I have been in a dire need of a haircut so I decided to go ahead and set an appointment. I get TWO confirmation emails both saying the exact time my appointment is set for. I wrote it down and I had it in my calendar on my phone. It's the morning of my appointment, I get there exactly at the time both emails had notified me about. I'm really excited because I REALLY REALLY need a haircut, so I walk to the back and tell them I'm here for my appointment. And the lady says that in their system they had me scheduled for an earlier time?? Which doesn't make any sense to me when all the information I received about my appointment says something completely different. They tell me that I missed my appointment and they can't do anything about it. But I didn't miss it, I got there exactly what I had scheduled it for. The lady was extremely rude that I had first talked to, and apparently she would have been the one to cut my hair so maybe it was a sign LOL. The second lady I talked to pretty much told me the same thing the first one did but in a nicer way but at this point I'm over it. I then talk to two other ladies and they apologize and asked me if anyone had called me prior to my scheduled appointment to confirm, I told them no and showed them both emails I received. At first they both seemed a little confused on why they didn't take me in or why no one tried to call but they again apologized and said there was nothing they can do. I try to make this Ulta my last resort LOL!!! I gave it 2 stars because they had the concealer and foundation stick I needed. The employees here don't help period!!!!!!! One of the times I came there was no one in line to check out, so my friend went straight to the register, the girl at the register told her where the line started..... Then my friend found something else and went back to the line to purchase again, she went to where the girl said it started this time, and this time the girl rolled her eyes and just rang it up, took the money, and that was it. No "have a nice day", no "thank you", nothing. The manager on duty wasn't any better. So I just like to go to the better, more organized and clean stores as well. read more

So I live about 5 minutes from this ultra and it is so convenient to get perfume and makeup, but I am not going to go back again for makeup at this location. The last three times I have gone here for makeup I have either had to return the makeup or I left because I did not receive any help picking a color or getting the actual product. Example- I went in this week Monday to buy foundation. I was hoping they sold este launder since on the website they had this product. When I arrive to the store they are not that busy, I see two employees in the makeup section talking, so I go through the aisles trying to find este laundry and yes I looked confused and needing assistance. So what do the employees do...... look at me struggling and not come to my aide. This has happened to me a few times at this location and it confuses me, what are you here for if not to help consumers find product? So for like 5 minutes I went though the makeup section with no one coming to help me and then finally I thought well they aren't coming to me I'll go to them. When I approach the two girls they stop talking and look at me like I'm approaching them on the street with confused looks. I ask them if they sell este lauder in the store, I was told no. Then I asked if hey sold anything similar to this product, they said yes. Ok well then I asked what makeup. Then one girl walked away and the other then continued to ask me questions about my skin. Ultimately I had to return the foundation she recommended because it picked up the orange highlights in my skin so when I went outside I looked orange. I have never had a problem with getting my eyebrows done at the Brow Bar at this location until today. I walked in and asked if by any chance I could get a wax and Amy said she had an opening for 3:00 pm, and it would just take 20 minutes before I got my brows done (I walked in at about 2:40 pm). So I walked around and shopped while waiting. Finally at 3:45 pm, after Amy had spent almost an hour with the same customer I let the cashier know to cancel my appointment that I couldn't wait any longer. I understand that I was a walk in, but I wish she wouldn't have told me that she could take me if there wasn't any time for it. read more

This year is coming to an end and so it is the perfect time for me to round the year off with my 200th review. Ulta is a fun store. At least for me it is. I am fascinated with cosmetics and skin care and the chemistry that goes into them. While you won't necessarily be hands on immersed in chemistry at Ulta, you can experience the end products. Ulta carries a variety of cosmetics and skin care from what I call "higher end drugstore brands" like Vichy and Olay to prestige brands like Bliss and Peter Thomas Roth. This applies to cosmetics, too. Ulta sells lower cost makeup lines such as Maybelline and Cover Girl as well as higher end makeup artists' lines Lorac and Too Faced. The same can be said for hair care lines. Some Ulta locations carry more brands, low and high end, than others. It's best to call the specific stores and ask. I do wish Ulta sold more of the top cosmetics and beauty lines and maybe at some point they will. This particular location is the focus of my review. While in this area, I decided to check and see if this Ulta had a particular item in stock. The Ulta closest to me seems to always be (and unbelievably still is) out of stock on many products. While this store was sadly sold out of the item, the sales lady was actually able to tell me WHEN they receive new merchandise and would be restocking. Yes, she knew WHAT DAY and TIME. This was pleasant news to me since the "other Ulta's" employes are seemingly incapable of such information. The employees here were all busy with other customers, yet they all took the time to greet me and assure me that they would be with me very soon. The service here is helpful and friendly and did I mention knowledgeable? The store itself is new, large and very well lit. Being new it's very clean but with the brightly lit interior it will have to stay clean. Dirt and dust can't hide in this illumination. The layout of the store is one of actual sensibility! You can scan the store from almost any angle and find the area you need and what you may be looking for. Despite being sold out of what I wanted the store was plentiful in everything else. The shelves were neat and well kept with pricing clearly marked. While not being a close drive, this Ulta locale is one I will come back to when in the area. Spic-n-span store, employees who give a clear and informed answer to questions and an abundance of wares are things to be appreciated and this Ulta delivers. read more

I've gone to this Ulta location several times with an open mind and wallet and never seem to get any help, but then Angelina came along and changed the entire perception! I have what most would define as an obsession with make up, but got an entire education in the 30 min I was there about skins care and product that I had never heard before. This location is in the middle of traffic apocalypse for the area, however, once you get to the store, things do get better. Things feel a little cramped in here, maybe it's just me. The store was clean and in good order. I was able to go in, find a new hair dryer at a great price and get on out without a lot of fuss. They did let the line at checkout get a bit long before they called in reinforcements. I'm not really sure why they only had one gal checking on a Saturday afternoon, but there ya go. read more

Omg this cashier is SO RUDE TO ME! I am never ever going here ever again. I went in for a simple exchange for a different concealer color because the one I bought oxidized on my hand when I swatched it at the store. So when I saw how pink it turned when I got home, I decided to go back the next day to exchange it (brand new, never opened) since I already knew it was not my shade from looking at my hand swatch. My boyfriend drove me to the store and we were in a rush because we had errands to run so he parked outside of this Ulta store while I ran in with my receipt and the concealer to exchange. During my exchange the cashier asked if I wanted to donate a dollar for a chance to enter the big gift bag or $5 for an item on the shelf. I apologized to her and said "I'm sorry but I just wanted to do the exchange" and then she said to me in a very rude way "not even a dollar?!" OMG, what??? How can you say that to a customer? I did not even have my purse with me!! I feel so horrible and I told her "I'm sorry but I don't have cash with me" and the rest of the transaction was awkward with her death stare. When she finally finished the exchange she COMPLETELY messed it up. Instead of ringing up the new concealer that I wanted, she gave me my own concealer back. I had to point that out to her when she gave me the concealer and I told her "oh no you gave me the wrong one, I exchanged for the other color, this was the color I wanted to return" so she rudely handed me the other color and I asked "oh ok but the receipt is correct right?" Since I was in a rush I did not look at it and she said "yeah it is correct" Well guess what??? The receipt is INCORRECT. It saids that I return the color "medium light" and got "medium light" again... so here I am, as a customer, walked out with a UNRECORDED item. What if this shade does not match me? How may I return it? I feel like I walked out with a stolen item since the barcode does not match the codes on the receipt. I am extremely frustrated. Okay, I never am one to complain but here is my honest review. I dyed my hair at the salon 8 months ago and it was suppose to be blonde. It killed my hair, it was orange and the layers were God awful: I hated it so much, I decided never to go back there for my hair again. However a friend convinced me otherwise, I went today for again blonde, I have medium brown hair, my hair is not new to being dyed it shouldn't be that difficult. However I went in at 5:15 and stayed until 9:20! The lady got mad at my questions and does my hair light brown, there is no blonde what so ever, she could tell I was obvious upset but didn't offer to fix it. I wasted 160$ and that's not even including the tip. All the money down the drain for the wrong color and rude service... I am so disappointed. I WILL NOT be returning to an ulta salon, for it was by far my worst hair experience of my life. read more

I live in Katy and was working out in Pasadena. I decided to stop here to get some makeup. Excellent service by Ivette. I didn't know that Ulta did facials, she educated me and also did an exceptional job on my facial services that I decided to get done on the spot. Her hands are amazing she is friendly, very professional, and doesn't over sale the products like most estheticians. She told me what I needed and could skip. Ivette u are the best!!!!! read more

I'm glad that Best Buy could spare the space for this Ulta to set up shop next door, because the Fairmont area of Pasadena has been needing one! Although this location is a bit smaller than the one at Baybrook, it's laid out so well that I didn't even notice. Actually, I think they may even carry a few newer brands than the Baybrook store, too. The higher end cosmetics are at the right, complete with the Benefit bar and favorite brands including Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Laura Geller, and many others. All the other products are arranged very nicely as well, but the fragrance area is definitely the pièce de résistance! The format is much more open than the other locations that usually just have the perfume in the standard aisles. Here, it's an oval shape that showcases the bottles and is just a much nicer shopping experience. Then to the left are the drugstore brands and shampoo and haircare towards the back. Of course, everything is pristine right now, but I hope that the more compact style of this location will help the staff to keep everything looking nice in the future. The staff was also very helpful here, and the Benefit girl even gave my mom and I a coupon. Overall, my shopping experience at this new Ulta was excellent, and I'm so glad I don't have to drive to the Baybrook or Galleria locations as often! read more

Got my color done by Katelyn at the salon! I had a wonderful experience and couldn't be happier with my color! She was super sweet and friendly. I also had nioxin scalp treatment that was amazing! Everyone was nice and professional! I walked around the store and was asked a few times if I needed help which is great! I got help from a guy who I can't remember his name and he sent me to a girl to get Juice Beauty makeup and I left with a bunch of amazing new makeup! I will definitely be going back. I have never been much of a make up girl. My make up consisted of E.L.F primer, slightly winged liner and, mascara. I have visited this store twice between December 2016 and March of 2017, both times I was helped by the same associate Carol. She is the sweetest,most helpful, kind, personable person I have ever met ! She's very knowledgeable and is able help you figure out exactly what you need for what you want to do and will even show you how to do what you want to do, if you don't know! I went in for an appointment at the benefit brow bar, i was greeted by a nice girl named Ashley. She began working on my brows and asked me what shape i wanted them. She proceeded to wax them and honestly did the worst job ever. She waxed and then "plucked the extra hairs" but when she handed me the mirror i honestly could not believe my eyes. She had ruined them from the bottom and the top didn't even look touched, there were extra hairs all over the upper lid, which she has supposedly plucked. My eyebrows were very thick due to the fact that i had grown them out for a couple of months in order to get a fuller shape and she literally made them so thin. PLEASE DONT GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE HERE BY ASHLEY. She was also very rude when i told her i didn't like them and started saying that that isn't what they do?!and that their only purpose was to sell their product. I had heard great reviews about them from others but Ashely definitely didn't live up to the benefit standards. read more

Just left this store after I was accosted by the manager because his workers thought I was with some people who diverted merchandise. I have never been treated so horribly at a store. In essence, the manager before verifying anything or checking cameras made a faulty accusation. This is the first and last time I set foot in Ulta! I suppose because the alleged thiefs were Hispanic I must be with them by default. I have worked in retail and I know that workers cannot simply accost and accuse clients of theft. Shame on you sir for your lack of judgement, erroneous nature,and lack of tact . Shame on your corporate trainers that think this level of discrimination is permissible. You can keep your subpar service and merchandise. I'll take my business and the business of my those that listen to my experience elsewhere. And keep your forced "sorry" to explain your decisions and prejudices to your corporate office. read more

I recently got a KeraStraight in my hair and i was very unhappy. I have done it before at the Webster location and it was done correctly. The process takes between 3 to 4 hours to do. When I went into the Pasadena Ulta to get the Kerastraight I was very disappointed. The lady did mine in 2 hours, which resulted in my hair not looking different. She was in a hurry because they were short handed and because of that I paid $200 for my hair to look the exact same as it did before I went in there. Since I have had this before I know what my hair is suppose to look like and it was nothing like that. Then I go to get the shampoo and conditioner I am suppose to use and they only have the shampoo, which is poor management, in my opinion. People come in to get this in their hair but yet you don't have what they need to wash it. So I was going to have drive to the Webster office. I was very dissappointed at the Pasadena location. The workers have a different look than the ones in the Webster store. The Webster store is a lot better in my opinion for everything, especially getting your hair done. read more
