eyeshadow sample pod, or a perfume tester with no perfume...Hey ULTA...if you want to pretend to be a nice store...maybe you should try some upkeep around the samples sometime...but I guess all your associates are too busy having conversations with each other to do their jobs...or to answer a customer's inquiry as to are they anticipating carrying/receiving the whole line or will you just carry limited items... I had to interrupt the ULTA "beauty professional" to ask just these questions...she was having an in-depth conversation with her coworker about her burger from Red Robin...seriously girls...Stop talking, answer my questions, and I know you probably don't use the cosmetics you sell, as evident by your overdone make-up jobs (and seriously, by looking at you...NO I DON'T EVER WANT YOUR ADVICE...YOU ARE ORANGE...) The store it self is fine, but the salon is horrible. I made an appointment online. I always take my son to salon's to et his hair cut since he is mixed. I received a call back in like an hour to confirm the appointment. The woman rudely continually expressed the price of the hair cut. It was on the website when I originally made the appointment. I explained I was aware and yes I understood the price. We arrived Sunday at 3:30 for our 3:45 appointment to be rudely greeted and she tried to tell me that the appointment was at 4:00pm instead. I re looked at my email and yes it was 3:45. Next we wait until 4:05 and proceed back only to have her look at my son with a complex look when I said how his hair is usually cut. She said "we don't do that here" and offered no alternative to what she could do. It almost felt as though she was scared to cut his hair because he was mixed. The way she picked up his curls and stated at them with discuss was very upsetting. I will NEVER suggest this salon to anyone!!! My son is only 5 yrs old. read more

I have been to a ton of Ulta stores in my lifetime and I can't quite understand why the Yelp reviews for this location are so poor. Every time I have been here the store has been very well stocked(which is a problem in a few of the South Florida locations) and the staff is very helpful. I always am greeted by employees as soon as I walk in and typically always get asked if I need any help. I was looking for a nice moisturizer in here recently and was surprised by how extremely helpful the store employee was. She took me around and let me try different ones and catered to all my questions and concerns. After choosing one that I liked she even gave me a few samples to try also which lasted me a couple weeks, leaving me quite pleased. Very nice store and very nice staff! read more

As expected during the holiday season there was a lot of store traffic! I went in to return a product and there was no issue at all. The staff was attentive and easy to work with. There were no questions asked during my return process With the exception of if I use the product or not. I went to Ulta today. This was the first time I have been there that an employee ACTUALLY helped me - I think. The reason I say I think is I bought the makeup they suggested and I haven't tried it yet. The people behind the desk were too busy socializing to greet the people coming in the front door. Also when I checked out they were OUT of the sample mascara that was a gift with purchase when the sale has been active for 7 days and still 2 weeks to go! The stylists are not there long term, so you are may never see the same one twice. Secondly, you can see a senior stylist for 6 months ($37 per cut) and find out they've been demoted to junior stylist ($27). No notice, no explanation. Last time I was there, my stylist was doing my hair, answering the phone and helping customers, because they were all alone in the back salon area. Makes it kind of hard for them to concentrate on what they are doing. I feel that Ulta sets the stylist up for failure. For the prices charged, I'd like just a little more privacy and pampering. read more

I love Ulta! Did you know you can trying to make up and sample perfumes? They have stations throughout the store where you can take off your lipstick or eyeshadow and put on some of the samples that they have. That way you can tell if you really do like the item or not. Just make sure you use the alcohol spray before and after you sample something. I looked online while I was in the store to compare prices with what I purchased and whether I could get the item somewhere less expensive. All in all, Ulta had a pretty good price. They have a rewards program. For every dollar you spend you get a point. When you reach 100, you receive three dollars off. They have coupons floating around, but those only apply to lower end products, not the designer brands. The only reason I gave it a four is because the samples and the display for them can get kind of nasty and dirty. I'm glad they had alcohol spray because I was not about to put some of that stuff up on my lips! Over in the more common cosmetic brands, the area that is not as upscale, it's a little bit dirtier. I think the staff probably puts most of their time and attention in keeping up the displays for the higher-end make up than they do the other section. I guess that makes sense, because there's more money to be made with the designer brands. The bathroom was not as clean as I had hoped. The door and walls around into it were dirty But all in all, I was pleased with the prices, and with the selection of designer brands of make up to choose from. read more
