The service at this Ulta on 6/14/2023 was great. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in & an employee got to me as soon as she could when I was ready to checkout. The store seems to have a similar layout to most that I have been to. Which leads me to a star knocked off... they were out of stock in a couple of items I was searching for. Still, they had my birthday freebie in stock. Plus the young lady at said register reminded me I had a $10 off coupon. It's located in a plaza sort of near the Santa Fe Plaza Mall. Parking is free. Be vigilant getting in and out of your vehicle and keep it locked at all times. read more

Ashley was so helpful, kind, and patient. I had to find the right concealer, color match a lipstick that was discontinued, get an eyebrow pencil, and more and she helped me with all of those things in such a timely manner. I have been shopping at this Ulta for many years now. I have never received and seen such terribly customer service. Every single person was rude, from the manager to the cashier. Then when I checked out, I had to ask for my free gift as well as to use my points. The rude cashier seemed irritated that I asked to use my $3.50 coupon. RUDE...RUDE ....RUDE. I have never ever been to such a RUDE and unhelpful ULTA. The women who work there want to do the bare minimum to get there job done. I had asked about a price that seemed incorrect most ULTA's would say "let me check that for you" and be super friendly...this one the little girl with the way too overdrawn eyebrows just stared at me...until I said "can you check that price"...she then slowly moved to get the walkie talking and then her manager moved slower than molasses to come to the front...at least I know where the cashier received her poor training... I struggle greatly to find good things to say about MOST Ulta locations, but that is NOT the case with this one. Stopped in to pick up a few items. We were greeted promptly, offered assistance multiple times (one nice associate even looked in several locations to find the item I requested and did a price check for me.) The store was in good shape. Clean and bright and I was able to find what I needed. Checkout was quick and seamless. Wish the Ulta locations near me were half as good! read more

This store used to be very nice and staff was helpful. Now it's full of rude employees. They are more concerned about gossiping with each other instead of helping customers. Which is probably the reason why so many high end makeup gets stolen. It never fails that I see empty boxes on the rack. It's a shame that this place just went downhill. I also don't understand why the lock the doors in the middle of business hours? Get new managers and staff with positive helpful attitudes. The only good employee is the facial technician. First of all, I love that we actually have a nice beauty store in Santa Fe. I love quality make up products and have no problem spending my money on them. However, the service at Ulta is horrid. The customer service is terrible. Once, the manager who rang me up forgot to put a couple of my products in the bag, which I didn't notice until I got to the car. When I went back inside she acted super irritated at me and basically let me know she didn't believe me. I guess she thought I was trying to score free products. Turns out, she dropped them on the floor behind the counter and didn't notice. No apologies. Just rudely handed them to me without making eye contact and went about helping the next person. I was so happy when Ulta came to Santa Fe, at last. The store is new, fresh, clean, and well organized. So, why the 2-star review? I had very good results with highlights at Ulta Salons in Phoenix and Sandy, UT. So I decided to give the new Santa Fe Ulta salon a try. I've been getting my hair "frosted" (old terminology) and highlighted for many years. My visit to this salon resulted in the worst highlights I've ever received. I asked for a platinum color and gave very precise directions to the young stylist about how my hair requires 2 separate applications of color to achieve the right results. When the time came to wash the first color out and apply the second round, the stylist was busy with another customer so she asked another stylist to finish the color. They debated what color to apply for the second application. The results were a mousy-ashy brown color, far far from the platinum I had specified. AND the charge was very high, considering my very short hair that didn't even require color at the back neck. Thank goodness they were running a 25% off sale on color services or I would've blown my stack. I will not return to Ulta Santa Fe for hair services again. I got much better results at the Aveda beauty school in Albuquerque for much less than half the price. read more

This is the most disapoionting store for customer service. Most of my visits, there has only been one person on the register & one on the floor...and they are all rude. When I asked for help finding a color-match (in a low-cost brand), no one came. The only thing I ever find there is ATTITUDE. Fortunately, I just experienced the Sephora in the JC Penney in Santa Fe Place Mall & now have no reason to go through the ULTA experience. Ulta has a variety of beauty products and they range from drugstore brands to higher end brands. I have been a client of the hair salon for several years and appreciate the level of professionalism I receive from Lili and Alicia in the hair salon. What I don't appreciate is the rude condescending behavior I had to endure last night from Larissa. She verbally attacked me when I did not do the survey at the register and implied that it would negatively affect my stylist. She ignored my request to use my rewards credit (to busy berating me for not doing survey). When I saw my total I repeated my request to use points. I did ask her why she felt the need to treat me so rudely as this is the third time I've been treated like this. I will continue to use this salon as I love the service I receive in the salon, but will avoid any interaction with Larissa or purchasing any product at this store. read more

Bought a Smashbox Lip Gloss only to find out after I got home that it was a used, empty, dry product. When I called the store, the lady said "oh just bring it in and we'll replace it." Were in the times of CoVid, had I used the product and gotten the virus was of no concern to them. When we went in the manager was so rude, she said they have no control over what customers do to their products, she said they also don't check what they sell, and I actually think she said she "didn't care". This store makes me feel like I'm in a 3rd World county. The shelves are never fully stocked. The samples are not taken care of - many are broken or missing. The last couple of times I've been in the store was dirty. The bathroom is a mess - the toilet paper holder was broken. And don't get me started on the people that work there. If you can find one that isn't rude or on their phones then they won't be knowledgeable about the product. The hair salon...,well I just paid $50 for a cut I hate because the stylist spent more time talking about her boyfriend and trying to convince me to add peach color to my hair than paying attention to me. Plus - I told her I had a sensitive scalp and she still used a ton of products that have left me an itchy mess. I got a better cut at Great Clips for $18. I was so excited when Ulta opened here in Santa Fe - but I've been let down. Corporate should close this one - it's making them look bad (not to mention how bad some of those high end products look) I keep trying to like this Ulta - but they won't let me. I'm used to all that, but today my girlfriend came home upset because she could tell the employees were watching her because a product she was looking at went missing. Very disappointed, I went to the salon and clearly asked for just a trim. I indicated that: 1. I hate short hair 2. I hate layers 3. I hate crooked hair I am trying to grow out my hair and did NOT want inches taken off. I only wanted a baby trim. I have very curly hair and having layers and short hair only makes my hair harder to maintain. Its critical for me to have long hair, it helps the curl stretch out. The hair dresser did not listen to my request, cut my hair short, took off length, added more layers, and cut my hair uneven. When a customer is paying good money for a service, the request should be honored. Very sad and heartbroken!!! :( read more

The cashiers could use some more "spirit" in them but they're not awful either. The three stars are solely for those kind folk, and the stellar deals that ULTA anywhere rolls out. The reasoning behind the subtraction of two stars, is because like others have mentioned...the upkeep with the displays suck. It's either missing or broken. So not very helpful to someone trying to figure out what they want/need. I've seen cleaner, better looking Ulta's. I am stuck buying my hair products at this ulta. I'm a diamond member and this counts for nothing except getting a few extra points. I made an appt o line to have my hair colored and cut a month and a half ago. I even got a phone call from someone named Alicia that was going to be the stylist. She left a message asking me questions regarding what I was looking to do. I called and she wasn't in so I left a message for this Alicia person telling her what exactly I wanted to have done. My appointment was for today. I walk in and try to check in and I'm told I don't have an appointment. Seriously?!!! I even showed her the text messages I was getting reminding me of my appointment. All this person could say is sorry and that they've been having problems with their online appointments. If that's the case why is the Alicia person calling me and why am I receiving text messages!!!! A waited a month and a half for this dang appointment and all I get is the short end of the stick and now have to figure out what I'm going to do about my hair! Shame on you ulta and shame on this person I tried to check in with. Absolute disregard for my time and unapologetic. It's online shopping for me now foe my hair products for now on!! read more

She was patient, gave lots of helpful advice, and threw in a dye treatment which I am totally pleased with. In terms of the employee's very few know where products are, what they are used for and can't be counted on for an opinion. She was dismissed wholesale when she tried to use a coupon which was completely valid, in store and online, within the date stated. What is wrong with these people?
