This review is only on the store portion - I have no experience with the pharmacy. The store is a generic Walgreens - it has everything other Walgreens in the area has and basically in the same places. I went in for a baby shower gift bag, and was so pleased to find a perfect one. Their Hallmark bag selection had different designs and styles, they totally came through. The employees were very nice, and the store was really quiet and (temperature wise) cool. The parking lot was pretty large, although getting in and out takes patience if there's high traffic. Avoid turning right to get out! read more

Save yourself a lot of grief about going to this Walgreens. If you need urgent meds, or any med, they could care less. they have 3 employees when 6 or 7 are needed. I went to CVS, they are professional and prompt. One of Walgreens cashiers left me at the register to take a personal call! Run, run, run! read more

Prescriptions are never ready when you arrive even when they leave a phone message saying the RX is ready to be picked up. Lines are long and pharmacy seems understaffed. More attention to customer service would be appreciated. read more

worst pharmacy ever nothing is ever ready when they say it will be the lines are ridiculous they don't inform you when they are out of a medication and when did it become my responsibility to call other walgreens in the state to track down the medication but thats the only way my mother could get it. In a community where the residents are primarily elderly they deserve better than this.Home delivery is a total joke weve been trying for over two years to make that happen the manager we spoke to says it's because even though the bag is earmarked for delivery that the staff isn't capable of reading that and it wines up in the the regular alphabet bins. read more

Woefully understaffed, different faces in the pharmacy every time I pick up meds. Always a long wait at the drive thru and inside at the pharmacy counter too. Nice enough people working the pharmacy, I feel bad for them as they are clearly stressed by not having enough people. Will tell you your prescription will be ready tomorrow, then when you show up, you get "it is being worked on, come back in 20 minutes". Might as well just drive around the building and get back in line because it will take 30 by the time you get back to the drive thr window. Wll be switching pharmacies. read more

I agree with the other reviewer if I could give a zero I would!!! It should be illegal the way this healthcare facility is operated. No one picks up the phone. Ever. When they do on the rare occurrence no one wants to do a job. Not 'their' job ... NO JOBS. They tell YOU to do their job by calling your doctor/insurance and after you do they still tell you "I don't know." Wtf?! Everytime I go to the pharmacy there's 5-6 people working. Way more than the other pharmacies. I am switching pharmacies even though it's therapeutically better to have all your meds at one place so interactions can be checked more effectively!! Will definitely be reporting this place to DCP read more

Floyd Tomlinson, Jane is great ,pharmacist with beard is great. The rest of the crew is the blind leading the blind. They call and say your prescription is ready at a time. When you arrive at the time they told you they say come back in 2HRS.Then they say it is not ready for some issue,Should have been resolved BEFORE they say it is ready come and get it.The staff has no clue and could care less. Understaffed workers tell customers incorrect information ,standard Practice Worst of the worst, moving my business Total clown show and they could care less. read more

I'm giving this two stars instead of one because Jane works here and she is lovely and I do not want this review to reflect poorly on her. I have not had bad customer service with the workers per say (I also feel bad for them working with the tough crowd of Southbury) but there always seems to be some sort of issue with my prescriptions. They say that they don't have it, and I call my doctor and they have to tell me to tell them what date it was sent over. They've said they have no record of a medication refill that I've been taking for years. They call saying my medication is ready, and it's not. They've given me the wrong amount of tablets multiple times due to simple miscounting. One time, they almost gave me a medication that was under my name that a doctor never prescribed me. I just told them it wasn't mine. I have no idea what happened to it. Unfortunately, I will most likely be switching pharmacies. I never had so many issues when I was at Woodbury Pharmacy, and I have given Walgreens ample time to improve, as Woodbury Pharmacy has been closed for quite some time now. read more

If I could give this pharmacy 0 stars I would. Nearly every time I have been you wait in line for 30 minutes just to be told that the prescription isn't ready, and it will be another 30 minutes. I'd understand the wait if it was a new prescription drop off but I have experienced this with refills and partial prescription's owed to me. The staff is incredibly unpleasant! Worst customer service I've ever seen. They should be ashamed of themselves, especially since they serve such an elderly demographic. read more

If I could give a pharmacy 0 stars i absolutely would. Pharmacist that was working at 6:30pm on Monday 1/22/2024 was extremely rude and bitter. I got new insurance which seemed to piss her off off the bat and I could not pick up my prescription without prior authorization from my doctor due to the new insurance. She was incredibly rude about this and seemed annoyed i was even there. Not to mention this could have all been avoided if I had gotten a notification that something was wrong with my prescription or that it was not ready to pick up. There was 0 indication that I would have any issue picking it up tonight and they completely wasted my time AND were extremely rude about it AS IF I should have just known that was the case. I wish I told that pharmacist up yours. It's the end of the day on a Monday not just for you ma'am. Sorry you're too bitter and miserable to do your job but try not to take it out on the customers just trying to get their medication. To be clear it was the older woman not the younger one who seemed nice. read more

Don't use this pharmacy for blood clotting medicine. I have had problems twice, once several years ago and this past week. I had to drive to Hartford today to get my son's medicine from another Walgreen's associated with Hartford Hospital. They told me all pharmacies should have this medicine in stock. This pharmacy asked me if I needed the medication filled. It costs $2,700 and slows down bleeding that occurs with my sons blood clotting disorder. I use fast pay at this location so they shouldn't have a problem charging my credit card. The charge after my insurance would have been $175. I guess it was too difficult for them to deal with their supplier because they kept blaming the supplier. I wonder what the real issue is??? Was it our last name? One thing is sure, I will never step in that Walgreens again. I am done. I will remove fast pay and close my account. I am done. read more

Wonderful experience with the pharmacy! My daughter's prescriptions are usually complicated, but I believe the staff they have now do a great job getting her prescriptions taken care of! We enjoy shopping the seasonal section and finding fun little items as treats for the kids other than candy :) The staff is always pleasant and friendly and helpful! read more

I came here looking for something that will help me to get over this congestion that has been lingering and wouldn't go away. Since it was close to where we were shopping, we stopped in. I was very happy with my experience. The store is very clean and organized. I looked in the aisle I needed for my ailment. I picked what I wanted and went to the counter to pay. The pharmacist went one step further and asked me questions about my ailment and said that what I picked would help but for the other symptoms that another product would help as well with it. I took his advice and I am happy to report that his expertise finally helped me to get better. It is nice to know that there are still pharmacies like this around where you can get professional advice that actually works! read more

This pharmacy has gone down hill. The people who work here now don't care at all. Customer service here is awful. Here's one of several stories that has finally made me angry enough to share and to never use them again. I went to this pharmacy to pick up a prescription. The total was $140 for two things. I asked why so much and was told one item was over the counter and my insurance would only pay a small amount on it. So I bought the prescription. But as I got home I could not stop thinking about why it was so much. So I called. The manager said they had another alternative the person at the counter should have told me about. She then said she had some coupon she could provide to me and I should come back and get it next time I am in. I asked if I should come back now. She said no that I could come back any time. So two weeks later I came in and the less than helpful person at the counter, who seemed troubled to even be having to talk to me, said I needed to come in last week. That the offer is no good now. No offer to ask someone else. No concern of any kind. I am done with this pharmacy. That's the last dime I will ever give to a Walgreens. read more

I just need to let you know your Southbury CT pharmacy is horrendous. Three times your pharmacy staff have referred me to CVS because they do not have the prescriptions in stock. They have permission to text my phone and have NEVER called to tell me they don't have it in stock. So I waste my time going there to pick it up to find out I have to go to CVS. But of course I get the wonderful option to wait 3 days for a prescription for my newborn....THREE DAYS?! Unreal. Next time I won't even wait to get a Walgreens staff member to tell me I can go to CVS- I will go there in the first place now on. read more
