This rating is in reference to the cancelation process. After taking a moment out of a busy schedule to cancel an upcoming appointment at EWC, days ahead of time (confirmed by Melissa). I feel this is not only an obligation on my part but it's courtesy and I don't mind. Although, after having done so. I later learned the appointment never got canceled. Which indicated the courtesy call was of no value, as well as being ignored and having to correct the schedule a second time. EWC Wax technicians are great and I always appreciate the professionalism. However, I feel the receptionist duty is an important factor in the process of continuing great customer service. Greetings should be genuine and professional at all times, which should include becoming efficient with information given/received to and from customers. There appears to be a lacking and should be addressed. read more

Very clean place, welcoming staff was nice. I came in for a Brazilian promo 50% off for your first one. Mind you the last time I had one, 2-3 years ago so I'm aware how the process goes (aware ppl do it differently too). My waxer was nice but the service wasn't the best. She left a lot of hair, I had to ask my bf to help me shaved it off. In top of that it was still sticky and smelled very weird down there. It has never smelled like that (bf also reassured me). She went over the skin that was already waxed a few times, the wax was so hot it left my skin irritated. She did very big strips that were painful. I wish it was a better experience for me to come back but that's not going to happen. read more

Usually have great experience with European wax center. I understand I was late with my appointment, my travel time is about 25mins, but I called prior to going to my appt if they'll still take me if I'm within the grace period. Person on the phone said yes, as they stated "as long as you're in the grace period" got there with 1min left on grace period and was told in person that the waxer could still see me. Minutes go by then they change their mind decided that I came after the grace period. Person on the phone should've told me no from the jump so I didn't waste an hour of my time read more

I was an eyebrow threading type of girl until one night I desperately needed my eyebrows cleaned up before an important interview the next day. I stumbled upon the European Wax Center on Yelp and gave them a call. They were more than accommodating even though I didn't have an appointment and it was about 30 mins before they closed but they squeezed me in! The gal up front and the esthetician who did my eyebrows were soo nice and inviting! When I land this job, I will go back and pay for a yearly eyebrow pass! My experience getting waxed was so relaxing and therapeutic, I will never go back to pain of threading! I enjoyed myself at their waxing center so much that I would even considering getting my bikini line done some day! I trust them to be gentle and nonjudgmental! Thank you ladies! So, this place is a chain and this location just opened up a few months ago. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but the place is as clean as it looks and smells. 1. I booked my appointment over a month ago. However this past week I was called and notified there was a scheduling error and that they couldn't accommodate me. I was PISSED...but they performed service recovery by squeezing me in AND making this visit complimentary (although I later realized your first visit is free anyway). However, the scheduling snafoo made me a bit leery and I was also concerned with them being a chain how the service would be anyway as I hadn't been to any of their locations previously. 2. My last wax I tried a new location in Fresno (Gorgeous Salon). While the two ladies who assisted me were extremely nice and on the surface the place is clean, when I entered the room, it just wasn't clean. The robe they have u put on looked dirty, there was wax all outside the wax holder with a wood wax stick sticking out of it and the lid half off half on. But I was like, I'm here now let's just get it over with. Well, it was obvious they are not the most experienced, while it wasn't too painful, they kept going over the same places multiple times to the point my skin was peeling as time progressed after my service. In their defense they did try to be thorough in removing hairs as they also used tweezers. Also after I finished the lady was putting the supplies away and a wax removing paper fell on the floor and she picked it off the floor and put in back in the basket with the rest of the clean ones. 3. I share the above details because this experience was the total opposite. You are warmly greeted at the front desk, come in to a nice ambiance and clean location. As you pass the front desk, you come to a hallway with private suites. My technician today was Ali and she was just the best! Very good at what she does, super friendly, clean, and thorough as well. I also like that they make it a point to clean in front of you so you are certain it's done each time - Ali removed the paper from the table and sanitized the table after we were done. I can say this is one of the best waxing experiences I've ever had. 4. I also purchased some of their products and the front desk staff were kind enough to give me some samples as well and it's the small things that matters that can make your experience just that much better. As I cashed out the lady walked my items around to me and held the door open as I left. Small detail, but, you don't get this kind of service too often. I hope you all continue to provide this level of customer service! If I'm back in the area I'll definitely be booking here so go check them out! Oh! They also use a special wax that makes it easier to pull the hairs (NO paper!!!)! It definitely makes a difference! read more

Came in for my first Brazilian and was assisted with professional staff all around. The first time process was simple and easy. Receptionist was very professional and so sweet, answered so many of my questions and set my appt over the phone. Arrival of my appointment I was impressed with the warm welcome even tho I was shaking....Hahaha... Lucy was my wax specialist who came out to greet me and take me back to her wax room. The vibe was great. She was awesome. I chatted her ears off due to the nervousness in me. But she really made sure I was comfortable an aware of the process in what she was doing. These people are brave to do this job, since they are so "in your personal space". I am so excited for the next appt and highly recommend Lucy. Even the receptionist helped me pick out one for my first time. If you've never gotten a Brazilian, get one before this summer heat and not worry about razor bumps!. Also forgot to mention the product, omg! A must have after you leave! I got the lotion to have that extra smoothness and it's fragrance free. Very clean and nice.. Ariel made my experience with them nice, easy, and comfortable. When the wax was too warm, she immediately stopped, turned it off/down, and adjusted so I was more comfortable. I would recommend her very much. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars was the manager (unfortunately, I did not get her name). The card I tried to use had not been activated and was declined. She then said it was a fraudulent card, and she demanded she needed the card. Instead of asking if I had other forms of payment, she made me feel like I had done something wrong. There was not an apology made, once the payment was completed. Unfortunately, I felt really bad walking out, and am unsure if I will return. read more

The place is clean and looks professional. Front desk ladies were great. Super friendly, excellent customer service. My waxer was great also (so I thought). I was so impressed with the the service that I even scheduled my husband to come in. The two star rating is for left over wax that wasn't cleaned off, hairs that were missed , and most importantly, brows that were shaped improperly. It was explained clearly on how to "clean" the brows but the waxer took it upon herself to do what she thought was best. She took way too much off. Two waxers , 4 services , don't think we will come back again. It's actually great that people don't know about this place. It looks like they have many inexperienced waxers. read more

I recently had a service, in which I left a review after my experience. My experience was literally, horrifying.. The manager (IRENE), called me confronting me in regard to my recent review per my visit. This is the same exact lack of professionalism Bri (waxer), exemplified during my visit with my legs spread open on the table. During the call, I was advised my concerns would be expressed to the owner after I was told I was no longer welcome for services. I highly recommend Alyssa at EWC in Visalia. This was my first experience with waxing, other than eyebrows, so I was very anxious to get a bikini wax. Alyssa immediately put me at ease with her friendly chit chat. She explained each step of the process as it was happening, and she anticipated my questions before they were voiced. I expected a high level of embarrassment due to the intimate nature of the service, but Alyssa's calm professional manner helped alleviate that. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I'm truly disappointed. It was supposed to be my first visit back postpartum so you can imagine the EXCITEMENT. I was ready to feel amazing again and a little like myself. Sadly, I live in a town about 30 minutes away. As I was driving, I noticed the time and the traffic (it was rush hour) so I decided to phone the center since it was my first time being late. The receptionist informed me of a 9 min late policy. I knew I would make it but just BARELY. My appt was scheduled for 5:45 and I walked in at 5:53 (I was very aware of the time). I was checked in by 5:54. I even made a comment about it...the receptionist told me I would have to reschedule. I explained I drove from very far just for this appt. I was in the center checked in by 5:54. And unfortunately they turned me away. I got back in my car with no argument and drove the 30 minutes back home. I have never experienced something like this. It's truly upsetting, sad to say I don't think I'll be returning. read more
