I recently visited The Nail Bar while in Maryland and had a fantastic experience. Tam did my nails, and I couldn't be happier. I'm currently growing out my nails, so I requested he keep the length while shaping and filing. He nailed it (pun intended)! The results were exactly what I wanted. I've been to this salon before, and that's actually what made this visit so disappointing because my previous experiences were much better. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The male technician who did my pedicure was excellent. He was professional, thorough, and did a great job. I have absolutely no complaints about the service he provided. Unfortunately, the condition of the salon during this visit made it difficult to relax. I saw roaches crawling on the seating area, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. There was also a spider in the salon that several employees were loudly talking about and trying to kill, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere while clients were trying to enjoy their services. The biggest issue for me was watching a scrub product spill onto the workstation. Instead of discarding it, one of the technicians scooped it up with his bare hand and put it back into the bottle. Seeing a product that is used on clients' skin handled that way was very concerning and made me question the salon's sanitation practices. This experience was surprising because it wasn't like this during my previous visits. I hope this was just an off day and that management takes these concerns seriously. The technicians are talented, but cleanliness and proper sanitation are just as important as good customer service. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll return, which is unfortunate because I've had good experiences here in the past. read more

This salon is not truly Black owned. It is falsely advertised as so. The owners are a husband and wife from Korea. When I was there they had Fox News on both tvs. And my nails look horrible. Very disappointing read more

I visited the Nail Bar for the first time and I have no complaints. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and I was surprised that it wasn't crowded. I went in for a pedicure and they took me right back. I didn't have much time and needed just the basic pedicure. The ambiance was very nice, the entire place was clean... even the bathroom! The lady that did my toes was quiet but friendly. It was a bit too warm in the shop so I asked if they could adjust the temp and they did with no hesitation. I will definitely return. read more

Got a goopy gel manicure with 4 coats color and two coat top coat... spoke up on the fourth and she doubled down because she had missed some spots. Really bad technique and got gel polish on my skin. She tried to upsell me sparkles on my pinky and when I joking said not for me she brushed them off, but you can still see them on my pinky so my $40 gel manicure is effectively ruined for me as I don't like sparkles -along with the heaps of polish on my nails. Was a walk in and decided to come here after the good reviews, but am shocked. She constantly filed my nails and remarked how I could only do round nails due to how short mine were. I have short nails and am someone who gets my nails done a few times a year and don't ask for anything crazy so idk if she thought I was disagreeing with her or what, but weird. Really disappointed especially with how much she filed them down to begin with. I'm moving so won't be able to come back and get them fixed. Feel like the pics don't show how thick they are. Had them removed later that day. Not saying you can't get what you want at this place as other women in the salon looked like they had good experiences, but maybe the tech I got was bad. read more
