I told this lady I only wanted to get what needed to be cut off. She cuts four inches after she literally told me to my face that I only needed two and then showed me what I needed. If you have fine hair do not come here. The only lady who could do my hair well left. You also told me my hair was healthy. What my hair was almost down to my elbows. The manager on shift was not helpful. At the cashier desk, the sweet girl saw that my two mascaras were not ringing up to the value I had taken a photo of on my phone while I was shopping. She politely called the manager over, and when posed with the question as to why the BAD Girl Mascara large + mini was not ringing up at the advertised value; the manager gave a very confused look. She shook her head as of the advertisement shouldn't have been posted and it was a mistake... She asked me to take her where the advertisement was. She explained that it was a kit, but that her store did not have it in stock. Or possibly at all. It was clear that her store did not carry the duo together, because there was not a slot/bar code for a duo kit. She then said she could not honor it if I bought two together because she couldn't mess with the "skew" number. Horrible way to run a business, I didn't feel like fighting her on my day off. While I LOVE Ulta... I HATE this location. I've to give this location a chance... many times. Between the managers being out right rude and unhelpful and how the store is never organized/clean. I don't understand it. I've been coming to Ulta for years! I'm a diamond member of 5 years. The loyalty status means nothing in a store like this that is being ran by managers that don't care. Anytime I have a question or can't find something NO ONE wants to help. Today was the first time some attempted to help me and she shared it was her 3rd day. She couldn't really help me because she didn't have a key to open the draw but shortly after I asked an old woman and he just said "we don't have that" and walked away. Please. Please. Please. I went to the Slidell location and it seems every time I go none of the employees are helpful. They do greet you when you walk in. If you purchase a brand that offers free gift they hope you don't notice and when you ask they tell you sorry we are all out and offer nothing else. After a year of regrowth from almost no hair Ana 7 months of no color i went in for hilights a full color Ana a thin and texture. I wanted a ginger base with lighter ginger hilights ended up darker than what I went in with and uneven highlights. They are your typical beauty store. The selection of beauty products they have to choose from is very large. The store is very nice and very organized, huge parking lot. As far as trying to find a store associate to help with matching your shade of makeup to a product. Good luck. I walked by two before having to ask a third one for help. And when I did get help she was talking back and forth on the headset she had on to the other employees. I understand that's how they communicate but I had my son who was being very impatient and I was trying to hurry up and get a color match with the make up and get some suggestions but the lady just told me to hold on she was talking to another employee. She apologized for that but was in such a rush to get over to her other employee she didn't suggest any other products for me to buy and I asked her a question about an additional product and she basically just said "it's a bronzer" which was hardly the answer I was looking for. After getting my makeup I walked over to the register and noticed the same lady talking to another employee about her night last night. First time ever in Ulta Beauty. Not familiar with the store set up or location of products. I immediately asked for assistance from a middle to older aged lady, dirty blonde, clothed in a knee length "white" medical jacket, who appeared to be arranging items on a shelf. I asked her for assistance but was I was ignored. She was arranging cosmetics located to the right of the store at the entrance. Remember, this is my FIRST time in Ulta Beauty, so I had no idea that the doctor, I mean the cosmetic lady didn't do perfume! However, there was a nice young girl that did assist me, she even tried to blend smells to my liking. I didn't find what I was looking for and ultimately amazed and perplexed by the rude behavior of the lady in the "white" medical jacket. I'm still wondering; why was a doctor arranging cosmetics? I can only conclude that she was not a doctor and worked for the cosmetic company of which she was arranging cosmetics. Sort of insulting to those that work hard and go to school to wear that "white" medical jacket and even more, the audacity of her to be so rude in such prestigious attire. She really made that jacket look cheap and unprofessional. My thoughts as I left the store.; How dare she? Nevertheless, there was only one person in the whole store willing to assist me - there's no need for me to spend my money there. As for the older lady In the white medical jacket you could use more people/customer training, I was standing less than 4 feet from her when I asked for help. Ulta Beauty should think about developing a new policy that doesn't allow cosmetic staff to walk around in a medical coat that requires so much more education than that of a cosmetics stacker! I understand that cosmetics require a great deal of chemistry and calculations, but I'm sure, if she was the person writing/mixing/testing the formula she would not be the same person stacking cosmetics! This store is convenient and nice to have the option here in Slidell but it really needs a variety of sales people. The current staff are adorable, don't get me wrong but their average age seems to be 25. The sales people here all sport a very trendy, fun look and I am sure are experienced with all current make up trends but are extremely unknowedgable with makeup for older, professional women. read more

This review is for Karli at the Benefit Brow Bar in Ulta. I've had two consecutive appointments with her and both were 5-star experiences. I came in after a local nail salon butchered my eyebrow wax. I let my brows grow out wild and put Karli up to the task to tame them. I truly appreciate how she asked questions about the shape I wanted and then mapped out the look before diving in. After she finished she applied concealer and filled them in (only if you want) for a finished look. I will continue to make appointments with Karli for my brows. You should definitely make an appointment. (Bonus! You can leave a tip at the cashier counter on your card when you pay.) read more

I know the young lady doing my hair was right out of beauty school with no experience but the prices are for seasoned stylist!!! I wondered in here after my hair dresser got sick and cancelled on me. I had tried having my hair dyed darker at several places and it would not take. After a week it kept turning back blonde. I went to ulta and they explained my hair needed a filler and dye. The process was long, really long but the results lasted. My hair has lightened a bit but over two months not one week. Stylist was new but the manager consulted and lingered in the background. I have gotten my hair done at The Salon twice so far and I have to say it was a great experience! My stylist Kristen is young and very eager to make you happy. On one visit I got home and decided the next morning that maybe I need a little tweaking to my color that she had done the night before. I called the salon and was told that she was not in and offered an appointment for the next day she was in. I explained that I had an event and really needed to get it done that day. Another stylist put me on her book and offered to help me. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and Kristen came in on her day off to fix it for me. She was so sweet and took care of everything for me! I highly recommend The Salon at Ulta. Very easy to book an appointment and convenient times for busy people. I always go at 5:30 on a Friday. How convenient is that?! read more

Stay away from the salon!!! Go somewhere else and save your money. I am not sure what the lady cut off my hair, took less than 10 min. to cut hair that is extremely long with layers and no hair on the floor except a few pieces of my bangs. I got color but it was only half a completed job. The lady put color on my hair without combing through or washing out the color. She put the color on by smearing it around then blowed out my hair, styled it, and told me to wash it in 48 hours. She kept my back to the mirror so that I could not even see the color she was smearing on my hair. We chose a color together but having dark hair with hi-lites already, I would have liked to seen the result of the color on a sample piece first. Instead, I walked out with color on my skin, around my hair line and if I touched my hair my fingers turned the color of they dye. I have never in my life been told hair color needed to stay on for 48 hours before I could wash it out. I went home and washed it out and the results are 50 shades of reds. TERRIBLE color job, hair cut was miraculously done without any hair strands falling on the floor, and of course the price was outrageous for something I had to complete at home. As for products shop around, many places have the same products for half the price. Most of the drug stores have the same brands as well as many other "hair or makeup" retail stores are a lot cheaper. read more
