I am first time customer to Halo and was extremely excited to get my hair cut today; however. I left the salon upset and disappointed. I had asked for layers but that is not what I received. It was obvious the hairdresser, Brooke did not know how to cut hair. I had to have another hairdresser step in to do the front of my hair. It took Brooke nearly 2 hours to cut my hair and I left with half of my hair in the back of my head layered and the other half was not. When I arrived home my family could see it instantly. Found this place on yelp, I read good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I brough my daughter to get a hair trim and she loves it. Ashley was patient and caring she did a great job! She also gave her opinion on what would look best and would work for my daughter's hair. My daughter is a teenager and she's at that age where she's so picky, but she was happy with Ashley's work! The only thing you have to know about this place is that they will not take credit cards! Bring your cash, check or Venmo! The first time I had a great experience that I wanted to return with my daughter for her second time. But unfortunately after me calling them 3x for an appointment with Ashley I never got a call back from the salon or from Ashley herself to book an appointment. The below review one-star review sounds a bit suspicious and I don't believe a word of it. It also drove me to write this review! I have been coming to see Crystal at Halo for years. I have extremely thick and curly hair, so I have had my fair share of awful haircuts in the past-lampshade anyone? Crystal is absolutely amazing and knowledgable with both cut and color. She is a seasoned professional with her color recommendations and the colors fade beautifully. Recently, and the day before I had my next hair appt, someone yelled at me from their car that my hair was gorgeous. This isn't a one-time compliment, but a constant occurrence. Makes me question if 2 1/2 months is too short to wait for my next appt (I usually book my next appt when I'm there for my appt, because she is VERY popular). The products they use must be high quality since they fade so richly. If you aren't happy about any aspect of your hairstyle, like I was at one point with a cut, they will offer to have you come back to correct the issue, so you are satisfied. They really try to help their customers. Do remember though, you are getting what you paid for when you come to a salon of this caliber, with these types of stylists. If you need someone that's more budget friendly, they have other stylists available that are available at different price points and also amazing, so there's always an option. I went to Halo for the first time yesterday to get my eyebrows waxed and sadly it wasn't what I was expecting. Everyone was very nice and Lindsey who waxed my eyebrows did a great job. She was very sweet and profesional. I was disappointed by the set up, they don't have a separate waxing area?! When I made the appointment at Halo Salon and SPA I assumed they had the appropriate accommodations. They advertise waxing as part of their services but I had my eyebrows waxed sitting at the hair washing sinks. I actually really liked Lindsey and her work but I didn't like the experience. read more

I went to Halo Salon for a haircut. Due to having long blonde hair, it was very damaged from being dyed to blonde from dark brunette. I asked for shoulder length with layers and face framing layers. Well....I think the picture speaks for itself....horrible horrible haircut....super choppy, VERY uneven, pieces still peeking out, no face framing layers other than the one that is chopped in the front. It's been 10 months since I got this haircut and I am STILL growing out the atrocious layers and am so embarrassed whenever I wear my hair down. I probably have a lot of hair breakage from wearing it in a ponytail or a bun for so long to hide it! Hated it and won't recommend anyone to go get a haircut here. read more

You also need to know that if you are dissatisfied with the results (because it looks really bad) that this salon does not have a policy in place to refund your money if you request it. I brought in a picture of the Balayage Highlighs I wanted for that special day. Ive been wearing extension for many years so I also wanted those highlighted to match my hair. This appointment was a nighmare(5 hours) When I left my hair look nothing like the picture. I was visably upset and the sylist never even inquired why? I decided I was going to go home and style my hair myself before I made any decisions. I worked with my hair for several days before I finally reached out to my sylist and sent her pictures. I told her I thought my hair looked terrible. She said she felt like it looked great when I left but balayage is a very different way of highlighting and maybe I didnt like the way that technique looked on my hair. She wanted me to come back in to fix it and I told her that I was unconfortable and very busy due of the wedding and the fact that she thought it looked great and time factors I would just prefer my money back $295.00. She told me she would have her manager call me. Manager calls and says I would have to come in and they would have to attampt to fix it before she would consider a refund. "DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A RISK ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE" She also mentioned it was not her POLICY to refund money to unsatisfied customers. Sorry Halo Salon- that is not how you handle business. I do not have the time to drive to Roseville for the 3rd time (i had to pick up my extensions 2 days later) and do not trust that they would fix it correctly. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED! It has been almost four months since I got my haircut by Krystal K. and it is still much shorter than I wanted. I took a picture of Jessica Alba in with me assuming I would come out with a haircut that at least resembled it. I got a hackjob! Krystal came recommended from a coworker who must hate me because I would never recommend Krystal to anyone! I walked in and she was running about 15 minutes behind. Once I finally got seated in her chair, I whipped out my picture and she played with my hair showing me the length she was thinking matched the picture. I agreed with excitement! She ponytailed my hair and cut it prior to washing. During this part she cut about 15 inches off, which was fine. I was thinking she would just clean it up after washing. Well, she washed it and cut and cut and cut. She said she was "de-momming it." What I didn't realize then was that she was putting layers in the back and just doing her own thing. What I wanted went out the window and she was just creating what she wanted. My shortest layer in the back went to the top of my ears!!! She dried it and curled it and I couldn't believe what I saw in the mirror. It was honestly the worst cut of my life. To go in expecting one thing and coming out with something completely different was horrifying! Fast forward to today, 4 months later. I am looking into extensions because my hair is still shorter than I initially wanted, I can't do ponytails for the gym, and it is shaggy! I am looking at paying between $800-$1,000 for the hair and application through another hairstylist of course! So expensive but I honestly hate my hair! My advice to you would be to go someplace else unless you want a stylist who doesn't listen to you and just goes about her own thing on your hair! read more
