I got beauty services for the first time at Ulta. I got makeup (the mid service) and curls by Taliah. She was very patient, checked to make sure I was satisfied along the entire process, and answered my questions thoroughly. The makeup looked great! It did look a little slightly 'cracked' by the end of the night so not sure why that was. The curls looked ok, it was a rainy and humid day and it frizzed up a little as soon as I got outside so maybe some more product would have helped? All in all very satisfied with her customer service. The only other small thing is I had to pay for the service in the main line and it was super long - not her fault, but just an FYA. read more

I came here to return and exchange a long receipt to apply a coupon and the Lead Cashier was very efficient in doing so. The line was long, but we were all moved through the line quickly. I also received great customer service -- they helped me as soon as I entered the store and helped me find the item I needed. Parking is limited in the front, but there is a larger parking lot in the back that connects to the store. This is one of the better Ulta locations that J have been to and I def wish that it was closer to me! read more

Came to this Ultra to pick up a few things. All of the stores have the same layout so no confusion when you enter. Displays were clean and well organized. The associates were pleasant and checkout was a breeze. Register for their rewards program and get points to redeem for merch and free swag on your birthday! They even send you a monthly ad with a coupon for $3.50 off of a purchase of $10 or more! read more

I've been here enough to know a few things. They don't greet you, the "makeup artists" don't know anything as I've been sold the wrong color foundation, concealer, and BB cream(all too dark). They also don't recommend things. Usually I get in, get out already knowing what I want. I went in yesterday and told the "makeup artist" I want to learn how to bake my face she said "I don't do that and it doesn't work anyway so if u want to u would just use a powder." Ummm ok which one? "A loose one that is the shade you're looking for" then she walked away. At that point me and my mom just left and drove to the mall where MAC never fails me. Elkridge location has great customer service. Idk what's wrong with the workers here. read more

Yeah, I am just not a fan of this location. I do love the selection and products, but I've just had really questionable service there. This month, they are having a special where if you buy $45 of a particular brand, you get a free gift of a travel kit (from that brand of makeup). I heard good things about the products, so I decided to try it. I put my $60 worth of stuff on the counter, well over the $45, and the sales associate rang me up. Then, nothing. I asked about my free kit and she said "sorry, we are out of those". Well, the whole reason I came in and bought that much stuff was to qualify. I protested, and told her that, and she just apologized again. She was very sweet, but not helpful at all. Finally a manager walked up, who told her that they indeed had the kits and got me one. Better training would be a recommendation. Especially when there are huge signs all over the windows telling shoppers about the promotion. The sales staff should at least know it. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I made an appointment on Wednesday April 13, 2016 to do my hair a pretty lavender ombré. Darker purple roots and lighter purple down to my hair. Anyway, I was promised a lot of things, one of them being that they CAN make that happen. Anyway, my appointment was for today, at 1:30pm April 14th, 2016. I came in and the hair stylist starts bleaching my hair. Then she washes it off, and bleaches it again. she was pretty much asking everyone else for ideas on how to do it, because she couldn't do it alone. I'd never bleached my hair, so my hair was obviously as healthy as hair can be. Anyway, as she's bleaching my hair for the second time, she stabs my eye.. Like haven't you done this before? shouldn't you be more careful? My eye burned for a while. After, her assistant left & she died my hair purple. And she dried it and my hair was literally stiff like I hadn't showered in years, and my roots were "purple" but to me it looks more of a magenta color. And then the rest of my hair was brownish. She told me to come back Sunday, that she would fix it. But I wasn't going to walk out of the salon looking like that, with magenta and purple and brown streaks on my hair. She didn't even bother to style it. Literally. I'm posting photos of how she was going to let me walk away. And during the process on my hair she was talking bad about her manager how she has a nasty attitude and stuff. So I got to the front to pay, I talked to the store manager, I told her I was unhappy and that my hair was destroyed and bleached only for it to go back to brown and have magenta pinkish looking roots. The manager said "Well I'm sorry, you have to pay, in ulta you pay wither you like the results or not" so I said okay. So I went back to the stylist after i had paid because she said she will fix it and make it lavender ombré. So she did my hair in the worst way possible, pulling it, yanking at it and even hit me on the nose with the brush. She was trying to clean my face some nasty chemical to remove the paint and it burned my skin after I had told her not to use that she still did it again. It smelled so bad. I told her not to ever put something on someone's skin without telling them. The ending result, my hair was a dark bright purple and my roots a light magenta looking color. She dried it and left it at that. It looked frizzy and nasty so I told my sister (she was with me the entire process) to braid my hair because I couldn't see it like that anymore. She claimed it is an ombré but it isn't. I will post photos and videos if I can. So my hair is basically ruined , I look ridiculous, I cried and I paid 150 dollars. I warn everyone to stay away from there. Horrible customer service. read more

The Benefit Brow Bar staff and almost all the girls walking around seem polite and anxious to help. The markdown is on the cashiers. I've been coming here for the last 6 months or so, at least once a month, and regardless of who is at the register, they don't smile, don't acknowledge you, carry on whatever side conversation they were having with or without you standing in front of them, and some clearly care more about their looks and appearance than the customer. Recently, the girl with crazy sharp, long fingernails and tattoos everywhere, long hair, didn't even acknowledge me as I paid. In fact, I thanked her for checking me out as she kept talking to another employee and got no response. Suggest training or older, mature staff. I continue to go here simply because the girls in the back are great. read more

I just don't understand if you get shipments Every Friday why are you consistently out of product, I don't get it .....never any clarisonic brush heads no cologne for men I don't know if they do inventory but they should start this is the Worst ULTA Every!!!!!.... Can I just say how great it is that this place is so close to home! It is so hard to find a good makeup store that I know my husband will walk with me. As soon as we walked in on Saturday we were greet with smiles and happiness. The store has literally everything. My husband was looking for a face brush to help wash his face with and they pointed us in the direction right away. They were very helpful and answered all our questions. I went there for the first time around 7:00 pm this evening. I looked a little rough because I had just come from Pilates but didn't want to go home and had been researching a perfume they had. I go in, smell different perfumes, picked up one box and returned it to the shelf. Walk away, and there is a freaking siren shreeking. I was always, not sure what it was, then I realize it's the box I had just return to the shelf. The security guard was looking for what was making the sound and I thought I was being helpful telling and showing him it was the box. Next thing I know he is shopping next to me for the next 5 minutes, and following me. I waited for someone to come over and help me, but there was no on available on the floor to he. Don't like feeling like a criminal, so I left and will not be back. read more

I went here yesterday to purchase foundation. I walked through the door and was not even greeted even though TWO associates stood right at the entrance. Then there was a dark haired guy with dark features writing something on a clipboard he didn't even look up. I said excuse me and he didn't look up at me he said "yes?" I'm a very annoyed way as he continued to write. Like seriously? Why do these ppl work here but don't want to help anyone?? I just wanted foundation! So I stood there and stared at him unless he looked up. When he finally did, he asked how he could help...I refused his help by then. I bought my $40 foundation and left. I went into ulta looking for gel nail polish. I asked an employee for assistance and she said they are all over here and pointed to the regular polish and said the gel is on the other side and darted off. I looked and didn't see them(that is why I asked for assistance). It seems assistance was in short supply. This was the second time I have been in this particular store and had a bad experience, ie no real help when I ask and i feel like I am bothering the staff. That will be the last time I go to the one in laurel. I will stick with Columbia and Rockville. read more

The makeup artists just stand there. This has been the third time I've been here. No change. I literally was testing different foundations without assistance for 45 minutes. When I walked in they said hello and went back to doing nothing. As a customer I shouldn't have to ask for help. Eventually I asked if they give samples. I did get some from Clinique. The associate was nice during our encounter. I'm team Sephora. It sucks that this is what is close to me. Their selection is good. Most of the foundations were in stock. They do have a good selection of drugstore brands as well. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would I went there to spend gift cards, because you are only given the option to enter one gift card when ordering online. I selected my items and went to the checkout. There was one sales associate on register and three people in line. So, we are already waiting to check out. We get to the register and I hand the sales associate 4 $25 gift cards and she rings my purchase. We begin trying to scan through the gift cards, get through two of them and on the third, the checkout scanner freezes. We try everything, but it stays frozen. The manager on duty is called and she indicates that they had a similar problem the day before. At this point, the transaction times out. Another manager comes to the front and declares she will need to call IT. After 20 minutes, she gets through to IT (after wondering to the original associate why I had so many $25 gift cards) only to call me over, announce there isn't anything IT can do, and she will need to call Guest Services, but they should answer more quickly than IT. So, she calls Guest Services, gets a message that the wait to take the call will be less than 20 minutes and asks if we want to wait or if she should submit an online ticket for a $75 gift card that will be sent to my email and I can come back later that day to pick up my purchases using the online gift card and the remaining $25 that I still had in my possession. Are you kidding? Why can't a manager offer a store credit and get this proceeded? What kind of customer service is this? This is the closest store to us and its 25 minutes away. What company in their right mind would allow a customer to leave with no resolution to a problem, especially after waiting around for over 1/2 hour?!? I will NEVER shop Ulta again after this dreadful customer service! read more

I showed up for my 7:00 hair appointment early. They said that whoever I had talked to that day didn't put me in the system and that I wouldn't be able to get it today. After not wishing to make another appointment, they said I could be taken care of at 7:15. About every 10 minutes I've been told "I just need to blow dry, give me 5 minutes". It is 7:50 and she just turned on the blow dryer. read more

I am a big Ulta fan and this location is the closest to me, every time I visit this location they are ALWAYS! ALWAYS out of everything Im looking for,even when their website says available at that location!! the staff tells you they are out of stuff without even bothering to look in their system or elsewhere!! They are always trying on things on themselves and barely aknowledge your there and if they do acknowledge you they are rude and unprofessional , especially the young guy cant remember his name!! I worked for retail before (MAC) to be specific and even when it was hectic with crazy hours and full of people, I was never this rude or careless about costumers thats why going to this store irritates me so much!! From now on I will just travel a little more and save myself a headache! And by the way im not a rude or needy costumer but it just seems like everytime I go to this store i leave dissapointed thats why i decided to leave a feedback maybe management gets these people in their place!! read more

Went into Ulta today, to get some replacement products from having pink eye. (Depressing, I know). A few associates were nice and then some others were really rude and just gave me dirty looks, or they started at me the whole time. This happens on the regular and I'll end up avoiding the store for a while then when I need something in a pinch I'll go here. Last time I came in a girl named Tori was really sweet, so I assumed the bad employees were gone. I was wrong, and the worst seems to be a manager. I can't even begin to explain how irritating it is to go into a store and spend money and then to be treated like I'm nothing. No I'm not rich but I spend a lot of money here. If I am not spending more than $200.00 it seems these people just can't be nice! I have to go back, unfortunately for a big purchase. If I experience this again, I will say something! Don't work in customer service if you hate your jobs so much! I should just drive the extra 20 minutes and go to Sephora. Just go to Sephora in Columbia, it's well worth it you get free samples of what ever you want and you're treated like an actual person! read more

I absolutely love the Salon at Ulta. Every time I go, I am welcomed like I am a part of the family. My color always comes out amazing! Danielle is so personable, and makes me feel so comfortable. I just hit my one year mark with her and do not plan on going anywhere else. She cares more about how my hair turns out than I do! She never lets me leave unless it is perfect. read more

I am within walking distance to this Ulta, Yet I still feel more comfortable ordering online. I have been here three times and leave with the same impression. The staff acts as if they are being held captive to work there. 1) Was there right after opening Christmas Eve, only myself and another elderly woman. Six employees, not once did they ask us if we needed assistance; we did. They were huddled in a circle talking to each other. 2nd time, the store was not busy, not once did they ask if I needed help. 3) Just left the store to do an exchange, black young woman in the gray sweater near the smash box/tarte section THANK YOU for asking if I needed assistance (I didn't, just doing quick color matching). This was short lived because by the time I got to the girl at register one she acted as if her cat just died. Word of advice you don't have to be BFF with customers, but at least be friendly or don't work in customer service. I'm sticking to Sephora... Ulta needs to set-up some training courses for employees, Dueces! read more
