I made an appointment at the salon for a blowout with Cherri and the appointment was cancelled with no call explaining why. I called the salon and scheduled for the same day with Emily. Emily did an AMAZING job which is why I'm leaving three stars. I highly recommend her for a blowout + brow wax. Her service deserved five stars. The following weekend I made an appointment with Cherri as she was the only stylist available. I was called the morning of the appointment being notified that appointment was being cancelled because Cherri called out. I booked these appointments for special occasions, so it's super inconvenient for them to be cancelled. read more

Porterville Ulta hair salon employees are so ghetto. Made an appointment to cut my bangs and while we were waiting for my appointment with my child one of the employees kept cussing while doing someone's hair. Then Cherri L. Was my hair dresser and came out didn't greet me and didn't ask if I was waiting. Finally I see her just wasting time so I go up and she's extremely rude. I rarely like to leave reviews but this is a must, People check your pickup orders! and if you are missing something don't even think about returning to ask about your missing item!!! Sadly, this will be the last time I purchase products from Ulta. I bought close to $200 in items (13 in total) and did the curbside pick-up. The associate who took the order asked me to check my items. I quickly looked inside the bag and thought everything was there. When I returned to work I went through the items and one was missing, I returned to the store to let them know and was told by one of the managers by the name of Heather that if I checked my bag, I responded yes, but how do you check so many items simultaneously? She said this would be the only time they would give me the item, in a not-very-nice tone, the manager treated me like I was lying. I told them if they had cameras they should check them and see what was pulled by the associate that put my order together. I decided to take the loss but on the way home I decided that it was better to return everything, I returned right away and they told me they could not take it back till 24 hours had passed. I happily returned today to take them all back. (Sadly Ulta kept my money for missing item my loss : ( Went next door to Khol's Sephora and got all my stuff, nice friendly associates, very helpful answered all my questions. Now I have read some reviews on here seems I'm not the only one who has run into issues with Heather the manager. I see the responses from "Business Customer Service" At Ulta Beauty, after each review, they usually respond "We have forwarded the details of your experience to the manager of the Porterville store." Went to Ulta to try to find a moisturizer, and sadly I didn't find the one I was going to buy (OleHenriksen)! BUT I did ask for a recommendation of a good moisturizer with a good tint and I was directed to a Clinique moisturizer surge one! The plus side of this motorizer was that it also has SPF 25. The girl there was extremely helpful and even helped me color match one that blended with my skin. I ended up walking out with the moisturizer and some benefit mascaras. It was a smooth trip because I asked for help. Or else I would have walked out with the wrong moisturizer. Thank you, ladies!! read more

Y'alllll don't sleep on Alyssa, she's the best beauty adviser! Not a lot of people can find the right foundation for me and she did such an amazing job! She tried the Clinique Even Better foundation on me and matched my skin tone pretty well. And let me tell you- a little goes along way and it's really light weight on my face. All I got told was " the girl in charge is not here". Okay well while she is gone someone should cover her spot instead of telling customers they can't do a simple curbside pickup. I'm not surprised this store has such negative reviews. Coming here for the first time, I realized that everyone who works here, hates working here. They are not friendly, and all they do is sit around and talk crap about other people and gossip. When I went to get my eyebrows done, I literally waited til 4 of them were done talking to let them know I was there for my appointment. I guess they might of not been done because I got nasty looks from them for interrupting them. The store overall is messy!!! I'm not sure if they don't watch their customers open the products, or accept and restock opened products, but it's disgusting. No one wants to purchase opened products. I decided to give this store another chance today, I called to book an appointment, was left on hold for 10 minutes, someone picked up and hung up on me. I called again as I was in the store and got out on hold again, and the chick that went to "check" if there were appointments available (as if they were busy at all), didn't even check and hung up on me. So I stopped by to shop and grab a gift card and brought in an empty Starbucks bottle and empty bag of chips I picked up in the parking lot that was thrown. I asked for their trash can to throw it and was advised that they do not have one for the public! wHAT!?!?? I asked the lady "you don't throw away trash?" If I could give ZERO stars I would. Ulta has amazing products, but the customer service is horrible. The manager is not too bad but all of the rest. Most people know that the people who work at makeup stores in small towns think they're the greatest thing. I got my eyebrows waxed by a floor employee.... she ripped my skin off.. I had scabs for a week.

I went into ulta to get help with what I should use for primer/foundation. When I asked about what I should use for my smile lines and creases, a man that worked there said the only thing that would help is to get Botox, that was his only recommendation unfortunately. It was very discouraging and upsetting. And then the foundation that they matched for me didn't match my skin at all and I had to go back and return it. read more
