I love that Ulta has curbside now. Since the Covid shutdown, I avoid crowded anything. Today was to stop by and pick up my daughter's skincare items. Ulta made placing my order online and picking up very quick and easy. I parked at curbside, checked in through my email and minutes later a younger girl came to my car and asked for ID. I'm not sure why she opened my bag/broke the seal to show me my items. I know what I ordered and that didn't sit right with me. Came in for some products and I was able to find them easily. They were out of one thing but it wasn't a big deal. The store was well organized and clean. Most staff were helpful. My only critique is that the cashier could have been a bit friendlier, however; she may just have been having an off day. I love that was have both an Ulta and Sephora in sparks! read more

It gets to a point you guys and i'm not sure if it's the managers doing or just weird associates who can't get the point. Thank you for asking if i needed help but once is enough, i don't need you to follow me around the store incase i do need something, i can easily go find you or another associate. Another 5 star shopping experience at Ulta. So again, I popped in to get some make-up, lashes, hair stuff, lipstick....and guess who came up to help me? Kaelyn, Merchandise Service Coordinator. The same Kaelyn that helped me, that last time I popped in! She helped me pick out make-up which is not easy to do on your own. She matched the make-up to my skin color which is why you need help. She showed me where the sparkle eye shadow palettes were....I chose a really fun pallet. So sparkly! It is so much more delightful to have a person who cares about you, to help you shop for personal beauty items that makes you feel beautiful. First time going to ulta and I loved it. When we walked in an employee greeted us and assisted me with finding what we needed. My only complaint was the bathrooms weren't stocked with toilet paper and it could have used better maintenance but all in all i enjoyed shopping here! read more

I dread coming to this ulta. The staff is always so rude and takes forever to flag anyone down to help. The products are always out of stock, and the ones that are in stock are always a mess! The make up is in the wrong spots, opened, smeared, and hard to find with how disorganized it is. This store is incredibly close to me but half the time I will drive the 20-25 minutes across town to go to a different location just to avoid the hassle. read more

I come in trying to look for products to update my skin care routine, mind you my aunt is a certified dermatologist so we were texting back and forth to make sure I picked up the right products for my needs and I was approached a million times if I needed help or assistance, after the 3rd time i just stopped responding to them but wow like what the hell? if I needed help I'd be happy to ask but I didn't. Years later I am still commited to Nikkay doing my hair. People ask me anytime I go anywhere how I have the hair that I do. I tell them by going to a true expert and listening to her. She has done so many different colors and kept that my hair is extremely healthy and long in the process. This is not an easy thing to achieve with dark hair like mine is naturally going to extremely vibrant and lighter colors. She is patient and listens to everything I dream of for my hair & makes it happen! She has even pulled my hair to platinum. She will be extremely honest with you in what it will take to achieve your hair goals, even if it is not the answer you want. I couldn't respect and appreciate that more! This review is soley for my salon experience. There's never been any kind of issue everytime I visit the store. I booked an appointment online for my dad on a sunday at 12:30pm. I received a call the day of my appointment asking if 1pm will work because they were running behind, sure no problem. We got there at 1pm and waited for another 15 mins before we got taken cared of. It took 45 mins for dad to be done with his haircut, their clipper was broken and the hairdresser nicked his neck. We were definitely dissatisfied and, as first time customers, traumatized after that cut on his neck. It makes me question if the staff needs more training? read more

I came to Ulta to get some eye liner, mascara and a eyelash brush. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by several employees. Mercedes who does lips and brows for my daughter for years said hello! She is the BEST!! My daughter RAVES about Mercedes! Usually when I am shopping here I am shopping for my daughter. You are greeted when you arrive. If you need help there is almost always somebody who can assist you. Unless you are there around Christmas time then this place can be a zoo. When anyone offers to help you they will ask what price range of product are you looking for. I think that is awesome!! My daughter and I both have allergies so we shop for hypo allergenic. Also if something doesn't work for just bring back the remainder of the product and get a refund. I have had to do this on one or two occasions and have never had a problem. Had makeup done for my daughter for junior prom. I showed the dress to the makeup artist so she could decide on colors and shades. I am not an expert on make up. My daughter doesn't have flawless skin, but the artist made it look like she did. I am glad I brought her here. My daughter was really happy with the makeup work plus she had eyelashes applied. It's was kind of pricey at $60...you buy some of the make up products and the application is free. They have other services like lessons on how to apply make up and express services if you are in a hurry. 30 minutes for $30. There's a girl that works here names Belen and she lied about the terms of when i bought a juicy couture perfume and she is ALWAYS rude. It was a "buy a juicy couture perfume and get a tote for free" and i got them. i came the other day to return the perfume and she said that i needed the free gift to return. weird they never ask me that before, so I went to another ulta and they accepted the return and said i didn't need to return the free gift. She LIED ABOUT returning a free gift, (possibly to keep for herself). Everytime i come in with my sister, she is EXTREMELY RUDE. I've tried contacting cooperate and will continue to do so. I've never been in the store, never had my hair done by a beautician, but I'm a wedding photographer and in the course of my work, I've met and photographed a lotta beauticians as they're doing a bride's hair and that's how I met Leslie, as she was doing Brandy's hair on her wedding day. For sure my go to Ulta location. Close to my house, no pushy sales reps, Mercedes in the Browbar is great, and I never have a problem with the products i need not being in stock. Although, I will be honest , most of my review is towards Mercedes in the Benefit BrowBar. I have never done my brows before nor waxed them . So I was pretty nervous about coming down. I also knew there was places that were cheaper to get them waxed but at the same time I heard stories about people making their eyebrows too thin. I finally gave it a shot and made a appointment with Mercedes. Came in and I let her know this was my first time for my brows in general and she was completely amazing from beginning to end. She described the procedure to me and the side effects I might get after then when it finally came to the waxing , she made sure I was relaxed and comfortable before starting to wax. At the end of everything she taught me how to fill in my brows and how to shape them and helped me pick the right color for my brows. I was very pleased with the service and at the end didn't mind spending the extra money just because it was worth the experience. A few months later , I came back to her and same exact perfect Customer Service from Mercedes, and to top it off she gave me a little test benefit browmade to try out. Highly recommend for first timers who never done their brows or need a little help with their brows. Mercedes won't let you down and totally worth it all at the end! read more

Daughter and I popped in today with granddaughter to pick up some hair product for me. Unlike any other time I've been to this store (which granted has been probably two years), I was neither greeted upon arrival nor assisted at any time. In fact, someone slammed a door in my daughters face and I felt like we were being watched to make sure we weren't shoplifting. Same us; same smiling faces. So what gives? Don't trust fat people? Do we look shifty? Not one of the four employees that looked at me without making eye contact asked if they could help us or made me feel welcome; just the opposite, in fact. I stood and waited at the MAC counter inside the ultra for 15min waiting for the MAC employee to help me. I even asked her is she was the only was available and she said she was the only one there. I was mistaken to think it was like a Macy's where the person who works at the counter is the only one who can help. A lovely girl named Hallie came over from the skin area to help me without being asked. The other lady let me wait for her, I'm assuming for commission, instead of having someone else assist me. I booked an appointment for a facial. After being shown into the room, I was asked to fill out a form. I did and the person doing the facial never looked at it. While I was getting the facial, the person's phone kept going off and she kept having to go deal with it. She explained that she was usually off work by then and her friends were calling. For Pete's sake be professional and turn the darn phone off. Basically, she was just doing the minimum for the facial. The room was less than inviting and it was really off putting. I couldn't wait to get done with this. I would rather pay more money and get a professional experience. On the flip side, Mercedes did a simply wonderful job on my eyebrows and even showed me a product that would do a better job than what I was using. I bought the product and love it. I had an inclined Bob style that I loved, after the stylist finished, it was a lopsided long pixie! I was mortified and just needed to get out as quickly as possible. When I arrived home, I was so angry. I spent 55 dollars on a horrible haircut! I did send a note to customer service and they assured me someone from the Sparks store would be in contact with me. I was supposed to get my hair done today but instead I received a call from the rudest store manager I have ever spoken to. This is the person setting an example for the employees. I had an appointment at 12pm confirmed by 2 texts messages yesterday. I received a phone call from Molly to ask COVID questions about 10:45am and as we were hanging up she said see you at 11. I corrected her and said my appointment was at 12pm and I then checked my texts and found they sent me a text at 10:03am thus morning changing my appointment to 11am. I told Molly there was no way I could be there by 11am. I should have received a courtesy call if appointment was changing morning of. She said she would have to talk to her manager since I can't be in at 11 and would call me back. A few minutes later the manager called and proceeded to tell me the system says my appointment was at 11am. I told her I received 2 text message reminders yesterday for my appointment at 12pm not 11am. She told me I would need to send her a snip it of the texts because that is not what her system says my appointment is. I was appalled, she was basically calling me a liar and asking for proof of the text messages. I expressed this to her and she sarcastically said I'm sorry we can schedule you for another day. She proceeded to say they were having system issues. I responded how was that my issue and now I have to reschedule. Doing our whole conversation she spoke to me rudely. I told her she needs customer service training. I asked to speak to her manager, she said she was on vacation and she would send me her email just before she rudely commented have a nice day and hung up on me. I was highly offended by the treatment I received and was extremely surprised that a person in management would speak to a customer in this manner and insinuate I was not being honest. I was extremely unsatisfied with a hair tints performance and when I went in to exchange the product for the more full coverage version the manager turned me away stating that the main reason he couldn't exchange the product because I used the whole tub and that if I had "75%" of it still in the bottle that it would be no problem. I had called another location prior and they were extremely quick to tell me that it was no problem at all to exchange the product but that they didn't have what I wanted in stock. The manager at this location gave me no options to make sure I was satisfied and kept telling me that it was Ulta's policy to have 75% of the product left for a return/exchange when that is said no where in the return policy. Terrible customer service! Well actually none. I was avoided at first time a worker walked by and the 2nd time the same person just smiled and walked by quickly. I looked for someone else to help at no avail. When i checked out, i asked the clerk my questions and she had no idea and didn't offer to get someone to help. Then i tried to use a coupon and she wasnt very friendly or helpful. She did Showed me i missed a sale that was that day only and i just received the email that day. She just shrugged her shoulders. She did not direct me to the bottom of the email to get $5 off my sale. Its not worth the gas to go back and get it. It's always a nerve racking experience to find a new hair person/dermatologist/nail person/doctor.....I think you all will get the idea. In this case it was hair. I had just moved up from LA and had been in town for only three weeks. I had a second interview coming up with a high profile tech company and my fine, curly hair was looking pretty ragged. My last hair dresser, who I had been going to for around 10 years has hair that is similar to my own, so she got me. Plus, she became a good friend. She had also styled industry people on set at the Golden Globes, cut hair for actors/models, but mostly high level celebrity's assistants/attorneys/publicists. My point: she is amazing. Back to my situation- I didn't have much time. My mom's hair always looks nice and she has a great head of hair (no extensions) for being a senior. I chose to go to her hair dresser, Raquel. It turns out Raquel has thick, wavy/curly hair too. She is great at what she does! She touched up my roots, did a conditioning thing and a blowdry. I got 3 compliments before I even paid my bill! I loved that she trimmed my ends just the tiniest bit, as I like to keep my hair long. I'm not taking off a full star, but more a quarter: we were both feeling kind of tired and stressed, so the energy was a little low. Next time, I'll make sure I have caffeine with me.
