I should say first that I was happy when I left. Fay was really nice and fun to talk to. She styled my hair well so I liked the look by the time she was done. The thing is that I have thick, wavy hair and it falls a lot more smoothly when it's straightened, so you have to know how to cut thick, wavy hair in order to get it right. When I washed it later and it returned to its natural state, I noticed that one side was cut in a big chunk and the layer was not blended at all. I have to go somewhere else now and pay more to have it fixed :(. read more

After having a haircut the other week I booked in here for their going out package with a bit of a substitution. I wanted a wash and blow dry, false lashes and my nails done. When I came in on the morning I was booked in for a lash tint rather than falsies and the beautician who was there did not do them - so why 5 stars? well I always think the measure of customer service is not that no mistakes are made (we're all human after all) but how the staff react when mistakes are made. It was an important day for me and I really had my heart set on the lashes! The beautician was an absolute doll. She did my nails, sent me to get my hair done, and found someone to do my lashes in the meantime. Then she whisked me away and at no extra charged threaded my brows. She just did a quick neaten. On top of that she told me that the package I had booked was not really a saving due to my substitution (falsies instead of a lash tint) and put me down for the cheaper option. This is a bit of a muddled review, you've been forewarned. I went in here just to change it up from my usual salon. I'd heard good things and thought I'd give it a go. I wanted a simple cut and said as much, but the stylist spent the whole time telling me how bad my colour was, and how it was such a pity that it had been 'messed up' so bad. I didn't once say that I didn't like my colour at all, he just seemed to take umbridge with it. I spent the 30 minutes I was there taking loads of insults and he blow dried my hair to make me look like the mother from the Brady Bunch but when I washed and styled it myself I realised that I loved the cut. So all in all...I ended up with a good product but the service was pretty much atrocious! I was kinda thrown into the chair aswell and not once was I asked if everything was going okay...in the Style Club they really REALLY take care of their clients but here my hair was washed with cold water and there wasn't a cup of coffee or a magazine in site. This is a great spot. The staff are always really friendly, it's centrally located, and the prices seem reasonable enough. I can't comment on the hair as I've only been to the beauty salon downstairs. Both times I've had the 3 day individual lashes applied. It's 15 euro and definitely would last a good two days. They do start to get pretty uncomfortable after that point, so worth lashing a load of baby oil on them then and getting those feckers off. (The things we do!) To be honest about the place, it's not luxury, it's basic enough, so it's more for getting prettied up rather than relaxing - i.e. for your nails or lashes, definitely not a massage. read more

After 14 years in Dublin and in desperate search for a good hairdresser, I have finally found The One! I've never left so happy with a new haircut . My stylist Rachel was so friendly and really listened to what I had in mind. She gave plenty of advise as well. The place itself has three floors, and they also do beauty treatments etc. Everyone who works there seems to really enjoy their job and the atmosphere was buzzy and happy and relaxed at the same time. They really care for their customers. I will be back next month, this time to get my colour done. Highly recommended! read more

I wouldn't recommend. I have been to this hairdressers twice; the first time I was happy with the result and I paid 35.00 euros which was student price. So with my 21st birthday coming up I decided to go back again and treat myself. I was really unhappy this time with the result and the price, therefore I would not recommend. First of all I rang them to ask how much student price would cost me. The girl said she thinks it 35.00 euro but she would double check, when she came back she quoted me 38.00 euro which was fine. I went to them and showed the hairdresser a picture of the hair I wanted. Basically I wanted a bit shorter than it was as It was shoulder length and I wanted a trim. Long story short it wasn't anything like I wanted, it was all choppy and layered and I was left with not a lot of hair. When I went to pay I was quite upset about my hair and then showed the woman at the desk my student card. She then said 45.00 euros please, then I told her how much I was quoted and she said that was wrong and it had gone up in price. I've never left a review for a hairdresser's as I've never been entirely satisfied but that's all changed now! Dara was unreal. He listened to everything and asked to see any pictures I had (1st time this has ever happened to me). He then explained exactly how this could be achieved and made some excellent suggestions. He's a perfectionist from the start and I knew I wouldn't be leaving with anything less than his best. The result is a fantastic cut and colour and I can honestly say it's the first time I've ever left a hairdresser's feeling like I got everything I wanted and more. I've been to some very expensive salons in Dublin and many household name hairdressers but this is by far the best experience I've ever had, and at a better price. Got my hair done after bleaching it twice during the first quarantine and it was in bits!! It was orange, yellow and brown. Michael worked wonders on my hair and it was such a seamless colour when it was finished. Went back again before Christmas and another great job was done. Got it cut short too. Usually cut my hair myself but after the job that was done I'm not looking back!!! read more

As soon as I walked in I asked to please be placed with someone who knew how to cut curly/wavy hair. The lady smiled at me like I was an idiot and that of course everyone can cut curly hair.... I told the woman I was placed with that my hair is extremely thick and needed weight taken out. Near the end she asked how it was feeling, I said it still seemed heavy. She reassured me and I said fine let's see how it turns out. But the next day (when I styled it myself) I realised that not only was hardly any weight taken out... But she basically cut my hair in 2 lengths! The back was fine...textured throughout. But the sides... Yikes!! There's basically a long bottom part and then *3 inches* above that is a second thick section of hair. I end up looking like I have a tube of hair around the middle of my head with a second long dangly part below!!! *sigh* The hunt for someone who can cut curly hair in Dublin continues. read more

I went into the salon absolutely hating my hair and desperate for a positive change. When I explained Fay what I am hoping for, she really listened and took her time to discuss my options. As my hair was in a truly bad condition, she advised not to color it for another few weeks, which I thought was very considerate and professional advise. So we went for a treatment and a cut. Then we went through the options of haircuts. In the end we decided on a short cut, which is a big change for me but I felt I couldn't be in better hands. I am so so happy with the result, it gave my hair a wonderful lift, it looks like it came to life and I received many compliments already. I have short hair and went here on a boards deal and I'm so glad I didn't up spending the full 70 euro. The layers weren't blended and were all the wrong length, the fringe was a mess and they didn't even dry my hair properly. The hairdresser didn't listen to a word I said even though I had a picture and was fairly clear in explaining what I wanted. The salon itself was chaotic and loud. Ended up having to spend a further 30 euro fixing it somewhere else. Never again! read more

However if you are on a living social/groupon, etc. voucher you wont get the same treatment like usually which is not mentioned on the voucher of course, example: you wont get the best stylists and best hair treatment. Myself and 2 friends bought the Boards deal in March, thinking we were going to experience a fab salon on a great offer. It was none of that. First of all the deal said Top Stylist, with treatment. When one of my friends called to make her appointment she was told it was only junior stylists who cut for this deal. Anyway she went ahead. The cut was deplorable, no proper layers and cut her fringe far too short. It was "chopped" looking. The Treatment was not done either, and she literally was in and out in 23 minutes!!!! And no offer of a coffee!! I made my appointment but was not asked if I had a voucher on the phone so said nothing. My stylist was supposed to be one of their top stylists. I had to ask for the treatment to be done, she was just going to do an ordinary conditioner job. When she realized I had a voucher she went mad. Told me she was too senior to be doing that, which probably meant she wasn't getting commission!! She proceeded to cut my hair...in a style totally opposite what I asked for. She literally shaved the sides of my head, cut the hair to my scalp. It was terrible. I have curly hair and really she gave me a cut for a very young 20+ girl with straight hair. I had asked for a softly layered cut ,which suits me so well. I was really disappointed. My other friend never used her voucher!!! I would never ever go to this salon again. It chaotic and noisy, and you literally are just on a conveyor belt. My whole point is that they offer this discounted deal based on the top prices charged for a top stylist, but yet they are just using you as practice for their junior stylist. This review is not based on my personal experience but that of my clients. A couple of weeks ago I had a family emergency. That meant I was going to be gone for 3weeks I had little notice. So my client who I have been doing her hair for about 7 years was left with a cancellation. I apologized and told her I would make sure her next hair cut and blow dry was free. Unfortunately her 30th birthday was in the time I was gone and her hair needed to get done. I told her to check around that area for a new appointment. So she chose this salon. I returned the other day and had a very emotional message on my phone. She has a very light ash all over tint her natural base is about a seven. When I met her today her hair was orange at the root. Like home colouring gone really wrong. She's shy but she said it was obvious she was upset. She thought it was the lighting in the salon. When she left her root was orange. But they also put flood lights in. Not necessary. The damage to her midlenght and ends is bad. I told her to put in a official report. I understand as a hairdresser things don't always go to plan but to allow her to leave the salon like that is unforgivable. And charge her full price. Not good form guys read more

Having being advised that this place was amazing by a friend whos whole family gets their hair done here I decided I would go along with her and get my hair done. The stylists she recommended weren't available that day so I just took whoever was available. I was taken away from my friend upstairs (appointment was 5pm Friday) and was told to sit at the sink. The girl who washed my hair was really friendly(purple hair) and cautious about the water temp etc. The stylist who would do my hair came over (older man) and asked me what I was looking for. I said I wasn't sure maybe a shorter cut and I wanted to ask about colour. Hoping for a stylist who would advise me on length and colour I got a rude old man who was rushing to go play football at 6pm. Why take a 5pm appointment? His response to my uncertainty was "well you'd want to decide quick love because your about to come over to the chair!" I couldn't believe it and decided a trim and blowdry would be enough from this guy, it was clearly too much for him to do on a Friday eve. Said not to cut my fringe that I was growing it out but he cut it anyway and was left with the shortest fringe I've ever had. Blowdry was alright and the conversation was minimal. Overall it was a disappointing experience and I won't be returning! My friend was mortified that she had recommended this place but her experience was completely the opposite. She has a pixie cut and after having my long hair cut and blowdried I came downstairs to see her hair still being cut by her conscientious stylist! Still tipped the guy after paying 45e for a cut and blowdry, do not know why! read more
