World Market reminds me a lot of Pier One, except WM sells wine & beer. I came in here looking for a cheese slate (which thanks to the website), I knew they carried them. Poor management...lazy and bad customer service. The manager wouldn't honor a price even though it had a sign stating the price. She said mistakes happen. I went in 1 week later and the same incorrect sign was still there. Very sad because I love the store. I will not shop at this location again. read more

If any of you saw my review for Pier One then you'd probably be a bit surprised to see me tout the awesomeness of World Market. Admittedly it is another world goods import store with a vast majority of made-in-China low quality products. However, I'd like to point out that Pier One is like a bastardized rip-off of World Market. This place has it all and it just gets better and better. Foods, candy, snacks, drinks, spices, etc. imported from all over the world - not just China. I absolutely LOVE the beer and wine selection. I've tried every craft and import brew they've got to offer here. The furniture is high-quality and sturdy made of solid wood. The linens and clothing have beautiful patterns that are just enough hip and never too much gaudy. There's no end to the selection of dishware inspired by the cultures of the world. And is it just me or do the prices just keep getting better and better here?? This is easily a one-stop shop for gift purchases for any occasion. read more

I went to this store for the first time today. Can't believe I've never stepped foot in here since relocating to Mooresville 10 years ago. The store is set up quite nicely, but it's smaller than I thought it was going to be. Everything seems to be organized well and there are overhanging signs to point you in the direction you need to go. They have some pretty unique items here. From food, wine & beer, to furniture and decor. Everything seemed decently priced, a few items way out of my wheelhouse of funds but overall I'd definitely stop in more often if I was on the hunt for a unique gift idea or something particular. They didn't have what I was looking for, but it never hurts to check out a new place. I got side tracked by the food section! They had some chocolate bars that were all kinds of different flavors. Like Margarita flavored chocolate! Who comes up with this stuff? Sounded good but idk I'm adventurous enough to give it a shot. read more

I'm not sure what I can add to what the other reviewers have already said, but simply put this is a wonderful store. I had been here previously many years ago when it was brand new but haven't made it back until just this month. I was looking online to buy 1L glass milk-style pitchers for a mimosa bar for a party. I looked everywhere, Amazon, Ebay, etc. I found them on Amazon but the price was more than I was willing to pay. Then I saw a GoogleAd for World Market and decided to try it out. I found that this Mooresville location had them in stock and for an amazing price ($5.99 vs $14.99 online at Amazon). Normally I would call the store but I was in such a rush I decided to just swing by. As soon as I walked in I asked the cashier who called up the store manager. She was so fantastic and helpful. She walked me through two different sections until I found the ones I wanted. Yes, they had so many in stock! She was patient and helpful and very knowledgeable about her store. When I checked out with the aforementioned cashier I told her I was travelling with them and she individually wrapped the bottles for safety. Thank you! To top it all off, apparently is was my lucky day and they were having a 25% off on all dinner and glassware. My items qualified. Please take time to go to this awesome store. They carry so many unique items and their prices are a real steal. As others have said, don't be fooled--this isn't just a home goods store, they also have a rocking supply of imported beer, wines, snacks, etc. read more

World Market is the place I go when I am looking for a unique gift. From incense burners, to paintings, to candy from all over the world. It truly is as if the company brings the best from all over the world and puts them in one easy to get to place. Their wine selection is quite varied and priced fairly. On the weekend, this location does a wine tasting. They also have a great selection of international foods. If you've never checked them out, I would highly recommend taking a look! read more

I love that no matter where you go, Cost Plus is always the same. My friend jokes with me that it's called world market and has no idea what cost plus is. But growing up in San Francisco, i remember when it was Cost Plus like 20 years ago. Their wine selection is definitely different than what I'm used to and MUCH smaller, but they still have the good old standbys. I must say, I have grown to really like this store. (It's in the same shopping center as Dick's and Target in Mooresville). It's filled with Worldly good (get it?!?). I would describe it as chic, practical & eccentric. There are interesting items throughout the store that come from, or are influenced by, other regions/countries/cultures. Diversity is cool! They have a neat section to the immediate right filled with pictures, art, frames, etc... then you move on to the gift section (which has candles, oils, jewelry, cards, gift bags), etc. Then, going counter clockwise, you find rugs, furniture (VERY COOL FURNITURE!), lamps, etc. Then at the back of the store, that's where it gets good... FOOD!!!! They have chocolates, cookies, crackers, meats (non-perishable), sauces, pasta, etc. from all over the world. Seriously, they have pasta stuff, sushi stuff, drink mixers... My FAVORITE thing here is their biscottis - you can get a big box for a great value! Then, head to the left and there's a good sized wine & craft beer section. Then working towards the front, you'll find kitchen items: plates, glassware, tables, silverware, cooking utensils, etc. Then in the middle, it's a bit of a mix-up catered to the season. I like World Market b/c they have lots of hard-to-find import foods & beverages and pretty fair trade jewelry. I love the colorful, well priced bangles from India, the asian inspired home accents, affordable pet toys and great variety of smaller items perfect for holiday stocking stuffers. They have really well priced kitchen items, above and beyond what you find at Target. I especially enjoy the baking items, everything from great quality cookie sheets to individual cookie cutters and cute cupcake sets. Pretty glassware and beautiful hand-painted dishes are also in abundance. I've bought a few chairs from them and they didn't hold up well, but a desk from them is still going strong after six years. I think their prices are much better than Pier One w/similar items and varieties available. I often come here for gifts and special items for various holidays. Staff is helpful and I enjoy browsing the well stocked, well laid out sections. read more

I cannot stand to shop at a store that constantly changes their prices and their offers and their promotions like I change T-shirts. It's ridiculous because what you're going to buy today was 50% off three days ago and you pay full price for today and tomorrow it's gonna be 25% off. Every week they're changing it up and it's utterly confusing. I go up to the manager and I ask her "hey I got this coupon in my email and I have been out of town, it's 50% off one item and it is only three days old. Would you please honor this".... and she says no I'm not willing to risk my job. Now what kind of manager would not be given the authority to accept a coupon that is three days old. The whole idea of the coupon is to get the customer into the store. I own retail stores myself and I would accept the coupon if it were two months old or even older to keep a customer happy and from going somewhere else. It's apparent that the so-called manager at world market really is not a manager at all, she's just a sales associate with a fancy title who cannot make any decisions or think on her own. This is the problem with corporate America and I refuse to support a business like that. I will be taking my business other places from now on! read more

I LOVE WORLD MARKET. Can't say it any better. I go in, get some coffee, and start browsing. I love the foreign food section. They have some of the snacks and cookies I used to buy when I was in Germany with the Army. You can find all those ingredients that you need to cook those Chinese recipes that you can't find in grocery stores. I even found some chocolates with tobacco sauce in it. It was really good and not as hot as hot as you would think. A fine selection of coffees, whole beans and a grinder too. Kitchen selections too. Plates , glasses , kitchen gadgets. Some wicker. Furniture from around the globe. As my sisters-in-law said "I could spend all day and a lot of money in here". read more
