They took the money on the gift cards as well!!!! Their "customer service" did zero to help. The manager in the store will also be of zero help. I also have lost money trying to use a gift card in their store. The pin was not legible in the store.. I was directed to customer service. They "were unable to help". After I heard of an ulta I thought it wouldn't be that good. Me and my co worker stopped in after work. I was looking for some sugar scrubs, and they were fully stocked. I was so suprised and grabbed a lot. The worker there are super nice, and helped me to look for stuff. I totally recommend going here, they have the best service and are always stocked. read more

I love Ulta. I'm always at Ulta. I use their cosmetics and soap products. I'm always there. How could I not know they sell Clinique until just a few days ago? I had a mishap at Macy's and they told me... (I did post a review of Macy's just in case you wanna know.) The Clinique girl here is amazing. She really knows what she's talking about and will take the time to tell you. I went Tuesday. It's now Friday. Already with her recommendations I can feel a difference. Three days. What can I say... this store is one of girls best friends. All kinds of beauty all in one spot. If your looking for makeup, hair accessories or even perfume, this is your place. You can also find mens cologne as well. The prices are pretty reasonable and the products are in wide variety. The customer service at this particular location is outstanding as well. Everyone is so helpful and the store is pretty big, so you're not bumping into anyone or waiting in long lines. I love coming hear to purchase my Naked foundation from Urban Decay. Another one of my favorites is a Nivea face scrub that I can never find at any of the drug stores. I had a lady name Lilana do my hair color correction. I paid about $300 to get my hair done. My roots are a brassy yellow. I don't know why it didn't pull all the way. I feel like my original hair stylist would of never let me walked out of her salon like that. That's what I get for not having patience. Also I didn't like how now I have two pieces of hair ripped on each side under neath my hair. & two pieces on top ..so 4 pieces broken off .. making me look like a mushroom head. My hair was all grown out to a decent length but when I got back from the appointment I realized she must of ripped out a lot of my hair. Anyways, not the best experience. Be careful who you go to. If you can, stick to one trusting hair stylist VS trying a new one out. (I did it since I was staying in the area, had no patience and wanted to get it done immediately the next day for my Xmas party at work that current week) big mistake. Now I have more hair to grow out and two different hair colors in my hair.. she said she was in the hair industry for 10 years... Pshhhh your a huge joke lady. You should be fired for this!!!! Don't ever come here to get your hair done. Go back to your original hair stylist. Wish I could give them 0 stars!!!! read more

Cynthia does great eyebrows, but she has the worst attitude. She is passive aggressive and doesn't care about her clients, we'll because technically they are Ulta's clients I guess. Today I drove an hour from Lakeview in Chicago where I live to my appointment. When I got there she said I didn't have an appointment, didn't bother to try and squeeze me in, but spent 10 minutes retrieving a manager to send me away. Which I thought was extremely rude. Then the manager asked to reschedule me and I'm like no, I'm not driving back. I told Cynthia she was rude and unprofessional and her customer who was obviously a friend or family member jumped in the conversation, defending her and then threatened to call the police. Stay away from the Brow Bar and I reported her to corporate. Another customer in line says she's had the same problem with Cynthia and her rudeness. Replace Her ASAP read more

I recently went to the Ulta at Hobart to get my hair straightened permanently. When we spoke on the phone, I was suggested a relaxer but when I went there my stylist insisted she could not do th relaxer treatment on me because of my colored hair and would rather do the more expensive Keratine smoothening treatment. She told me I would get my frizz under control with the treatment but after my first wash three days after I came back from the parlor, my hair looks exactly the same. Now I am $220 short and my hair is not straight or frizz-free at all. Definitely do not recommend the hair services at this place to anyone. read more

The worst haircut I've ever received. Looks like someone took a machete and just started chopping my hair. I asked for shoulder length haircut and that my bangs stay long but slanted cut at an angle to put behind ear. What I got was choppy short bangs that look like a two year old took scissors to her head and started cutting away. The color was decent, I did notice some grays did not cover, when I mentioned it to the girl, she said "yes it's gray hair, but that's good, you can't tell if it's your highlight or gray". The left side above my ear is dark and there are no highlights and the right side there are highlights. I tried putting my hair in a ponytail an it looks hideous. I now have to wait for my hair to grow out. read more

Let me first say that it has been ages since I've stepped into Ulta and the ONLY reason why I went to this one was because the Benefit located in Bloomingdale's in downtown Chicago was just toooooo far away now that I've moved to NWI. I found out that benefit is conveniently located at this ULTA location. Cool! I met with Heather for my free birthday eyebrow wax and was pleased with the consistency. Heather is friendly and does a good job. I think next time I want cleaner and straighter "lines" for my eyebrows, but overall, I'm very pleased. The first eyebrow wax I had done at the downtown location really set the bar. Also, ULTA looks amazing and hads added tons of products. Its done a 360 since I've last visted, which made me even get a rewards card! :) I WILL be back! read more

Just left. Had a rough experience with cashier Rachel. Upon showing her an online coupon w/o even looking she screamed " unfortunately, you can't use that coupon with this purchase." That's fine, but normally the employee would wait until the customer asked the question before screaming out "coupon coupon". Then, we were told that the free gift promised along with purchase is not available to us. Rachel "said "unfortunately, that's not showing up on my end." It took another employee to go to the area and check to confirm that we were indeed legit free gift earning customers and not coupon clipping liars. UNFORTUNATELY, Rachel did not provide us a pleasant experience at all. Update: because of the poor customer service I've decided to return this item. Recalling the intentional lack of professionalism & disrespectful acts ( intentionally making eye contact with only my husband as if I the actual customer was invisible. Leaving my purchase on the counter for me to grab & go. No thank you for your purchase, have a nice day, etc.) just very intentional disregard of a paying customer. This is the worst store ever! They have great products and the store is very clean; however, the employees are subpar. I have yet to enter the store to make a purchase where I haven't had to wait in line. It doesn't matter how many people are in line they normally only have one person checking you out. I find this baffling as there are usually several employees standing around chatting with each other. Unless you have extra time to waste - Go elsewhere. read more

I walked in on Mother's Day weekend with my family. I was not greeted nor was my husband but there were two girls at the register looking and laughing in my direction in which I let them know I was aware of them being shady and rude. I watched as a older woman and her husband walked in moments after me and was greeted loudly and happily... that woman complimented me and my family as she was passing us in store. Three women from the back finally asked me did I need help after we were in the perfume section. They were helpful. When I got to the register I waited to make sure the two females who were acting immature did not check me out. The one who checked me out was pleasant. Sidenote: some of there staff seem racist and rude AF but others are very nice. Upper management needs to check this immediately. They also never answer the phone you have to keep calling. From my experience and my husband experience prior to this incident I will no longer patron this location and go 7 more minutes out my area to have a better experience. read more

Honestly, they treat me awful every time I go here. They always assume I'm stealing or "acting suspicious" when I'm just looking at high end products. Just because I'm 20 doesn't mean I can't afford high end products. All the employees are also just rude every time I try to get them to color match me for a foundation they ALWAYS choose the wrong color, but it is nice how clean it is. Plus Danny is an amazing stylist other than him the other employees are just rude. read more

I've visited this location a few times and each time the staff was not friendly. On one occasion, after I chose two tubes of lip gloss, staff rushed me so she could wait on another patron. I asked her about a face wash and without saying a word she pointed in the direction to find it and walked away. I just feel like if I'm here spending my money I should be treated better at least heard out. Great products with unprofessional staff. read more

Will never shop at this location again. This isn't the typical location I shop at but I was visiting family in another state. The Sephora nearby gives such better customer service and you may as well shop there if you want a better cosmetic experience. I went in a week ago to exchange two products that initially totaled $45 for over $140 worth of product that I needed for travel. I was in desperate need of makeup and figured I could exchange what I had extra of for the necessities at the time. The product was brand new and never opened. I lost my receipt and it couldn't be retrieved for some reason with my telephone number. I had never exchanged at Ulta but I assumed it would cause me no trouble. I was cashed out by Megan who was unpleasant and not caring in my situation. She said she could only give me $10.25 for my return without a receipt. No other option or apology. I was desperate due to flying out the next morning so I just resumed the transaction. I told her I was contacting Ulta about this since I had to lose $35 just for a lost receipt. She didn't care. I also only ended up purchasing one mascara and purchased the rest at Sephora across the street. read more

I went into Ulta to get a Brazilian Wax at 6:30 on a Thursday. The wax took 1 hour. I have never had a wax take more than 30 minutes. There was still hair left in places. There was an area that was swollen, tender and later I discovered that there was an area that looked burned. This was the same area she went over multiple times. During the wax she mentioned that my hair texture was course and curly. Not really sure what that meant. I contacted the general manager Kim of store and she did not express concern or apologize for the situation. She sent me to the salon Manager and she offered me some cream to put on the area, which I declined. The salon Manager Donna then pawned me back over to the general manager to see if she would give me a store credit. I will never spend anymore of my money with Ulta due to the poor customer service and lack of concern for my situation. read more

I spent 40 dollars to have my makeup done for prom and I had to go home, take it all off and redo it myself. I showed the makeup stylist a picture of what I wanted (which was a smokey eye with a hint of purple) and when I turned to look in the mirror my entire eye lid all the way up to my eyebrow was a solid purple. When I let the lady know that's not what I wanted, she got a dirty old towel with a drizzle of water on it and tried to wipe it off my face. There was no contouring at all, a little bit of powder and concealer and then she stopped. After multiple try's without getting a decent result I went home to try to redo it myself. I'm very unhappy with wasting and hour and 40 dollars on this. read more
