Good luck getting checked out at this location, the workers dodge any incoming phone calls and run to the back while one cashier slowly checks out guests. If you have been to one Ulta Beauty, you have been to just about all. They generally carry the same items unless in specific areas, etc. This Ulta also has a hair salon but I had never given much thought to it. Ben's Mom normally gets me a large gift certificate to Ulta each year for Christmas and even after I had bought the things I wanted I still had plenty. Now, I know the certificates don't expire but I was in the need haircut or at least trim the ends. I tend to wear my hair very long so I don't like when I ask for 2-3 inches off and then suddenly it is 6 inches. It seems to happen over and over even when I try new salons. So I made an appointment online, just picking a stylist that was available during the times that fit my schedule since I had no knowledge of anyone working there. I explained and showed her what my idea of 2-3 inches was to cut off the split ends and she said no problem and we continued the process. After she was done she dried my hair and curled it a little for me... everything felt great and I left extremely happy. It was actually the next day when the curls settled down more that I was able to get a better feel of my hair and just how well she listened to how I wanted it. 2-3 inches off the length and then layers that should follow where the previous layers could be seen but also trimmed. It's about time to get another trim and I have my fingers crossed that the same stylist still works there. read more

Purchased 2 tubes of Beekman on line for pick up. Upon opening boxes both tubes were missing safety seal, lotion was leaking out. I immediately returned them. Cashier stated it was probably a used return? 1.Health code violation 2. I see lawsuits linked to Ulta for selling used returns. Buy with caution. I will shop elsewhere. read more

I came in looking for specific blushes and tried to find them myself. Despite employees being around, no one offered help. When I finally approached an associate, she ignored me for a full minute and wouldn't even look up from what she was doing to acknowledge me, only to dismissively say they were sold out. The lack of professional standards was even worse when I wanted to try on a lipstick. Instead of sanitizing the tester for me, the associate just handed me a bottle of alcohol and told me to go find my own tissues. I shouldn't have to perform my own professional sanitation in a beauty store. I was ready to buy, but the dismissive attitude and total disregard for basic hygiene protocols made me walk out empty-handed.... Looks like Ulta is turning into Sephora... read more

Great shopping experience. As Christmas approaches working retail can be quite draining but this crew did a fantastic job!

Although I did not physically go inside of this store, I did have an amazing experience on the phone with this lovely lady named Sarah. I do normally shop here, but I was simply unable to go in yesterday. I had a couple quick questions. Additionally, I found out that my mom took over my Ulta account and therefore I had to make a whole new account. Sara helped me from beginning to end making an entirely new account over the phone. She was so kind so sweet very helpful, funny charismatic, and ultimately the best experience I have ever had calling a business Sarah, thank you for making my birthday one to remember. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I had lash clusters done TWO days ago by Ashley explaining I wanted something to last more than a day or two as I was heading out of town to renew my vows. She said okay, picked lashes and glue and began doing my lashes. When I got home, two were raised a bit, easy fix, pushed them down a bit thinking I must have moved my eyes too soon. Then next day (on the flight) lost two clusters. Fixed with the glue I bought (nothing recommended by the way) and moved on this morning woke up to FIVE more clusters out. Called to talk to the store manager, useless. She said that they aren't meant to last, meanwhile that's exactly what the description says on their site. I am now going to have to spend more to have them redone (never again at Ulta) and the lack of empathy and customer was astounding from the manager. There are way too many other choices to shop from, don't give your money to them, especially for services from this location and definitely do not use Ashley as she clearly is incapable of doing a quality service. read more

Terrible customer service. I heard the girl checking the customer next to me out encouraging the customer to create an account as he won't be able to return the item if it doesn't work out. The customer politely declined and she said "well I hope it's not broken". Horrible customer service I would never speak to a customer in that manner. Some staff may need retraining. I went in a week before Christmas, with a fragrance set return, WITH receipt. Emily was pretending to help me, was not friendly. I told her I needed to return this unused item and she asked, ARE YOU SURE IT"S UNUSED? Her tone was very questioning. I asked her why she was questioning me when I already confirmed it was unused (in the original packaging) and her response was, I'm just doing my job...repeated. She got very defensive and waked off the floor without saying a work and left me standing without the return completed. The manager Elizabeth eventually came over and was not apologetic. When I expressed my complete dismay at her behavior, she too was short and eventually said. I'm sorry you feel that way. I understand store clerks get frustrated during busy seasons but the lack of Customer Service was glaring. Great selection but I think I'll purchase online. read more

I walked in Ulta Beauty store located at 3142 Tampa Rd., Oldsmar and all I could smell was a heavy overpowering perfume smell. It was so strong I wanted to hold my breath! It was making me nauseous so I quickly went to the area where the products that I needed so I can purchase them and leave. The loud techno rave music was distracting as I was looking over the products and trying to read the labels. I went to the cashier line and noticed 7 women in line with two cashiers. One of the cashier's who was tall, long straight hair wearing a low cut blouse with her breasts literally hanging out! She left her cash register area to help a customer while a line of customers are waiting to pay for their products. A job more suitable for that cashier dressed like that would be a Hooters or nightclub, totally inappropriate having your breasts hanging out of your blouse when it's 10:30am in the morning and your working in a retail store. The other cashier worked hard to get the long line of customers through that were waiting to purchase their products such as myself. She was pleasant, however she had that stressed out look like she didn't want to be there. Ulta Beauty gets two stars, one for having my products in stock and two for plenty of parking. As for customer service, the employees do not look happy and the ambiance, the store needs an air purifier to clean the perfume spray chemicals in the air and easier listening music than having it thump in your ears. Overall, I'm pleased that we have an Ulta Beauty in Oldsmar. :) read more

Ulta excites me the way Toys R Us used to back in the day. An abundance of name brand cosmetics, skincare and salon-grade hair products to choose from. And yes I want to play with it all and never grow up. The first visit was a bit overwhelming since I was shopping for a curling iron and they have at least twenty different kinds. I suppose I should've done my research but an employee offered help. I checked afterwards and her recommendations were legit on point. I was happy with my purchase and the price was more than reasonable. I used a coupon as well. They carry most of the shampoo and conditioners that I use and the prices are well below the salon. The Bare Minerals selection could use enhancement but they have the basics for when I'm in a rush and can't get to International. The store still feels brand new, is clean and laid out well. You won't get lost and every product is within reach. There's an actual salon in this store, too. Overall I'm excited to have finally realized this exists and in an awesome shopping plaza that I happen to frequent. read more

I am a middle aged woman with very little experience with make-up. I was on a mission to find the right make up for my skin and was prepared to be completely overwhelmed with choices. When I entered the store a very pleasant young lady, Lauren greeted me and asked me if I needed help. I explained to her what I was looking to do and boy did I hit the jackpot with Lauren. She spent a good amount of time showing me products, explaining the different types of primer, concealer, blush, bronzer , etc. She helped me try out numerous products on my face and was extremely patient while I was making my decisions. I was thoroughly impressed with her knowledge of the different brands. It is apparent that Lauren truly loves her job! read more

Thank you to the store management for listening to the experience we had and doing what may be needed to rectify the situation. The store is beautiful, very well maintained, clean and well stocked. The person I spoke with about suggestions for the product I was looking for, dry shampoo, was very kind and shared from experience of her own, what worked best for her and the difference between the different products she had tried. The properties and so on and so forth. Originally, we were scheduled for a hair appointment. It did not go as well as it could have and we did not have the best experience. They care and are enthusiastic to show you the best products instead of selling you just anything, which has been my experience at Sephora and other free standing stores ( not knocking what they're trained to do, and I'm sure they also know what they're talking about but I feel like it's less honest). This is a newer Ulta and right smack dab in the middle of the Oldsmar Woodlands shopping plaza. I'm not a salon person...I get my hair cut maybe once a year and had not had my hair colored professionally in over 5 years. Back in my hometown for Thanksgiving I wanted to get my hair done before the big Thanksgiving get together with family. I had colored my hair a couple weeks with horrible results and was hoping a fresh cut and color would be a nice self esteem booster before the stressful holiday season. I was able to book the appointment online which was super convenient. My stylist Shelley did an awesome job and I am so pleased with my new do. read more

I'm very disappointed in this location. I'm amazed that your able to retain so many employees at a given time...that don't help your customers. Every time I go to this store no one offers help or assistance to myself or other customers. I had 3 employees purposely walk down a different aisle to not have to speak to myself and I watched how they treated others and sad to say they were more interested in speaking with 1 another then assisting the other customers. Sadly I won't bring my business to Ulta any further. I left after I accidentally dropped the lid to an item. Nothing broke but I heard the male employee say that sounded expensive and laugh while no one even bothered to check if everything was ok. Very disrespectful staff. Don't bother calling them because some employees don't know any of their product. They'll hang up on you anyway if you do try to call them. I've been in the store a couple of times and it's ok some of the employees are kind and helpful but mostly they try to sell you whatever is on promotion rather than accommodating to your needs. This place is my go to for everything beauty because they literally have everything you'll ever need. For a very long time, I was a religious department store make up user. However, I started branching out because I felt like I was missing out on so many things. I also wanted to change to only using cruelty free products. The store is always clean, they always have staff there if you need help (and you probably will because they sell so much that it's overwhelming!). They have a decent rewards program where you get points for every purchase. Those points eventually add up to where you can move up tiered levels throughout their system to either platinum or diamond. The higher your level, the faster you get points. In addition, you get free shipping on any online order you make which is an added bonus. They frequently send me coupons, but you can't use them on premier brands, which is the only issue I have with Ulta. Although, that clearly doesn't deter me from shopping there! read more
