Ulta is a store I often try to avoid, or else I'd spend unnecessary amounts of money. This store is super well-stocked and always clean and a nice experience. They have SO much stuff here, for every kind of beauty and skincare preference you could really want. Now, when they have sales or special deals it's a great time to visit, and that's usually what I do. Otherwise, things can be pretty pricey which is why I could never give 5 stars but it's still pretty close. I love that they also have a whole salon here too- not only can you buy your beauty products for at home, but you can get your hair or makeup done by a professional here if you really desire. I did one time for prom in high school and it was spendy but I was very happy with the final result. If you need hair stuff like shampoo or conditioner, temporary coloring, a flat iron or blow dryer, they got you. If you want nail polish or stick ons, they got you. If you want sugar scrub, good smelling lotion or body butter, sunscreen or body wash, yep they have it. You can find just about every type of makeup item or tool you could want in an array of colors and brands it's almost overwhelming. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what they have here. Why I went: Curly, dark brown hair. Already cut. Desire to have it colored lighter to a bronze. [full color] What happened: They didn't understand the request from online [their website does not transfer your answers apparently?]. They then did highlights of blonde. Both not the right color, nor full color. They talked in spanish to their coworkers about my hair, saying it's crazy to go from a brown to a blonde, implying it wouldn't look good. Again, I didn't want blonde, but I definitely didn't want to feel judged. In the end I got blonde and brown full color. Not the color I wanted, but it looks okay. Then, after saying I don't want it blowdried, they continued to pester me about it being blowdried so I say sure. Which took an extra hour and $20. It made my naturally curly hair look fabricated, almost like a tupee. Karen-esque. Washed it out as soon as I got home. Biggest waste of $250 I ever had. read more

I usually come to this ULTA I shop here a lot, and it's amazing but today was just bad. I'm not sure of the Cashier's name but she had a mole on her nose and black hair to where the shoulders are. After she finished putting my products in the bag she threw the bag towards my daughter and then said she was sorry? I'm not sure why there was an attitude when I treated her with respect and a smile and so did my daughter just for her to throw the bag towards where my daughter was and then picked it up and continued to say sorry like she didn't do it with an attitude? I didn't have time to look for a manager since we were in a hurry but I see no reason to why that was necessary when we didn't treat her bad nor received her without a smile. While writing this review I found my receipt and the cashiers name was Annabel, she was the one who threw our bag towards/ dropped close to my daughter with an attitude. If I could get an apology id be grateful, this has never happened before and I am in shock. This happened today (August 21) and hope it never happens again. And hopefully the manager is able to say something about this or speak with the cashier Annabel :) read more

Went to Ulta on S.Florida Ave looking for a Gel eyeliner, the one young lady in a white lab coat showed me Clinique eyeliner I told her I have tried that brand and I didn't like it. She just walks away. Then another lady that was just standing there i think she was in the hair department had no idea what I was talking about. So your going to tell me I am in a store that sells all kinds of makeup brand products and no one can help. Horrible customer service. read more

I love Ulta I have been shopping and coming here to get my hair done for years. Yesterday I went in for my appointment. I showed up a week prior to talk with the stylist and let her know what I wanted done and even then she didn't seem confident and was wanting to pass me off to someone else. Most stylist get excited when a client is wanting a colorful transformation but this stylist did not want anything to do with my hair it seemed. She went through with the appointment but kept making comments to her coworkers about how long it's taking, she wanted it to be over with, and even said I've been staring at this girls head all day. I was excited to get my hair done and this whole negative attitude really brought me down. I wanted this done for myself and as a birthday gift to myself. If you are not prepared or wanting to do colorful hair colors then do not be a stylists. I also put on my appointment I wanted a haircut because I know my ends are bad even she mentioned it. No hair cut was done and everyone knows adding a bright color to thin ends will fade faster. I did not mention the hair cut because of how throughout the whole appointment she was complaining and making those side comments. She wanted to be out of there clearly and honestly so did I. But somehow just the coloring was charged and added to $235. I accepted and paid and even left a tip though with her attitude she didn't deserve it. I visited the store in Williston Vermont last weekend. I had the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. While looking at an item an associate stopped doing eyebrows on another customer and actually took the item from my hand. While she berated me for trying to open the box she wouldn't stop talking long enough to understand what I was asking for. Then I was in the hair section for several minutes and not one associate asked if I needed any assistance. This store needs an extensive customer service training. One star was too generous a rating. read more

I would never go back to this Ulta Hair Salon again. From the moment I came in when the manager who I scheduled my hair appointment with who wanted to push me to be seen by someone else until the time I left. I went there with a clear picture of what kind of color I wanted and a style though I was flexible on that. When he sat me in the chair he made me brush my own hair, which I have a lot so whatever I let it go. Then after he was done coloring and I finally got to see the finish product instead of it being blonde as I wanted I got yellow hair. For someone who is supposed to be a manager and who I showed the picture of the color and style I wanted I was very disappointed. So $200 later and having to go to another salon to get my hair fixed I can finally say I am satisfied. Ulta needs to really watch who they hire and evaluate their skills. I went to this Ulta Beauty location today. It was my first time at any Ulta. I walked around for a good 20 minutes searching for what I came in for...finally I went to the counter to get assistance since it was clear no one was going to help me without me asking. Then when I get to the counter most of the young women are too busy texting on their phones to be bothered with helping customers. My total came to $70-some. I would've easily bought twice as much stuff had a single person offered to help me. read more

LOVE THIS ULTA! Employees are all so friendly and helpful whenever you need anything. If you can't find something they might have extra in the back and will take the time to look for your specific item! What made me have the most positive experience was the help of cashier Kristen. She really helped me save some money with the rewards card and offered me an extra sample! Which was amazing cause who doesn't like trying new stuff for free!? She was so sweet and patient with me cause I'm an all over mess and sometimes forget things. She made me and my boyfriends experience amazing (considering my man doesn't like being in "girly stores") he actually enjoyed checking out a lot of the skincare items in that section and purchased something for himself! I absolutely positively dislike this ulta. I've been to this location several times over the years and I have never once walked out satisfied. They are ALWAYS out of something, usually my color of foundation which is ridiculous because there aren't a ton of people buying it they just don't keep it stocked. They are not helpful and I very much dislike that they are always getting rid of products that I've grown accustom to. I can find the products at other places like Sephora and even Walmart. I received a gift card to Ulta and went into the store during a weekday lunch hour. The store was not that busy but to my surprise I couldn't find one single employee working the floor. Two employees remained at the cashier counter having a personal conversation. There was no other way to get help unless I waited in the check-out line just to ask a question. Shopping at this store is the same experience as shopping on-line. It's best to find another location to visit in person. read more

I went last week looking for a new full coverage foundation. The guy that helped me was AMAZING he listened to what I wanted, asked me my skin type and recommended to me what he thought was best; which was the Urban Decay all nighter foundation (my shade 3.0) I absolutely am obsessed with this foundation! I didn't remember his name but he's great. My mom went with me and he was talking to her in Spanish making our visit great! I love Ulta but unfortunately the staff at this location while extremely eager to assist, come up short with answers. I've been in twice now. The first time they didn't carry the line of makeup that was on sale in the email ad. This last time I was comparing two different self tanning mouses. The lady couldn't help me, she said "I've never needed to use that". She also couldn't show me where the self tanning mitts were since she had no idea what they were. It's a bit frustrating so I'll probably go back to Sephora. read more
