I would first like to start off by saying just how nice these people are. I wasn't sure who to call on for help, I checked a couple yelp reviews for some pool companies and went with the closest to my house. They were very kind over the phone and came out to my house and figured out the problem with my pool almost immediately. I felt very comfortable with them and they were very knowledgable of anything pool related. They gave me a quote and were able to fix the problem within the week. Congratulations to whoever is reading this for doing your due diligence, I wish I had done mine! There are this many bad reviews for a reason. It started out great, a couple of days after signing the papers the demo crew showed up and knocked their part out in a day. Impressed so far. A week later the next crew came and did the electrical and plumbing. Unfortunately the lines they ran were nowhere near where the estimator said they would be along the back of the house "in the last intrusive way possible". This after I dug all the plants out of the planter beds I thought would be in their way. They had cut a lot of my cement deck away to run the lines in the most intrusive way possible and basically left the mess for the next crew. After two weeks of waiting I called to see if and when they would be coming back and the girl told me that they don't know until the day before what they're schedule is, but don't worry they'll call when they know (I think she moved my name to the bottom of the list). I decided to move one of their piles of debris myself because it was right in the middle of a walkway to my yard. After two more weeks of waiting I called the estimator (on a Thurs.) to ask what's going on and if they were still going to make the deadline one week away, he said he'd find out, but that he thought my coping was on back-order. The next day (Fri.) the girl called to say they'd be here on Sat. to do coping and tile, which they were. As soon as they were finished she called to let us know the plasterers would be there the next day to finish up, which they were, and when they left the yard was almost as clean as before the job. There were still a couple of small piles of blue plaster here and there. 8 days of work that took just over 6 weeks! I have no problem with the workers, they busted their butts, sometimes in the blazing 95º sun. The company itself gets an F- in communication, with me and each other. If they were waiting on coping (for a month?!), which I doubt given the prompt response after I mentioned their deadline, why not call and let me know? As far as with each other, the right hand didn't seem to know what the left was doing. Plumbing and electrical ran totally different than what I was told. I told the estimator that I wanted the plumbing stubbed out so I could add solar heating in the future, didn't happen. I was the one telling them how the Shamu shelf and 3rd step were supposed to go (good thing I was home). I had also asked about lining the edge of the new shamu shelf with matching tile so grandkids and dogs could easily see the edge and was told that it was "not a good idea; might be damaged by the plasterers; wouldn't guarantee it", etc. When I asked how it was that they didn't damage the tile on the side walls, his response should have clued me in, he said "they just don't". He seemed to think that there was some sort of sanding or grinding to be done when "exposing" the quartz finish when in reality it's done with an acid wash which got all over the side tiles and didn't hurt a thing. But after seeing the pics of other reviewers, I'm sooo glad they talked me out of it! The last guys that were there, the acid washers, told me to go ahead and fill the pool when they were finished and we haven't heard from them since (2 months now), to inquire if everything was alright, anything else need finishing, or to give us any literature for the new equipment. In the month that we were waiting for something to happen I grabbed the manual for the LED light out of the box that they left laying around, otherwise we had no clue how any of it worked. The contract does state that we can get manuals online, but we have no part numbers to go by except on the salt system so we're left to guess. There is also still plaster (quartz) blobs here and there on the tiles. The coping blocks are so uneven and wavy there is a perpetual puddle in front of my steps due to the angle of the blocks. The acid washers must have left a little acid in the bottom of the deep end a little too long because there's a distinct white outline in the blue quartz where it settled. Somehow they managed to screw up my electrical panel door so it doesn't close correctly. Bottom line, would I use them again or recommend them? What do you think? read more

The good news... they did finish on time per the contract. The overall replastering looks okay, not great, especially with the lights on or in cloudy conditions. The tile is mostly okay with the exception of the top of the spa wall between he pool and spa, and that was after we had them redo it. The tile cost seems a little on the high side, given that it was basically just a single band of six inch tile around the perimeter. As some other reviewers had mentioned, Tom, the salesman made a good pitch and showed a reasonable timeline and indicated that our timing conditions could be accommodated. They could start quickly and finish in a few weeks, including a week we were gone, and do all the work themselves, which some others did not. Now the bad news... they are not good at coordinating. They showed up to do the tile without letting us know they were coming and we weren't home. We came home from our first appointment found them there, almost done. We asked the crew why they were here and they said we were called. I told them no, we were not... he called up Daniel, the owner, and gave me his phone to speak to him and he insisted the company had spoken with us the day before, though Daniel could not provide any details of who was spoken to, the time or number called. We had to leave before they were done, but we did speak to their scheduler who, it turns out, thought she talked to us but was mistaken. I had asked for Daniel to call me back, he did not, so don't expect him to return any calls or offer any apologies for his errors. Also, they were not prepared with the lien releases that were to be provided prior to the next check, in fact the crew Forman didn't really have knowledge that they were to have them to give to the clients as per the contract. As for the workers, they were generally courteous and efficient. However, and I'm not sure if this occurs on all of their projects or just the more rural ones, but their cleanup procedures are terrible. After they were done and I was straightening things up, I found that they routinely cleaned out there vacuums and other tools in my landscaping and decorative rock. You can't imagine how hard it is to get concrete, tile, mortar, and plaster debris out of rocks, some of which are still stained. They did not ask and it was not readily visible when they left. Also, they threw the plaster water on some of the plants, hopefully they will recover and not be damaged. As a pool remodeling contractor, they should have a plan for removing all of the debris used in their work from the premises, not just most of it. Also, they should have a cleanup policy and provide better direction to their employees on what is acceptable behavior while working in people's yards and property... and if in doubt, ask the homeowner BEFORE dumping debris or dirty water anywhere. Bottom line is I would not use them again or recommend them to anyone else. If you do decide to use them, make sure you do a thorough walk-thru after each stage and don't pay them until all of the debris is removed from your landscaping and yard. read more

Ultimate is all hype! Tom came to look at my pool and in theory make a bid. Weeks pasted and nothing! No response to any inquiries. Just signed contract with Bogner pools for top to bottom remodel. Great service and prompt responses. Customer service counts! Don't waste your time with these unprofessional yahoo's. This review should be zero but Yelp won't allow that! read more

We are very happy with our pool remodel. Tom the estimator, Ashley in the office and all of their crews were professional, courteous and clean. From start to finish it took 4 days, and it was a pleasure dealing with all of them. I cant believe the negative reviews here, we had not 1 issue. I would recommend them for sure! read more

Satisfaction with my pool is relative as it was 20 years old. Anything would have been an improvement. The tile is beautiful, and Eric did an excellent job helping me make my selection. He was polite and helpful. However, the complexity of the start-up was NOT clear and now I know why. I am STILL sweeping the dust off of the plaster (quartz) 10 days later! Be prepared: Start-up will take you 7-12 days. Make sure you know what you're doing. Thank goodness I have a great relationship with my pool company/technician. He has been a life saver! Ultimate Pool Remodeling, as promised, will NOT help. In fact, Daniel the owner, was curt and rude. He was clearly annoyed by my calls and questions. My review is primarily about customer service during and after my pool remodel, as well as, the pool start-up. The remodel was supposed to take 10 business days or 2 weeks, and Ultimate Pool was supposed to call a day before each phase. Well, it took 13 days or 2.5 weeks, and they did NOT call before each phase. I had to call them. Ultimate Pool Remodeling showed up bright and early the day of the demolition - Phase 1, and it only took 3-4 hours. 8 days later I had to call them for Phase 2, then they sent a crew the next day to tile the pool. 4 days later, I called again. The next day, they sent another crew to plaster (quartz) the pool. Unfortunately, the plaster equipment shorted-out the electricity in my garage including my Verizon Fios. Yes, UPR sent someone to assist with the electricity, but I had to call Verizon as the box needed to be replaced (no fault of UPR), but I was without internet/TV/phone service for 24 hours. So, I write all of this to say...if you can get past my experience, use Ultimate Pool Remodeling as the end product is satisfactory. Contractors in this industry are hard to find! My experience was terrible Andrew was right owner Daniel curt-rude and acted like you owe him. I called told him about his worker shorting out my garage ruining my food in the freezer he didn't seem to care. Although Eric salesman says Daniel willing to pay for it he never did! That was just the beginning. Work substandard violations were imposed by the contractors board per the contractors board! They would not wait for 10 minutes so I could pay them and had to hunt them down to pay them. Eric said I could drop off at office before I signed a contract, only to find the office was a PO Box. Job looks good but because of the sloping I will have problems later. Upon turning the pump on water went everywhere, my friend had to rescuer lines. Then losing water, I had to call American leak they found a broken T line. The said not normal wear something hit it and broke it. I was forced to fix it right away due to the water shortage. I knew I could not and would not trust they would fix it right away I had it done myself. Nightmare! The law says if I have lost all confidence in their ability to do it up to the contractors standards I don't have to continue. Over all damages so far over 2000.00 according to contractors board a civil suit would be the answer over 15000.00 damages. Too many of theses guys out there do not settle better do not use them. Leslie's recommend them but Leslie's in Rancho took their sign down after I shared my story with them. Sorry if anyone has had or will have these problems with them? read more

Buyer beware! Think three times before hiring this company. I can only speak to my experience with this company. We started our remodel in May. Straight forward remodel, tile, lights and plaster. I can say demo is the only thing that went well and that's it. The following week they came out to install tile, what a disaster. It seems as though tile installers must have not had any experience installing pool tile. Tile line as wavy as water on the ocean, it looks horrible. They had non electrician install the in pool lights and he destroyed my electrical box in the process. Honestly, my 12 year old son could have done a better job. I had to repeatedly contact the company to get someone out to fix the tile and hack electrical job. they finally sent someone out a week later only to make me feel like somehow this krappy workmanship was our fault. They said they would send someone out within a week to repair it all. Here we are three weeks later and no repair, no calls, no tile, no plaster, and no water. When I contacted the company today they had nothing available in the foreseeable future to fix THEIR problem. I have very little faith this company will actually complete this remodel and there is no way they will set foot on my project site without me physically being present. They have absolutely NO problems collecting the payment checks though. We are approaching the 2 month mark on this project. I debated writing a review, ( wanting this remodel nightmare to be forgotten), but decided that it was very necessary. I will begin by saying that the two stars were given for Juan, who came out to try and correct the work of his colleagues. There were issues in every phase. We had new coping poured, new tile and plaster. I know that this company had a very big job going on in Orange County at the same time therefore, I was made to feel that my pool was not as important... A big problem that effected the quality of their quality of work is that even small tasks were not done in the order discussed with their salesperson, who by the way, made me believe that he was the owner of Ultimate Pool. The worst part of the entire remodel was the very bad intallation of new tile, When I informed the owner of the company, Daniel, that their was a problem he was very flippant over the telephone. Daniel does not now how to apologize. In the end I deducted about $200 for broken items in my yard. I only wish that I had deducted $600 more for the installation of my pool light which finding out several weeks later had been broken. When I contacted the Daniel about this, he merely e-mailed me a copy of our contract, which stated they would not be responsible. read more
