To preface. This isn't the first time I've been at this location to buy beauty supplies. I came here to get my hair colored because I dyed it with henna about 11 months ago and was looking for something new. I know about the unpredictability of using henna and then dying with color, especially with products that use developer, due to the chemical reaction between the two. What I'm disappointed about is that when I asked about which dye to use, it turned into a conversation about how much of a bad decision it was and that I was going to "go bald" by burning all my hair off. How I expected the conversation to go was to do a test strand and purchase a sample bottle of a lifting agent before using a permanent color dye. After being discouraged from coloring my hair, I went ahead and bought my regular hair products, along with a new pair of scissors, since my previous pair had outlived their usefulness. Just had another great experience at the Rocklin Sally Beauty. I came in a few months ago to get products to dye my hair at home, and the staff was super helpful with tips that actually worked. Even though they were out of the specific Wella color I wanted, the girl working suggested a perfect alternative and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted. Came back today for more hair color and developer, the same helpful girl was there and helped me find everything quickly. I was in and out. I been using Sallys products for so many years now I buy my shampoo , conditioner , hairspray, hair gel heat protector, and many more hair products. I buy my son Suavecito for his hair it works wonders . I have also bought clip on hair extensions here. They are awesome you could style them with any heat tool. They have lasted me a long time. They have a great selection for hair straighteners, and blow dryers any heat tool you can think of . They also carry a lot of nail polishes and make up. I went to Sallys yesterday, and I was greeted with a smile the two young ladies working there were super nice and attentive. The only negative thing I have to say about the store is that sometimes they're out of products that I use but they always come back in stock . The store looked very organized and clean .. Overall this is a great store for anything hair related for men and woman . This is definitely my go to store I get lost in there getting so many awesome things . I have not been to this location in a long time. I had to use a box color on my hair since I was going for open interviews for a job today unfortunately, the color that I got did not grab the way. I wanted to and still ended up showing some of my pasty white hair. This is the first time I've ever had to use hair dye to cover up my grays. I feel old lol I called up the store today and explained that the color didn't do what I wanted it to and she could see when she looked at my hair that it didn't pull the way I wanted it to. She was very helpful to suggest a clarifying shampoo that will pull my color out under a month. This is a very nice establishment one of my favorite places to buy beauty supplies I won't be doing my hair myself again lesson learned I was trying to save Money by doing it myself and I'm not a stylist, but I tried doing it myself I haven't done my hair myself since I was like in my 20s I won't attempted again. She was very helpful and very sweet to walk me through the process and process a return and also very helpful to tell me that the clarifying shampoo that she uses it helps take out the color very fast, very large establishment with several different things to choose from knowledgeable, friendly helpful staff they don't just have hair dying stuff. They have also other things to buy as well make up. They have a lot of beauty supplies and much more. I have been coming to this location to purchase my hair dye and developer for root touch ups for many many years. I have never had an issue until today. Today my fiancé came into the store with me, wearing a puffer jacket because it's 47° outside. While I was looking for my hair dye, my fiancé was looking at the shampoos. My fiancé was very obviously targeted by the two employees at this location, as both were staring at her nonstop while she was browsing shampoos. Not once did either employee approach her and ask her if she needed help. It was clear that they assumed she was going to try and steal shampoo. I am a white woman and have worn bulky puffer jackets inside the store without any problem. It's interesting that my fiancé, a woman of color, was watched like a hawk. My fiancé came to me immediately and voiced how uncomfortable she was. I will not be returning to this store, and will be taking my business to the Sally's in Roseville from now on. read more

I love coming to Sally's. I know what i'm getting, plus they have the extra stuff my daughter & I like, such as face masks.. On this trip, I was coming in for my usual stuff and the girl walking around asked me what I was looking for as they normally do. I told her what I was picking up and she suggested a different product. It would work faster n make my color brighter... it was also more expensive. I figured she may know a little more than me if she was making suggestions, plus, it was a kit.. sho I decided to try it. Ok, so i'm going to only stick to what I like from now on. This product did work faster, it was stronger(yes, I noticed it was stronger before I bought it) and it burned my scalp.. I didn't even put it on my scalp.. but it felt like fire and it felt like my hair was going to burn off! I needed to get the brightness I normally go for so after my scalp was not feeling like it was on fire, I tried reapplying and it just was not happening. My scalp was too sensitive. I feel like if I'm coming in for a product, and I'm being asked what I'm looking for, please, DO NOT suggest another product to me. I am going to double check if these girls are even licensed cosmetologists that should be giving suggestions and recommendations.. I love sallys beauty supply stores in general but this specific location .... I went to and asked the associate what items I'd use to get my bleached blonde hair a silver/grey color.... she walked me down the correct isle and handed me a box that said shark blue then told me to grab a toner in ash blonde with 30 developer apply it after the blue and I will have my said result..... yeah my hair didn't turn out silver nor grey. It's turquoise! !!!! I'm not sure if it's standard that employees here are supposed to be educated and licensed. .. but not only did I waste money but my hair looks ridiculous :( last time I'll ask advice and go to this location. My hair is fried and looks like mermaid poop and I certintly don't want to put anything else on my hair right now bevause of how bad my hair is breaking! I'm supposed to go on a cruise this week. Waaaaay better than dealing with rude, disrespectful creatures. They always have a problem with any kind of sale, a discount that you received via text from Sally's. I went in and asked the cashier lady for help. She had long blonde hair so I thought she would be able to help me with what to buy for dying my roots. She picked something out that looked like it would work. 5 minutes into putting the color in my hair, I noticed my roots were turning platinum blonde which is not the color of the rest of my head.
