ZERO STARS. They don't do any samples. I have eczema and recently estee lauder changed their formula so I am on the search for a new foundation. They don't seem to care about their customers and I feel bad for the workers because they have no resources to take care of customers. I booked an appt with Shireen at the salon and she absolutely transformed my hair! I had previously gone to another stylist at a different salon who significantly over charged me and didn't give me what I asked for. Needless to say I was a bit traumatized. I decided to try out Ulta Salon given the price they offered services at and Shireen was such a breath of fresh air and restored my trust in a hair stylist! She gave me the most amazing highlights that added dimension and life back to my hair. I am a very huge fan of Ulta. They started carrying more makeup in, and it saves me from having to go to the mall. This location is conveniently located. Off of Ferrari Ranch Road. next to Sprouts Farmers Market they definitely have something for everybody. This is one of my favorite places to get my face washes my eyeshadows they have more than just makeup. They have all your beauty needs here and every time you put your phone over in you earn points towards getting money off of your total. Also, if you're looking for a new foundation, they will color match you on the spot and help you find exactly what you need the staff you're super great, super friendly very efficient. They also offer an Ulta store card that you could apply for and start earning points on one of my favorite places to shop at. I always find more than I need over here, but one of my favorite places, my go to it definitely saves me for having to go to the mall because they have all the same stuff here. I really like this location - Cassidy went above and beyond to help me find skincare products suitable for my skin type and was extremely friendly and personable. The only thing that sometimes tickles me, though is having to walk back out to my car to grab my ID for an order pickup instead of just using the order confirmation email - I've never heard of that before. I was dreading going into the store with my almost toddler however I needed a few things for my birthday weekend. I usually buy online and pick up in store, but i wanted to try some new lipstick colors. When we walked in we were greeted right away with a friendly "welcome in". I made my way to the setting spray section and was looking at the newer additions to the Urban Decay line. While looking for a while Desiree approached to see if I needed help. She was very friendly and talked me through my options. My daughter was playing with the testers below me and continued to drop them on the ground. Internally I was getting a bit flustered and apologized to Desiree for my daughter making a mess by mixing up the display. She imediately put me at ease and said it's "okay" with a smile on her face. She continued to assist me with the items I came in for and even brought me an alternative option of one of the items I was looking at. As a former sales person and sales manager I appreciated her assistance, attention to qualifying me for what I needed and for making me feel at ease with a little one in tow. If I was still working in the sales industry I would have tried to recruit her. I will certainly be back next time I'm in need of anything beauty. read more

This location is always so weird. I definitely prefer Roseville location over them. The girls are always snotty and weird or following you around. I walked in today for the 50% off deal and went to fragrance for the Billie Eilish fragrance and of course all eyes were on me and I was immediately asked what I needed. I worked at Ulta I know they watch fragrance like a hawk but it's such a turn off when shopping. Lola told me it was on the other side and after being condescending she told me she liked my shoes. I grabbed what I needed and went to check out. She was hot and cold the entire time and just thought she was so cute and being rude is not cute. Hopefully won't have to come back to this location again. The manager was super sweet. read more

My mom and I came here tonight my mom needed some make up and I needed some shampoos as soon as we came in I noticed how clean this establishment was very well stocked items and we promptly greeted upon entering and as soon as we came in the girl gave us a very warm greeting and helped my mom find the Clinique item she needed and I was looking for a new shampoo to try since the other shampoo made my hair very greasy so I needed something different to try I was very happy with the service I received she was very knowledgeable on all of the hair products and gave her honest opinion on what would work and what she has personally has tried which was very helpful I appreciated her honesty it was very nice I highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for new makeup and or shampoos they also have a hair salon in this location so In case you need to have your hair done you can have it done here I will definitely be coming back here again very soon for more future visits and more great experiences to come thank you Ulta in Lincoln for all the help you gave me and my mom tonight we definitely appreciate it thank you again I look forward to my next visit here again very soon thank You again read more

So there is this employee at Ulta who either A) Doesn't like me for I don't know what reason. B) is racist or C) is blind as hell! Every time I go in she never greets me and two seconds later another customer comes in and she greets them. At first I didn't pay no mind because I don't go to Ulta a lot, but once you notice the difference from other Ulta employees actually greeting you except for this girl, yea that's gonna catch my attention. I was in line to pay my items, there were 2 cashiers working...this girl and another girl. I was next in line as soon as she finished with who she was helping, but didn't acknowledge me waiting nor did she say "I can help the next customer" like she did previously to the one before me. She just stood there looking around but not at me. I even asked, "Are you open?" And she ignored me. I honestly do not know what her issue is but she needs to learn to help EVERYONE! Horrible experience! The manager Desiree and Kristina were very unprofessional. Kristina was on her phone the whole time and when I asked for help, she seemed upset. I had purchased a perfume, they didn't have a tester but I was told by Kristina that if I didn't like it I could come back and exchange. I went back 10 minutes later to exchange since I didn't not like it when I opened in the car to another perfume and Kristina seemed annoyed even though she was the one that told me I could do so. She told me I could do an even exchange and I told her I had to run to the car to grab my purse since I left my bag and wanted to purchase something else and when I came back, her and the manager were definitely giggling at the situation since they stopped talking as soon as I came in..Very childish... and now the manager Desiree is telling me I have to pay extra now even though the new perfume that I wanted cost less than the perfume I had originally purchased but she said it's because I had used a coupon but when I had asked if they could just honor the coupon for the new one as well.. since it's only been 10 minutes and Kristina just told me she was even able to just do an even exchange and now all of a sudden they are not able to... the manager just keep telling me to call customer service and she couldn't do it. I highly doubt it.. it was only $15 coupon, I'm sure she could've just inputted the coupon on the pos system. I called customer service and the guy was so nice and even gave me more rewards that I anticipated due to what I just dealt with. I did end up going to Ulta at the Roseville location since I wanted to purchase more items and they were super nice. I don't mind driving to that location for all of my future purchases or even just go to Sephora since I've never had any issues with them. read more

The hair salon inside this Ulta location has horrible customer service. They were incredibly rude when they called to confirm an appointment that I scheduled online, and they were even more rude when they called to push it back an hour (one hour before the scheduled time). Been Ulta customer for 10 years (!). And never had a chance to use it's Ulta rewards points (I didn't shop much) until this year. I've found my hairstylist and paid for Ulta services (and purchases) regularly, so by the end of this year it was supposed to accumulate over 800(!) Points. The issue occured when I was at check out and asked to use my point and was told that I have zero point balance although nobody could see a reason why the point history shows I am platinum member and points are listed but not accumulated on the balance page. I was promoted to contact Customer Service. Which I did. Nice lady took my info, confirmed that she had no idea why there is no points on my account to use and escalated the issue. In several days of silence I got an email from Ulta stating that my points were removed on purpose and that I will not be able to use them without any explanation to why. Very frustrating situation. Horrible customer service every time I come to this location.. tonight I came in an hour before closing and as soon as I opened the door the employee said sorry were closing early tonight without any explanation ... like okay if your closed at least lock the doors I drove 20 min to just do a simple exchange for concealer and when I told her that she just smiled .. there were multiple employees at the register somebody could've taken my simple and fast return and then actually locked the doors if they were wanting to leave an hour early for whatever reason.. Wishing I could give this store a 0, yes a ZERO! I made appointment with their Mac makeup 3 months in advance before special occasion I have to attend in Napa; sadly I received a message from this Lincoln Ulta 5:18pm, (a day before the occasion) that my appointment is being canceled! I got so stressed out and did not sleep at all. Spent whole night until morning searching online for a place where I could go; calling places early morning leaving messages on their machines knowing their salons was still closed for business. The most fearful and stressful feelings I've ever experienced. Most businesses were booked, luckily Michele in Loomis on her busy day felt so bad for me and was able to accommodate me. So far the store is very clean and the people there are very nice. My wife and I frequent the one in Roseville but it always is so chaotic and it's hard to go through the line because it's so long. This location just opened yesterday and even on a Saturday on the second day, the lines were much better than Roseville and everybody seem to want to help. This will be our go to Ulta moving forward only because it's close but also just because of the in and out ability as and it's not nearly as busy. It's worth checking out and going up to Lincoln as it is clean and has all the same stuff as in Roseville store. read more

Went in yesterday and was super disappointed with the customer service. I live in Yuba City area and went in to do a Back to MAC recycle for my mother for this is the closest location to us, as I know the program ends on March 31st. I'm a actual MAC employee at Macys and was told we could recycle at any MAC counter or location. Nobody was in the MAC area to help us as my mom and I shuffled through lipsticks by ourselves, the counter is right next to the cash wrap, clearly they could see us there and nobody came to help us. My mom went up to a man at the counter as he asked her "Hi do you have any questions?" my mom simple stated she wanted to do the recycle and he replied condescendingly "we no longer do that and the line is over there!-next in line?" calling for another customer by cutting off my mom with no explanation. Being a actual MAC employee this didn't sit right with me, so I asked another employee if we could do a recycle, he interrupted my question to the female employee stating their location no longer offers that because of "coupons" still not explaining what that meant. He asked if I wanted to speak to a manger. I was waiting for a manager that took too long & At that point I decided to take my business to another Ulta MAC where they happily accommodated me and my mom for our recycles. Being a MAC employee trying to go support another counter I was super disappointed with the lack of trying to help the customer or explaining policies and the vibe of the boy trying to over power my questions to another employee who had no time to respond to me as he talked over her. Won't be shopping here again or supporting my brand counter there but thankful for Ulta MAC Delta Shores for understanding us and immediately helping when we walked in the door. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. I live in this town and strive to support local but I would rather drive the extra miles to a different Ulta or not support Ulta at all seeing how every time I have entered this store it has been a horrible experience. I walked in New Years Eve (not knowing the store was closing early in 15 min) only to have made eye contact by one of the employees as she yelled back to her employee in the back of the store to turn off the music because the store is closing in 15 min. Didn't offer any help or greet me but was sure to let me know that I was inconveniencing her and that she was agitated that I had walked in. The visit before that, two employees (one being a manager) were talking trash about my friend who was in back of the store picking out products and they didn't know I was in the next aisle over listening to them. For a store who promotes validating women and helping them to look and feel their best, they have accomplished the opposite. Who wants to walk into a store where they are going to get judged and talked about and are rude to?! Today I needed to exchange the same exact product but a different color and the manager was extremely rude and wanted me to pay the difference for the product because I had used points to purchase it the first time. It's the same exact product and is a straight across exchange!! I had just bought the product a few days prior. Really disappointed in this store. I went in to Ulta today hoping to get a new foundation. I've been struggling finding something that works, my skin is dry like the desert and I am practically albino with lots of redness. I'm having engagement pics taken this weekend and needed serious help lol I was looking around and Tonya (hopefully I'm spelling it right, she had beautiful eyelashes and eye makeup and long dark hair) came to see if I needed help. I was so relieved because I had no idea where to start. She listened to my concerns and asked some questions about what I'm using now. She showed me a few different foundations and helped me find a couple to try out. She also helped me pick out a lip color (I never wear lipstick and was nervous). I had made an online appt. many weeks in advance because I was trying to grow my hair much longer but knew I needed to get it done before a big event I had next week. I get there and they don't have me in the system! Unfortunately, my Ulta app was incredibly slow logging in so I couldn't look up the appt. They were able to squeeze me in and I wish I had left and just suffered with how my hair looked. While I was walking around the store 2 women and a man came in, walked over to the perfume area loaded as much as they could quickly into the Ulta bags they were holding and walked right out! Watching that happen was crazy and of course, it changed the whole mood in the store. Maribel was the hairstylist I had and she did an awful job! I said I was trying to grow my hair long but she recommended a couple of inches off and we ultimately decide a 1 1/2 inch would be good. I mentioned I needed long layers because in the summer I wear ponytails a lot but when the weather is great like now, I like to wear it down and styled. I've been into Ulta several times and this location is particularly nice. It's well stocked, has plenty of staff to ask questions too, and most of the big brands you'd want to see. This weekend I used the salon to have my make up don and my hair styled for some family pictures. I have to say it was a really pleasant experience. I'm not used to doing my own makeup past foundation and mascara. Terry the stylist was really great about listening to what I wanted and creating the look. Part of the benefit of being at Ulta is they have access to just about everything! I was surprised that I didn't get a hard sales upsell pitch. I guess I'm used to someone trying to sell me whatever they use on me. But Terry was instructive, and helpful, without laying on the heavy sales pitch. I did really like the lip she did and am adding the products to my shopping list next time I'm in. I felt beautiful and confident when I left, I don't think I could ask for much more. It was a bit uncomfortable being worked on in the middle of the store, and several people interrupted Terry to ask questions... come on ladies.... she's working here... but can't blame the customers for being rude. They carry all the professional brands Ulta will NEVER carry! The carry INGLOT,Ben Nye, Glameirrie, OFRA, yeah they have all the highlighters in stock and the same price as online so you save shipping, Kryolan, Temptu Airbrush, Cinema Secrets (not just the brush cleaner) DoDo lashes, Mehron, Stilazzi, Sigma Brushes & Makeup, the full ine of Beasme Vintage makeup, Dolly Wink from Japan and tons more hard to find stuff. They even carry Black Moon Cosmetics! Sad to say Ulta is like the place where bad makeup goes to die. It's like the Walmart of makeup. Forget about it! read more

After a long day at work, I stopped in to pick up a new product I saw on the internet. I wanted to get in and out. I found my product and went up to the counter where the sales girl was. She was on her phone with another customer. It looked like she was trying to help her find something on the internet. I waited to be helped as I understood she was helping someone else. Then another customer came and stood at the opposite end and asked me where the line started. I said, "I don't know." The salesgirl then said, "Down there." and told the other customer she could help her. Fine. I got in the right spot. The salesgirl asked another worker to help the person she was first trying to help and then proceeded to ring up the the customer "in front" of me. When it was my turn to be helped, the salesgirl asked for my phone number. I said, "No number" I just wanted to buy my stuff and get home. She then turned her back on me and asked the customer next to her if she had a phone number so she could get points. I walked out. I realize that everything is done with "points" and stuff but what happened to just plain old guest service. Ring me up and let me be on my way. I probably should have just left when I got cut. I won't be shopping at Ulta. I will stick with Sephora. read more

I think she must be the best person to go to for highlights in this area. She listens, makes great recommendations and has been honest about the color direction of my hair for more than a year.
