The owner Mark loves beer and knows his business, had the pleasure of attending his 1-year anniversary last week and he's already outlasted much larger establishments around the lake. We accidentally stumbled across this new Ale House a couple weeks ago and are so happy we did! The owner and his wife are very friendly, knowledgeable, and love helping people find their new favorite brews. When you walk in they have a wide variety of beers on both side. Shelf beers on the left and cold beers in the refrigerators on the right. You can buy packs of beer or build your own 6-pack. In the back they have a bar where you can try any of their rotating tap beers. It is such a cool little spot to hang out and enjoy a good microbrew beer and chat with friends without the loud obnoxiousness of a club setting. The owner says he has plans to do tastings, host music, and events...so be on the look out Mooresville!! read more

I love sitting here. It's quiet enough to get some work done on my laptop and enjoy a beer at the same time. The friendly staff can help you select a beer if you want - they know what they have on tap, on the shelf, and in the fridge. Was going to wet my whistle at Ultimate Ales today around 5:30pm, I walked in and started looking through their coolers when I noticed there was a toddler sitting at the bar with her parents. There is no way a baby should be at an establishment such as this. Since when! are persons under 21 allowed in bars? Not only that, it destroys the experience for the other adult patrons. It had been awhile since I've been to Ultimate Ales, and after this experience I think I'm going to make Lowes Foods my go to for tastings and take home beer. So upon my second visit to Mooresville my fiancé lives there now because she took a job and I am waiting to transfer, long story shortened. We went out for pizza next door at the salty caper( another spot I need to review) so it was early in the night so we stopped in for flight. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Mark the owner. He advised us of the different draft choices, I did the flight my fiancée tried some of them. Awesome flight downed and I was able o try some new stuff. Then we decided to start tackling his coolers that completely stocked with local brews and beyond. We chatted with some regulars come to find one guy lives around the corner from us, small world. We made some new friends tried some new beers my last trip to mooresville was two weeks ago we stopped in again and Mark remembered us. Then our new friends from our last adventure were there tooo.so it was like old times. Go here if you love beer and get the spicy cheese puff things that Mark sells. Ultimate Ales is a hidden gem in a strip mall in Mooresville. Unassuming, but once you get in there is a friendly staff and fun atmosphere in addition to a rather expansive collection of bottle and draft options. As someone from Ohio, I was happy to find such a variety of NC and SC beers that you can't get out of state. I will definitely be stopping by here again. read more

My new husband and I are beer fanatics and this is our go to place. Mark the owner, is super friendly and honestly has the best selection of craft beer in the Mooresville and surrounding area. Four fridges of bottle beer, a huge shelf of singles to make a mix six pack and a whole wall of 6 packs. Can it get better? Yes, it can. Mark has beers on draft. We got our kegs for our wedding through Ultimate Ales too. If you love beer, this is where you need to be. read more

Great place to have a few beverages in the Mooresville area. A little bright, but easy to hold a conversation and people-watch. Only reason I give 3 stars is due to the exorbitant growler prices. $40 to fill a growler is insane, compared to most spots in South End that will do the same for $17-25 tops.
