Winvian is very private, You can't just stroll in. Reservations are necessary, and you'll need to get buzzed in. You'll find TALC in the ingredients in about every pressed powder item. TALC is a known carcinogen. Yes, you heard that right, associated with cancer. Talc is mined from the earth as a stone and is found adjacent to ASBESTOS, a known cancer-causing agent. These two stones are pulled out of the earth with big machines, grinding the gravel, which becomes intermixed with TALC. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to separate the two. When asbestos is in your house, the excavators come in hazmat suits, sealing doors and windows, and anything that came in direct contact with it MUST be pulled out and discarded as a controlled substance. And you ladies have been patting this under your eyes and around your face. Asbestos cannot be separated from the Talc in pressed powders, loose powders, lipsticks, eyeshadow, eyebrow powders, and eyebrow pens. No man would accept this and buy it. We women have to get smart. Look up your products at home on the website Environmental Work Group, ewg.com, under cosmetics. Read your labels. Ulta is a better source for cosmetics and is conveniently located inside JCPenney. By the way, CVS and other pharmacies say cosmetics can be returned, BUT NOT IF YOU TRIED THEM, so there is no advantage to buying in a pharmacy. So go to Ulta. They have better products, good prices, TESTERS, and a shop attendant who will cater to your every whim to match your correct colors. Lets stand up for eachother ladies. Happy shopping.

And comparing Hair Saloon and my little reliable shop... the phrase I would use is you get what you pay for. The quality Brianna and Danielle exposed to me to is something I would never turn my back on now that I've had a taste of it. When I walked into the salon, which shares a little building with a nail salon next door, my nervous little self was greeted with warm smiles and welcomes. I was given a little tour of the cafe/bar side, and then the section where the actual magic begins. Seeing as how they've open during the height of COVID, they're still very infection control friendly! The chairs in the cutting/stying section are more than generously six feet apart, and the chairs by the washing station are separated by clear screens. 10/10 for cleanliness because you see these other businesses and since late 2021, you know hygiene has definitely been thrown out the window. You know you're dishing out a little more $ when there's massage chairs during the hair wash. In my head I was just wow'd because Chinatown could never lol. Brianna was great during the wash. One thing I have to commend them for is the communication step-by-step. She asked me my preferences in shampoo, and I usually opt for products that offer volume, so she introduced me to R&Co, which was pretty much *the* brand that was used on me throughout my appointment. I really appreciated how she explained the different types of shampoo they used and who would benefit from what. The shampoo, the hair serum, and hair spray I'm pretty sold on because I'm that person who's always looking for the next best thing when it comes to hair and face products. Now Danielle. You are the GOAT. Thank you for showing me what it's like to be well taken care of as a client. There is something in that customer service of yours that feels so warm and it's like, of course the business would be 5 stars on here! I asked the pharmacist if he had any "high dose" flu shots for seniors. He said yes. Then, "The best thing to do is to go online and schedule an appointment online" It wasn't busy. Rather than make appointments then and there, I was told to go "online". With a few hiccups on the website, I made our appointments online. We arrived for a 3:30 appointment on time. We checked in at the register and were told to take a seat. AFTER waiting for MORE THAN 35 Minutes , I approached the pharmacist to explain that we had arrived on time at 3:30. "Yes, yes, I've got it right here, please have a seat. 5 minutes later the shot was administered. In the meantime, two people came in after us who had not made appointments and they signed in at the register. Hey were not told that they needed to schedule online. Bottom line - we waited 40 minutes for an appointment that had been booked and confirmed. This is not acceptable. The store wasn't very busy, but our service was poor. We may very well never return.
